Damn, I take it no one is planning on picking it up?
Ah well, I got some time to kill. Might as well write up my review of the game.
For starters, I can not stress enough on how much I really wanted to play this game. With it in my posession I can easily say it's one of the better titles on the PS3 with minimal flaws and annoyances. But this should not pull you away from this game.
Getting into this game at first is going to be your first issue. The control scheme is absolutely out there and it takes some mastering to get used to. Unfortunately I can not find a screenshot of what the controller looks like with everything under the freakin sun labeling what which buttons do which. But needless to say it's a clusterfuck. However! Once you get used to it, it pretty much comes natural, and only a few are really going to use 100% of the controls to even bring out their full potental. Thankfully, there is a training course that will show you the ropes. And yes, you will unlock more moves later on as you progress the story. So again, this should not push you away from the game. Think of it as a fighting game. And you just have to really learn the moves before you can jump into a madhouse.
When you -really- start playing. You might be a little disappointed that there are only three contestants who are actually competiting. Which is new to the TM franchise. But the tradeoff is that each character can drive any vehicle of your choosing. Don't like Sweet Tooth's Ice cream truck and instead want to ride around in a helecopter? You can! The stories also make up for the fact that it's live action cutscenes. Showcasing very classy B-movie type mixed in with horror, suspense, and a little comedy!

You have Sweet Tooth. An Ex-Ice cream truck driver turned serial killer. Mr. Grim, the son of a stunt man who passed away, and finally Dollface, a very jealous model who has a horrible accident and wishes to get her looks back. Each character in the story is interesting. But Calypso really takes the show. Each wish Calypso adds a "Twist" to each of their wishes. Which is pretty iconic in the series.
Sure, the story is only a small factor in this game. What you really want is mayhem. You are safe to say that this game really has some amazing single player action as well as multiplayer being an absolute blast to play. With the game running at 60FPS. The only minor annoyance would be slight glitches in camera angles. And maybe even the annoying fall or two. But there will be instances where the fight you will be in (Story mode) will be seriously unfair. Even on normal difficulties; this game will be punishing. But also very satisfying once you figure out how the scene works.
Boss fights are absolutely AMAZING to play. Even though there are three bosses; it's hard to say that as you pass from the first boss to the last. On increasing difficulties. The only one I had a problem was with Iron Maiden. The 2nd boss. The final boss is just annoying more than just plain difficult.
Did I mention that this game is hard? Cause I am going to stress this again. This game is disgustingly hard and it only gets harder. And with unlocks if you can beat the game on the hardest mode while getting a gold medal on each level...I don't want to think about that right now. But yeah. There are times where this game can get a little insane.
Multiplayer right now is a mess. But it should be ironed out in a week or two. But when you are in a match online it's very sweet to get out and kill fellow players online. With perks, skins, and more to unlock; this game will have you coming back for more to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Final Thoughts: Reviewers say that if you are new to the series you might not enjoy this game. But I somewhat disagree. Twisted Metal is an old game. And this reboot should be getting new fans into the series. If you can get your hands on this game then you won't be disappointed on how fun this game can get with either four of your friends online or even multiplayer. It's not a game that is going to wow you with looks. But it should wow you on how destructive this game can get.
Is the the best PS3 game? No. I don't have a "Best" PS3 game. But it's easily one of the best on the console.
Also if you own the game and beat it. Keep watching after the credits. And if you know it. Don't spoil it.
