I can see someone making a Kaizo version of those secret levels in Sunshine. Let's hope not though.

I'm guessing after VL-Tone finishes Toad's Tool, he's never going to want to look at a ROM again. But I'm sure somebody will make an editor for Sunshine someday.

Galaxy would be pretty difficult, considering the different gravities and custom objects, I don't think Galaxy will ever have a full level editor.

Try looking on Youtube for some TT64 tutorials. There's no way to just say 'i dont no a thing about rom hacking' and just have us figure out what you want. Tell us what you want to know or get some help yourself.

Have you read anything that's going on in this forum? There will be a polygon importer that lets you create entirely new levels from stratch. That's coming someday, which was clearly labeled as a thread title.

If you mean edit existing terrain, VL-Tone's already said that would be very difficult to do. Just export it to a 3D program and work with it there.

Hacking the game codes is difficult when you're just starting off, and you need to understand hex and assembly language. My advice is to read through some of the old threads here to get an idea of how the game works.

What is it with software developers and getting rid of something that works and people like? I mean, look at Paint. The version on Windows 95 is practically the same version that was on Vista. Because it worked and people were used to its interface (even if it was awful). But now, because someone got the idea that all new software has to have THE RIBBON, it has to be programmed in to something as stupid as paint.

Point is, I would rather have a hundred tiny icons in toolbars than a ribbon. I've gotten used to Office 07 because I had to, but that still doesn't mean I like it. I hope OO doesn't do the same thing, since they should be their own independent software, not just an exact clone of MO.

I doubt it. In theory all 3D games should have the same kind of collision, but they don't. And considering the GC was very different from the N64, I don't think much of it would have been transferred over. But I don't know, I suppose it's possible.

Next thing you know, Microsoft will fine a way to work that ribbon into IE. If one of the independent browsers (FF/Chrome) doesn't do it first. Then again, the FF4 interface can't get any worse, can it?

Are you sure you've selected the right acts for that object? Its name will turn red if you have.

You'd probably attract more attention to this idea if you made a topic for this in Rom Hacking, since any Sunshine hackers would be there rather than here.

I don't think the 100 coin star is something you can add, it's just part of the level info. There's probably something you can change in the ROM to make it work, but I don't know what. Or I could be completely wrong.

The Amulet
The Amulet Returns

I don't know if this belongs here, but the second movie was something I made over the summer. The first one was made back in 2005. Both of them took a lot of work, even though neither of them are perfect. They're worth watching if you have a few minutes to spare.

I don't know if we know how lava behaves, but if it works the same way as water, then it can be done. If not, then it depends.

It's free software, so I don't think anyone can stop you. Tons of people have made old TT64 tutorials on Youtube, so I wouldn't see the need to get special permission.

Yes he mentioned that before. The importer will give the option of how many objects you want to have in your level.

That's why this whole IE-alternative legal suit is pointless. People who know little about computers won't have heard about the others, and will just go with IE. Or if anything, this choice will just confuse them even more.

What I don't get is, IE is free, all the alternatives are free, so why is this considered some kind of monopoly? IE doesn't block other browsers, and they're easy enough to get. It doesn't seem like the EU has any right to intervene if you ask me.

And no, I don't like IE either.

You should certainly contact him for starters to try and get the wireless stuff. If that doesn't work, I recommend a USB wireless just because it will be easier to setup and will probably be more compatible.

The cannon and the door to the cannon are two separate objects, I believe. So be sure you have both of them or else it won't work.

I agree that menus would be nice, but don't make those your #1 priority.

Your UI takes a bunch of random hex numbers and makes it into an extremely usable program. SM64 is not as simple as Super Mario World, and will never be as easy to use as Lunar Magic. But if anything, that will help us avoid a ton of crap hacks, and instead get stuff made by people who wanted to make something great with SM64. Don't worry about oversimplifying it for this release. Maybe in 0.8 you can make a noob-friendly version, but for now all we want is something functional.

Think of it like Adobe Flash. If someone download's that off Adobe's site, they can't just draw a few things and make a game instantly. As a result, Flash games on the internet tend to be higher-quality. Wait a second...no they aren't...

Posted on 09-02-09 01:44:51 PM, in TSAdBot Link
When I was cleaning out some of my unused processes in Windows Task Manager a few days ago, I noticed I had something running called TSAdBot.exe . This name sounded ominous so I searched on Google about what it was. Some of the results said it was from Microsoft, others said it was spyware that should be removed. I had this same program on my old laptop, so I figured it might be tied to some software that I installed on both machines.

Do you know anything about this? Is this something I should be concerned about?

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
