This is from the New Super Mario Bros. edition of the Nintendo Offical Magazine.
手塚：じつは今回のキャラクターは『スーパーマリオ64ＤＳ』で使われた3Dモデルを参考に使っています。ただ、2Dの背景と3Dのキャラクターをどのようにマッチさせるかは試行錯誤をくり返しました。
蔭山：例えば、木1本の表現にしてもリアルにドットで描くと手前にあるキャラとの比較でどうしても少しパサついた感じになってしまう。3Dのキャラクターが手前にいて、それに合う背景というのはドットらしいドットではなくて、もっと質感を大事にしたものじゃないかと。

That's odd. They both look a bit 2D to me, but I don't know where the game would keep those, unless they are part of the stage model/skybox.

I've tried to upload it, it didn't work. I can't compress it to less than 7MB or so (with 7z or RAR5 - in 7zip/WinZip).
There may of course be little-known compression formats that can compress it further (but that is a bad idea).

I think it is a good idea to put a link to a mirror/reupload of the original video file, in the description of YouTube videos. Because downloading videos from YouTube with something like youtube-dl and converting them will inevitably cause loss in quality, and it'd be best to reduce this where possible.

This doesn't really count as a prototype, it is just a mixture of different prerelease versions, not a single leaked version.

Its very possible that a load of images were taken from one version, but it is not possible to be sure. Anyway this version is probably not leaked - the images were probably from straight from Nintendo.

Most of that stuff about Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis) seems to be on TCRF.
And the guidelines says:
"Add This Stuff
[...]
3. Differences between released versions."
"Don't Add This Stuff
[...]
5. Publisher, logo, and copyright/licensing changes between regions."
This seems to suggest that this stuff is okay.

Or do you mean differences between the 'same game' on different platforms [e.g. Donkey Kong (Arcade) -> Donkey Kong (NES)]?
Because that isn't in the guidelines under 'Add This Stuff' or 'Don't Add This Stuff'.

If this stuff isn't going to be covered by TCRF, than documenting it on that wiki sounds like a good idea.
But I'm not sure about having an overlap between the two sites, that seems like a waste of time to me.
