It's been delayed in Japan till January 31st. This means the possibility of something new being fit in in the last minute, so that would be an obvious reason they delayed it.

At least you're not all "fuck you sakurai", laying the blame on one person out of an entire team, as if he was the one who made the models, did the programming, etc.

I have to say, I'm impressed at how many different things you covered, spanning both internet memes/jokes and general internet websites with the logos of sites like Something Awful and deviantArt. I'm also amazed at all those tiny lines that serve as a background. For having so many different things, both characters, logos, text and even sprites, it also is visually appealing. The biggest thing though is that for a while I kept finding new things when I looked back despite thinking I saw everything, even now I noticed two or three little things... is that the hamster dance, and the Yatta song misinterpretation?!

The release date change was already mentioned before, let's move on and not dwell on it like every other board I've been to.

Cause Ness originally wasn't gonna be in the second one, but they delayed/canned MOTHER 3, so he stayed. That proves they don't just keep characters because "they were in the first game". Then again, he might stay and be given a new moveset, as Luigi, Falcon and Jigglypuff are pretty different characters and probably will stay if Luigi gets a new Down B like Mario.

The program it was made in(or so I think I remember) is Multimedia Fusion 2, who's random values apparently depend on button presses and the like, as it supports the ability to record a demo when making it, and play a demo using an event. So, assuming the randomness value isn't changed depending on time or such when demos are not being used, a TAS should be possible, assuming lag doesn't desync it...

Ness and Lucario(and Jigglypuff re)confirmed. Apparently the five minute Wii site video was updated after last Friday's sticker based update... however, they either forgot to hide or "accidentally" let us in on some characters... I took full screen shots(Well, maximized Alt+Print Screen) because I didn't know how else to make sure it looked believable.
Ness!
Lucario and Jigglypuff!
Don't trust me though? Just look at it yourself.
The whole movie!
Look yourself! Come on!

It's often common for the soundtracks to modern Sonic games to feature songs that end as opposed to loop and fade, and I'm pretty sure the frequency seems to decide how often a track is selected randomly when starting. Otherwise they'd have to have 5 to 20 or whatever songs loaded in the memory at once.

Posted on 07-20-09 04:06:58 AM, in Reading the Instructions/Directions Link
To be honest I pretty much never read the manuals to games beyond a quick skim, unless someone else is playing the game while I read. It doesn't help that nowadays most games seem to put all the instructions in the actual game via tutorial level. I do make note to try and read instructions in the off chance I get something that isn't a game, like an external hard drive I got earlier this year. Things that are more likely to overheat and explode than a game DVD/card, basically. Of course, if it's putting something together, I read on to do that.

If you included things like README.TXT files... I probably need to get myself into the habit of reading those more, too.

I'd of voted or commented, but I really didn't want to be a part of the stop having fun group that I usually am against. On the other hand, the usually bright colors on every username made it harder to see on The Horrible Forced Scheme.

Perhaps you could simply have it show both? Either in some sort of split screen, or a faded angled fade thing splitting the two. Thus, anyone who'd see it could assume both that:

1. You can edit the original level, as seen by part of Bob-Omb Battle Field.
2. You can make something entirely new, as seen by the custom level.
3. You can change Bob-Omb Battle Field into a new level like this, as seen by the possible interpretation of the fade between them as transforming the original into a new level.

Then again, perhaps you thought of that and figured they might focus on the third, thinking "This just trashes the old level and makes something from scratch" and ignoring the possibility of tweaking the original.

Does it count as reading the time wrong when you panic about being late or about what time it is only to find out the "clock" you read was the timer on the stove for that night's dinner? Plus the occasional reading a clock without AM/PM on it and mistaking 3 AM and 3 PM.

My mother's tried a few of these, to varying degrees of success, the main problem being some didn't satisfy due to the air resistance and the rest either broke, were one time use and ran out, or burnt up inside and became useless. Now she's switched real cigs for some sort of medication again, a plastic fake cig to satisfy the urge to hold and use one, and... an addiction to Facebook games. If that ever stops working maybe I could point her in the direction of the brand you use if it's working out well for you.

Not to shoot you down, and maybe I'm wrong, but I heard people say that the Stadium games had the actual roms of the games in them, so I would assume it wouldn't even need the games in the transfer pack besides to store save data. I also heard someone say Stadium 2 had the Crystal rom in it before it was even released, which is pretty much mostly what I'm basing this on, so if that was wrong then you might be right there.

I still remember last year when I wanted to try and post more... and then I kinda didn't. Sorry about that! And yet you all still replied to the thread, daw...

Don't expect any visits to bars or such from me to celebrate my 21st though, my grandmother wouldn't really like that and she's kinda got a lot of say in it too. Still, there's gotta be something non-alchoholic I could do that I couldn't before right?

From what I saw in a bit of the video, the screen was tilting quite a bit whenever he tried to rotate it. The XBox 360 has pressure sensitive triggers, perhaps the stage would have less issues if the player simply pushed lightly on them. At points in the stage the player is going pretty much at the fastest speed you could with the screen on it's side, while you'd probably only do something like that for crazy speedruns, being as the game even tells you don't turn it too much.

It'll still probably be a pain on the 360 compared to tilting a controller for the others, but I really doubt it's going to be the red hot railroad spike the video made it look like.

Posted on 08-10-10 11:21:07 PM, in Google is Evil after all Link
A few posts elsewhere(manly Sonic Retro) make this thing sound a bit less... well, evil, and more like a sensationalist story deal. I don't want to say too much as I've never read much into the Net Neutrality thing yet, so I'd probably botch it all up, but till someone else more knowledgeable says something, I can at least toss this link from there to give another view. Can't be positive if that would just be pro-Google stuff to cover up something... but I'd rather not be forced to get rid of my G-Mail account that's linked to pretty much everything of mine online to help some protest that would help determine the fate of the internet or whatnot... so I'm kinda hoping Google's not the bad guy here.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
