I don't know exactly WHY... but somehow I have the gut feeling that Disgaea 3 will see a Wii port eventually. Just a hunch but I figure there's nothing that can't be pulled off on that and NIS might be in profit-hunting mode with a hot franchise for all we know.
Same situation (on a larger scale) happened when Square Enix announced Dragon Quest IX for the DS when everyone probably thought it was a lock for PS3. Can you blame them for wanting to potentially sell a crapload of copies? (Which they'll do easily; it's Dragon Quest in Japan after all.)

NIS America wastes NO time, do they? Wonder what the DS will get as an extra - Flonne Mode? (Actually, just put Wi-Fi on the game for online battles.)
Graphics do look damn good on those screens, though; looks like the top screen will act as a radar.
(And while I'll probably have Disgaea PS2 good and beat by then... I'll probably end up playing through this. Even if it's a PSP port, I can just play through Etna Mode.)
And as for Rhapsody... NICE. I'll be looking to see if that gets an American release. (Wonder what else they could theoretically port... La Pucelle?)

Why not?
I had to go to two stores today. The first one had four empty shelves where Brawl was supposed to be and I don't know if they either sold out, didn't put it on shelves yet or had the shipment delayed.
The second store... had 4 copies on the shelf. XD And I got a Wii baseball cap free!
(I know we have a Brawl thread. I'm just avoiding it for a while. )

NIS America finally updated their website. Just press releases for the new stuff but they did confirm that the DS version is a PSP port, meaning Etna Mode and multiplayer are in as well as the grid map on the top screen and optional stylus control.

From a Canadian standpoint... oh boy this doesn't look good. If I had a vote, I'd have to vote Democrat and I guess I'd have to vote Hillary. I don't think Obama's ready yet for the top job and something about him rubs me the wrong way... I don't know exactly what though. At least Hillary can rely on Bill for advice and that - maybe not the BEST advice but better than a kick in the head...
Oh wait, Nader's running again right? I could go piss my vote away!

Crispy Gamer also asked Niida if we'd ever see a Disgaea game on the 360 or Wii, to which he replied coyly, "Who knows, you might see something interesting coming out later in the year."
Disgaea 3 for Wii announced by the end of the year. Book it. (Yeah, I'm convinced... and if there's a choice, it's not gonna be 360 for Japan market purposes.)
The big news won't be the port but how they manage to cram everything into the DS. That's actually a hell of a feat.

The Japanese Nintendo fanboys more so, I assume (although I'm sure some American fanboys were begging too).
Hey, if they say everything's in there, then either they're going to do a great compression job or the sound quality's going to be crap.

I'm surprised it took them this long to *POSSIBLY* fix the series. I mean, it seems that the only decent Sonic games recently have been the 2D ones for GBA/DS as well as Secret Rings. So basically you try to take what made those two games good and drop what people hated about the other games (Shadow, Sonic '06, etc.)
Sonic's due for a good run. Between this and Chronicles (which I have high hopes for with Bioware handling it), maybe this is it.
