It tends to be the case that a person can think, "If that was real, the world would be a better place." What this is could be any one of a great many things. Weapon? Person? Species? Element of the table? Likewise there are several places the 'thing' in question could have originated. The content could come entirely from one person's mind, or perhaps written out in a book. And even further, a public movie or video game may have had this instead. But regardless the case, every scenario turns out the same: the 'thing' does not exist and, in these worldly conditions that we all know, never will.
But consider where the 'thing' is from. What is, or was, their world like? How do, or did people live? And where do things that our world takes for granted fit in with theirs, if at all? And then we try to consider this universe, this perhaps fanatical illusion, and compare it to our own. What makes it special compared to us? Why should we place it in higher regard over our own? Or, why does our world, torn in strife with an inter-species set of wars that never seems to end, appeal to their universe, and the opposite as well?
Per example, think of a universe that we all know of. Mario, perhaps. Or Halo even, everybody's heard of that one by now. If you think Harry Potter's a good common universe then take it. Now, what is it in this universe that you might desire? What would another person desire? What in our universe would the people of theirs want from us? Which universe, by what you think, would hold out to be the superior one? (And what makes it so? People staying on one side as opposed to the other? Or just having the best army?) Further, if both universes were combined and made one, what would things be like then?
Many ideas can be made from any combination, I believe. Put forth what you think of one universe being compared to our own, and let us discuss feverently the similarities, differences, and possibilities that may arise from intermingling worlds and.
