Wow I am happy to see this theme still around!
Acmlm and I made it long before we had some of the newer features like Polls. In fact I am quite embarrassed about the Japanese only being Katakana. I can't wait to see it tweaked up!
Thanks for still finding it of use! |

The Onion is always hilarious. Thanks for sharing that. I also found the Mac Wheel one to be equally as funny. |

I use quite a few different keyboards on a daily basis:
My main one on my home computer is an old Dell Spring-Key from the late 90's. It has the Windows Key and I need that since I use synergy with two other computers, one being a Mac. I've developed this bad dyslexia thing over the years and having the solid feed back not only helps that, it also helps when you are typing fast you know by the sound and the physical feedback that you typed the key without looking at either the screen or the keyboard. The biggest downside is it's a large keyboard and does take up a good portion of the working space on that desk. (This is the keyboard
My main laptop has the Chicklet style keyboards. I find the space makes it easier to type, but for me I tend to typo more with it since I've always had a bit of a heavy handed approach since I type fast. The different spacing tends to slow me down just enough to where I do a better job.
The one I use at work is a standard dell soft-key keyboard. Not my favorite.
It comes down to what you like. If you are a heavy gamer sometimes the PS/2 connector isn't robust enough to register all the keys. However they do make gamer specific spring keyboard:

I'd be interested to see if anyone has actually used one, and if so their opinions.

Ok fine you even dragged me out. It's been a while. Hello..
and.. Glad to see Blades around too.
I recently played with an copy from 1.A* era of the board. ||bass made a mess of it. heh, Even though it has some injection protection.
Wow 10 years.. I remember when Acmlm was coding the basic of the board in 2000. Shroomy, Wonderswan (I think he was around at this point), and I watching has the board took shape.

I'm still kind of a boring person. However I am going up to a friend's house and we're going to take a train down to the local national park. We're going to take some pictures of the foliage before they die. Just hang out and have fun.
Orlandu: Wow, TWO kids? Congrats my friend!

I think they have something if they do indeed tie in Windows Phone support into those desktop Metro apps. It would allow you to use the same app on all three device types for (possibly) the same price. Regardless Microsoft could have the advantage even if the phone apps still end up being separate. They also have better Multiscreen + Full screen app support than Apple does with Lion. I am not a fan of full screen apps, but unlike Apple Win8 will allow you to open one app per screen (including the Classic Desktop). I have an iPad I got for supporting them at work, and mostly it sits unused. There may be a better chance that people might use it if it was the same as their computer?

Ah, but... I've interacted with you much more recently than blades~
When did I initially register, again? Wasn't it the 23rd of December, 2003? Or was it the 13th?
True.
For "on the record purposes"
The Registration times for Acmlm and I on the original Live version
Acmlm: 01-22-01 11:09 PM
Myself: 01-22-01 11:31 PM
..and for the first development board it was during Christmas (Acmlm would know this better than I) 12-20-00~1-22-01

Ahh Indeed. I just lumped it together since his name is more assigned with that branch than anyone.
Lucky the board was popular at that time. It benefited a lot by being at a time the exploits were not as well known/obscure.
I remember when we launched it was still using flat-files, and well.. Acmlm asked for a MySQL DB not too long after that. After about 5+ or so attempts to access the board it wouldn't fully write out he file streams and everything would just get truncated. |

I used to run into that myself. Have you ever thought of using Synergy? I use a MBP and a Win7 tower at the same time. It works well.
I would recommend using it over an ssh tunnel for security. |

This actually threw me off for a moment - you do mean per monitor, I'm guessing? The inability to use a full screen app on another screen in Lion actually bothered me when I tried using my laptop with my main monitor. (For a moment I was thinking multiple desktops and it was really throwing me off until I actually started posting this.)
Yup, that's what I was talking about. I'm a multi monitor user, and having one that linen background makes it useless. I do hear some graphics apps will use the second monitor for the full screen app that is currently running. IE: Pallets and Tools, but I've not seen this myself however. |

I've looked into that program before for when I use my Macbook Air and my Windows laptop next to each other- in that particular situation though the other computer is a lab machine, so I don't know if I'd be allowed to install outside software. (Though somehow iTunes got on there, what the hell)
I think as long as you have admin privileges, and your network doesn't have polices that block it you may be able to actually use it. Supposedly it's only suppose to work over the same subnet, however at work it has connected without being in the same subnet. (I RDP'd into the synergy server machine with a client and it make computing more of a challenge! ) |

Don't forget copying a backup version of the files when editing a post, so when activity went up, well.
And the world-viewable user files.
Yes.. I forgot about that. :/ At least it didn't take too long for the switch to a MySQL backend.
I started talking to Acmlm when I was working on Mario Allstars stuff. That was back on the old WWWThreads board. Fun stuff! |

Temp:48˚F
Weather: Cloudy, chance of thunderstorms later.
Gabu: Since we didn't get any snow (thankfully) I'm actually digging the colder temperatures. But I'm nuts, I love the cold (and burn up in the heat.) lol |
