Also I've been thinking doing Kirby's Adventure Boss Runs cheating in the different abilities. (Basically single ability runs).
On a TAS it involves a very interesting problem where Metaknight can only be damaged when the "ability value" is set to Sword, so to make it a true single ability run I would have to frame-by-frame manipulate this right as Kirby is attacking (when using a common ability, that is)

This game is crazy hard. Mostly though because of both some control issues (you drop down when shooting) and annoying enemies.
Or maybe I just suck at it.
Also that's a link to an stream which i'm having trouble setting up because Xsplit is broken.

SIDEWAYS SLASHWell, personally I think if you don't like the later games of a series, it means you HAVE stopped liking the series itself anymore; even though you still like individual games.
I mean, for all I retroactively beat and hate Gen. I more with each game, I still appreciate it for the sake of being part of the series. But the other way around it means you don't like where it has gone, so the logical thing to do is to just leave it.
Or do you seriously expect it to start going backwards and undoing things? Because that simply can't happen.
Basically what I mean is that being a fan of games and being a fan of the series as a whole are two different things.
On another note, I'm annoyed at everyone wanting BW2 for the 3DS. What's the point of that? Not many people have a 3DS, and plenty of them are the direct audience of the games-- they need to be playable on the DS because they can't risk losing sales of these games.

SIDEWAYS SLASHAnd that's perfectly okay. I mean, they are just games, of course they'll have things that won't please everyone.
And when a series runs on a "main series" of games such as this one, things that change in these games drive the series itself. So the games displeasing former fans has larger repercussions, eventually leading into disliking the "new" series. (Just see the Sonic fandom for a more extreme case... )
But yeah, don't force yourself into liking something you don't nor anything. My only problem aren't those who simply like the first games, but those who go around calling themselves "true fans".
On that note, you might want to look into some Gen I and II hacks. They generally are of high quality (those that are minimally serious, at least), particularly Pokémon Brown is really good for being a Red hack.
Also I guess side-games would be relatively extempt, deppending on what exactly you don't like, but even then you can always think of them for themselves rather than Pokémon games... right?
I'm trying to think of what 4 and 5 added to battle mechanics
Gen IV added the move class split, which screwed over some pokémon, was great for some others, but ultimately was a pretty significant change.
Gen V... uh... I guess in itself it added nothing, but touched previous concepts? Pokémon now could have more abilities, you could do multiplayer battles using items, etc.
But that's not much at all. So yeah, it added nothing. :V
Actually, back when information on it was showing up, I thought it would add the concept of grass/water/fire pledge or fusion flare/bolt, where a move has an effect on another/the field, to most moves, allowing for combos and yet another layer in the battles... Though that'd have probably gotten too complex

Come on, a thing where they have all former leaders and champions... including Blue? He would be the most fitting choice.
Specially with this music existing.
I'm not sure about the BW PC showing up, because the game really went out of their way to make sure they HAVE the dragon that won't show up in the plot of this one...

But 1. Nobody would get it 2. She takes off her helmet anyways and 3. I don't really feel like using this rankset.
I guess I could come up with a Yume Nikki (+fangames) rankset, though. The different effects should make it easy enough, and then relevant characters.

SIDEWAYS SLASHI wonder if with all this new research on image processing we will finally move away from "real is brown" and be able to actually represent light correctly; so things will have color radiance, there'll be such a thing as a natural focus, etc.
I think this is really neat, it wouldn't just apply to 3d either (as in, objects with a camera), I can see 2d art benefiting incredibly from this.
Specially when it gets done in real time. Just imagining it in Zelda's Z-Targeting is a good (and basic enough) example.
