Gantz is an extremely popular manga in Japan that has been on magazines for years now. Had it's own anime spin with the manga that was hella criticized by just about everyone, and even had it's own Movie adaptation. Why is Gantz so popular? You get Blood, Gore, Sex, Voilence, Drugs, and goddamn fucking anime all in one big stirring pot and the creator cooked the shit out of this. This is Gantz. Welcome to hell.



What is the story?

Well, I'm going to make this short and sweet. People in this anime die and are somehow 'Not dead' and they have to take orders from a black ball to kill aliens. They wear suits to help protect themselves, gain superhuman strength, and help survive. They get guns to blow shit up, and by the way. People die in the most ridiculous ways possible. This manga goes so far as rape and necrophilia. It's that fucking hardcore.

You said that the manga is better than the anime?

Yes. However, if this thread interests you. Watch the anime FIRST before you get into the manga or movies. Better yet. This is your priority:

Anime, then Movies, then Manga.

The anime kinda cuts the story short. The movie does the same way except it does not suck, and the manga is LIGHT YEARS beyond what the anime and movies are doing.

Without spoiling too much. Let's just say that there are certain elements of Gantz in the anime that is like 1/5th of the actual manga. The story is extremely deeper and just when you thought things can't get any more badass the manga comes out with something that turns the series upside down.

Multiple times.

The movies are decent. Voice acting is kinda weird but still good nonetheless. Plus it's ongoing but is still planned to be "Somewhat like the anime". Plus it's liveaction too so you get that cheesy B-movie style horror flick going on.

So the anime sucks?

I would not say that. It's just unnecessary on how this anime ends compared to where the manga was. It's still good in terms of violence and death but having it end so early turned off soooo many people who were fans of the manga. However, it's still recommended you watch the anime first BEFORE you get into the Manga. At all costs. You can thank me later.

Manga is a Zillion Lightyears ahead of the Anime?

Yes. Just...yes.

Again this is something that I can't spoil too much without giving a teaser. But this is also suggesting you watched the anime.

"Eventually, in the manga you come across people who play "This game" who have cleared this game multiple times. Oh yeah, and they are all doing hardcore drugs and jamming out in MP3 players while kiling the aliens without any effort whatsoever. They do this for fun".

That's all I'm saying. Sound lost cause you have not watched the anime? You should. It's good.

Live action movies?

The same producer who brought you Death Note also brung out Gantz in a live action movie and it's pretty good on it's own. I purchased the first movie today (However I did not see a 2nd one. It must not be out yet) and it's in my opinion better than the anime. It still has the blood, voilence, etc. But the one thing they cut out was the sex which imo was a good idea I guess. Never was a fan of that to begin with.

The one thing the manga had going for them was when they started meeting the Osaka team and learning that there were other Gantzers out there who just did this for fun

Like, there was one Osaka Team member who literally looked at one of the aliens and started raping. Just because it turned him on and whatever he wanted. He fucking got it. Only issue is that he got his arms and legs ripped out by the said alien and still was just chilling and killing the hell out of him.

E- Now that I am on my computer:

I purchased a Vita to mess around with while I waited for Wrestlemania to start and holy shit I love this thing. Purchased Hot Shots golf and me and some kids were playing against each other (Turns out I'm not that bad at golf. But I still lost) for about three hours. All while not only playing but taking pictures but also browsing the web.

Only thing that is bad about this is I can't watch Youtube videos...yet. I need to update this thing so I am able to do so.

What is Katawa Shoujo?



A game designed by four leaf studios. Basically, people from 4chan got together, pieced together ideas, and made a videogame. And it's actually very good. A visual novel of sorts. I'll let the about section explain this!
Katawa Shoujo is a bishoujo-style visual novel set in the fictional Yamaku High School for disabled children, located somewhere in modern Japan. Hisao Nakai, a normal boy living a normal life, has his life turned upside down when a congenital heart defect forces him to move to a new school after a long hospitalization. Despite his difficulties, Hisao is able to find friends—and perhaps love, if he plays his cards right. There are five main paths corresponding to the 5 main female characters, each path following the storyline pertaining to that character.

The story is told through the perspective of the main character, using a first person narrative. The game uses a traditional text and sprite-based visual novel model with an ADV text box.

Katawa Shoujo contains adult material, and was created using the Ren'Py scripting system. It is the product of an international team of amateur developers, and is available free of charge under the Creative Commons BY-NC-ND License.


Wait a minute...all of the girls you get to chose from are handicapped?

This kinda cought me off guard at first until I actually started learning more about the characters.

You have Emi Ibarazaki, a young athletic girl who uses prostetic legs and loves to run in marathons. Very hardheaded. Hanako Ikezawa, a burn victim and very shy. Lilly Satou, a blind class representative and also very formal. Rin Tezuka, a girl born with no arms, very misunderstood and loves to paint. Shizune Hakamichi a deaf / mute girl who aims to be the top in class at all costs. And finally Shiina Mikado, Shizune's translator whom suffers from ADHD and OCD

So, it's basically a dating sim?

Well, thats one of the 'gimmics' I suppose. Although the choices you make are minor (You really make about 1-3 choices per chapter. And reading a single chapter can take an hour or so). It's really just reading material and the storyline is actually incredibly well written and enguaging

Yeah right, you are just saying that because you get to see some naughty bits!

Granted, this is true. And you have an option to turn off the sexual content. It also does not connect itself with the story. I guess the channers who made this just had to put it in. I guess. And believe me, it goes into grand detail on this stuff. If you are into erotic fiction. I guess this is your thing. But it's not happening every 20 pages. Usually it takes about three hours worth of reading to get to this point. And the visual novel does not shove this down your throat.

Should you pick this up?

I don't see why not. Hell, storyline (as I have praised numerous times) is actually good and it's Free to download

Music is also pretty good. Very good ambiance! Some hilarious scenes! And if you are into that kinda kinky shit then this game is good to go!
