Posted on 07-07-13 07:45:45 AM, in What's the right way to quick-convert from MKV to MP4? Link
Similar to some but not all of the previous attempts with various programs and configurations, YAMB created an MP4 that had seemingly perfect video and no audio at all. Funny enough that's seemingly how the MKV plays, though I'm not sure if it runs as stable.

The basic info output by MediaInfo was...

MPEG-4 (Base Media): 972 MiB, 42mn 41s
1 video stream: AVC[English, 2 798 Kbps, 1280*720 (16:9), at 23.976 fps, AVC (High@L4.1) (CABAC / 9 Ref Frames)]
1 audio stream: AC-3[384 Kbps, 48.0 KHz, 16 bits, 2 channels, AC-3]
Overall bit rate: 3 184 Kbps

I feel like I tried manually converting with several different audio options to no avail, but half of them just refused to try at all in the program I used, so I can't be sure.

I've got a Kyocera Hydro myself, with Android Ice Cream Sandwich. It started out pretty great, especially for being a 99 dollar Christmas present with no contract, which means I can use it mostly as I expected to use it, like a mini tablet using Wifi to access sites and take pictures with flash and listen to music in bed and chat while away from the PC.

However, I think I might be causing it to keel over some already with how much stuff I've loaded on to it. I swear it felt faster before, now I've got quite a few apps that refuse to move onto the SD card taking up space, quite a few that take up bits of memory or CPU in the background, programs that refuse to make said apps stop when not running like they should, things like Google Drive that slowly cause the phone to lag to death forcing a restart, and a constant nagging to update that might take away my root or brick it due to said root!

It's hard to tell how much is the phone being lower end, how much is due to it being ICS put on something more suited for an earlier version or if it's due to my loading it with too much... it's hard to think of what I can even delete!

Still, it's held up pretty great, considering, and my next Smart Phone, which will probably be some higher one I buy with my own funds in a few years when they're cheaper, will still probably be an Android.

DuckTales Remastered has a couple of unused songs inside.

In the original game a separate tune played when you got a game over and got tossed back to the title screen, in the remake you simply go back to the level select room. Thus, m_gameover and m_gameover_NES, which are the original Game Over song remastered and NEs version, don't get used.

m_stage_himalayas is a beta remix of the Himalayas stage, this one got used in the Himalayas postcard trailer but a different mix is used in the final game.

WF_Logo_Music_Standard is one of the normal WayForward logo songs, probably used till the final one(which is mixed with a DuckTales melody) was made.

Lastly, m_transylvania_NES_beta is the NES prototype's Transylvania song! Developer easter egg?

... oh, speaking of easter egg, supposedly pressing space(in the PC version at least, which is jump) in the first version of the game on the Stage Clear screen made this appear. It got patched out, sadly.

On the N64, I played using Kirby with the mindset "kirby can use teh stone is invicible so awesome" and I don't believe I ever really adjusted to using anyone in a proper way beyond that.

Melee, I'm not sure who I used to use when I was younger, but when I started playing it in preparation for Brawl, I got stuck in an event that focused on using Ness and grew attached to his moveset, even if I still was awful with PK Thunder recoveries.

For Brawl that translated to me using Lucas a lot, he lacked the fun spike but had other fun moves, though I tended to swap back to Ness eventually, with the red and white outfit. I also really like playing as Wolf, his attacks just somehow feel real satisfying to pull off. Mr. Game & Watch is also a bit of fun to use for the weird value, same with ROB.

I can't help but think the Hammer Kirby in Space picture(if not the actual stage or comment) might be a nod to the Kirby anime's transformation scenes. If not, it might at least explain why it seems familiar, even in the star BG is far far more detailed.

One thing I notice, while there's the whole Galaxy rim lighting effect, the rest of Kirby also appears to have a rather different cel-shader effect. Perhaps it's just the way the current version of Smash Bros handles self-shadowing at that angle for Kirby's round body, but it definitely helps add to it reminding me of the anime transformation bits even if they never had the rim lighting.

Firstly, the detachable buttons thing mentioned in here never came to happen I believe, though there's always the possibility of that being an addon given all the stuff is "open" somehow.

Still, while I think the idea is to have a controller that replaces the need face buttons by having buttons accessible via shoulders, grips and whatnot, the right hand's trackpad thing can simulate four or even eight face buttons surprisingly well with the haptic feedback, or so devs who previewed it say.

Posted on 11-08-13 05:15:54 AM, in _ Black Screen of Death... I killed my computer with EasyBCD, nothing I've tried works! Link
So, quite some time ago, I installed ReadyDriver(or ReadyDriver Plus? Whatever it is) so I could run a few unofficial drivers on my Windows 7 64-bit computer. This meant that whenever I started my computer, it gave me the option to choose between Windows 7 and Ready Driver, which it usually automatically picked the latter before then picking Windows 7.

So, I got tired of this and had no use for these drivers anymore, and got EasyBCD. I removed the Ready Driver entry, and then picked "Skip the boot menu" thinking that it would otherwise just sit on a menu with Windows 7 and nothing else. Then I went and worked on other stuff, PC started slowing down due to other things, I decided to restart, and I was met with this.

More accurately, I get my computer's LENOVO logo and the "Press Enter to BIOS" thing, followed by this. No selection options and no Windows 7 logo at all.

I currently can not find a Windows 7 recovery disk, if my PC even had one. My mom's Windows 7 upgrade disk does nothing far as I can tell. I've tried setting the BIOS settings to default. I've tried using a Super GRUB Disk to restore the MBR. I've tried some kind of thing on an Ubuntu running off the disk to repair the "Bootmgr". None of this seems to work at all.

Anyone here at least skilled enough to point me somewhere to ask this question, or perhaps have an actual idea what I can do to fix this?

I managed to make a working rescue disk off of my dad's 64-bit Windows 7, somehow I didn't think to try that before. I think I was convinced it'd still be linked to his PC or that he didn't have 64-bit or such. Either way, it worked, though I still need to go and get rid of that Ready Driver entry the right way sometime.

YouTube on the 3DS is literally just a video-capable browser stuck to YouTube. I forgot how but I believe there's even a way to ditch YouTube by heading to the right combo of pages and go to other video player sites, where you'll find the video quality is much better, at the cost of rather nasty buffering times, likely why YouTube was locked to such low video quality.

This probably also explains why it lacks 3D video capability. I wonder if, in this sort of browser video player mode, it'd be possible at all for them to run a 3D video, which would be twice as wide as a normal one.

I hear Google is the one who makes YouTube apps, which might be why they went with this kinda odd solution. I imagine running through a browser rather than streaming directly would make it run worse, I just hope this doesn't keep us from ever having native 3D video support. I tire of converting converted videos through conversions of conversions and being unsure if the resulting video's lack of 3D wow is due to high expectations or the converter.

At least sometime next year I'll have the Oculus Rift to handle my PC based 3D video needs. I'll never have to convert a video to 3DS 3D format again, and I can remember that the 3DS is intended to be a game system.

I had assumed, after Black 2 and White 2, these were going to be remakes in a "modern" Hoenn, and I'll be kinda disappointed if it's just a full on remake. It SORT of makes sense(With the lack of multiplayer support on the VC and the fewer devices that support GBA, it can be hard though not impossible to get from the GBA gens) but a remake seems a bit unneeded outside of fandom requests or going into a thoughtless cycle "just because we did two other remakes"

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
