Today it's extremely windy. 20-30 mph steady, gusting to over 40.

We've also had wild back and forth lately, going from 70F+ one day to mid-40s the next.

Fun times!

After this, it's supposed to be more steady 45-55F, so that'll be nice. I can actually adjust to the weather that way.

Was hoping someone else would chime in.

Unfortunately I can't help much. I can point you to a few specific songs I remember.

The Lutie area used Paper Mario music, IIRC - I forget exactly what was in the Field, but the town used Shiver City I believe and I know for a fact the Toy Factory used Crystal Palace. Toy Factory 2 might have used Vs. Crystal King. Field was either Shiver Mountain or Snow Road, most likely, considering the pattern.

Prontera Culvert also used Paper Mario music, specifically Bowser's Castle.

Hugel used Root Town Sigma from one of the .hack games.

There's a few other songs I was hoping to track down myself - one of the Mt. Mjolnir songs, and the one used in Prontera - but Hugel was the only one I was able to find without past experience with the source. There was a bit more Paper Mario in there - the Kobold Village, I believe, used Goomba Village for example - and given the staff I'm certain there was a fair bit more .hack.

For the most part I prefer the official music, but Toy Factory feels completely different between the two and I vastly prefer the tRO approach.

R-Type Command.

Everything was going well until the black hole.

But not for the reason you might expect!

Gains. Gains everywhere. Gains, for those unfamiliar with the game, is a series of enemy with a six-panel line attack, in a game where movement above 4 is rare. This is their wave cannon, meaning it's their strongest attack. Being a wave cannon, it has a charge time. Being bullshit, said charge time is one turn. If you don't hit them every turn it's available.

And because of that black hole, movement is reduced on roughly 95% of the map. You know, in case it wasn't bullshit enough.

That being said, I'm going to finish this damn game.

Edit: Turns out the solution was to throw the biggerest guns at it. Namely, that shiny new ten-hex dreadnought. Alright then.

Oh, I've got one for you.

Front Mission Evolved. Fucking Front Mission Evolved.

So! Front Mission. Tactical RPG series about giant mecha and the wars fought with them. Very much on the "real robot" end of the scale, not super robots - tanks and helicopters are still in use to varying effectiveness, etc.

It's had a few spinoffs, like Gunhazard, a side-scrolling action game. These spinoffs were good.

Front Mission Evolved was atrocious.

The story was nothing but utterly cliche drivel (brought to you by the writer of the Final Fantasy 13 trilogy, take that as you will), the gameplay was bland, depthless, and insultingly easy, the tone was completely wrong, what the fuck am I doing with powerups in what should be a Real Robot-style game, aaaargh

everything was wrong

Oh and sometimes you have to fight on foot. Outside of your mech. That is not what I buy a mech game for. But compared to the rest this is honestly relatively minor.
