Whoa! Now THIS is worthy of being my first wiiware purchase. I had forgotten how bad ass this game was for the NES. Can't say I'm blown away from the remade music in the video, but I am sure the overall soundtrack retains the original's charm. Also, I hope the game is long and I don't beat it in a day like other wiiware games I've played at friends' house.

I couldn't agree more. Achievement Points are the new High Score of this game era. Anyone these days can simply "beat" most games. Games are pretty darn easy nowadays. But to say you have every achievement or some well known hard achievement under your belt, means a lot, in my opinion at least.

I've stated a couple times before, the only reason I shell out $14 a month for a 4+ year old game like World of Warcraft is for the achievements. I love that there are so many. I love that they are very varied. I love seeing that achievement pop up appear. I love that it gets auto-announced to the entire guild and to any player in close proximity. I love that they make me experience parts of the game I would not normally get into.

Achievements are a major reason why I even got am Xbox 360. Granted, I am not as dedicated in getting all of the points in Xbox games like I am with WoW. Its still a big (and perhaps the only) motivator to actually turn that console on. I probably have more achievement points in WoW than all my Xbox games points combined.

I am also going out of my way to add achievements to the games I make. So yeah, I do care about em and do indeed go out of my way to get em.

Those are really neat looking pics, nice find. So they are NOT powered by magical time-traveling elves?

Really though, how after seeing them all, my perception of them being super fun happy magical machines of goodness seems diminished. They are just mostly empty boxes filled with boring wires and non-magical components. I little bit of the kid in me has died.

Are you fucking serious? Please please tell me that the editor is just so powerful and flexible that ANY kind of game can be made and they just happened to choose to make a bullet hell game. And not that somehow the editor naturally lends itself to make Touhou games. Because I love playing custom WC3 maps and very much look forward to playing custom SC2 maps, but I loathe Touhou games and I really do not want to see the entire custom games list filled with bullet hell maps...

Obviously this is impressive and kudos to the makers...but I really hope SC2 did not just get ruined for me.

Great little game. I absolutely love the sound effects and his voice. Where do people come up with these great retro sounding sounds?

Hehe wow, was mostly being coy/devil's advocate here guys, no need to break out the flame remarks. Just wanted to stir up some SC2 talk, not piss people off. I know the editor is at least capable of making the "shit" maps I like to play on WC3. The truth is, people could upload the most offensive, twisted, retarded looking custom SC2 map onto YouTube, and its still a release day buy for me.

Note to self: try to avoid bashing bullet hell games in the future.

Oh man! Those were some juicy videos. That drill power-up has got to be my favorite new feature. There's so much shiny goodness in this game, I almost can't believe it. I am loving the seemingly large focus on 2-D platforming style levels. The only thing that would improve the game, is a more full fledged multiplayer aspect. Controlling the elebit luma guy is not enough to prevent fist fights to see who gets to play as Mario among my friends and I.

July 27th eh. Good. Now I know by when I have to have completed Mario Galaxy 2, HeartGold, and Loremaster Achievement. Because come the 27th, I will be departing this Earth and this realm we refer to as real life and immersing myself in mineral fields and vespene geysers until my mouse and/or keyboard die. Good times.

Oh man. This game is depressing me bigtime. Not because its not a fantastic game, but because I so had this exact same idea for a game several years ago. I even started on some prototypes on more than one occasion. I just never got around to really finishing it. Seeing its popularity rise makes me really regret this.

Fantastic game, and really Im gonna use it as motivation. You guys want the Blaster Master tank..you got it.
*Goes to work*

I wouldn't consider it on steroids since really there are less things to do in this game than in SMB2. The block throwing and puzzles are definitely like SMB2 and are very enjoyable but SMB2 has killing enemies, climbing vines, pow blocks, sub-con, end of world bosses and power-ups. Enemies are kinda bland, but obviously this game as a whole oozes style and ambiance.

I can't get all that far in the game because I keep dieing to stupid control mistakes. For some reason I keep wanting to jump with A and pick up with S. I wish I could swap the controls.

Well that settles it, this guy is awesome and there is no way I can continue my version of this. This trailer genuinely got me real excited for this update, truly great stuff. I also can't believe he mentions that Ryu is not overpowered, he was absolutely destroying, literally destroying the levels like a ... well like a bad-ass ninja.

Unbefuckingleavable! This RB3 info literally made me shout in pure joy. I did not think they would actually do something like this crazy pro mode. I don't care if the whole set-up sets me back $500, I have to play this keytar and new guitar NOW! I can't remember the last time I was this exited for a game.

Very much awesome yes. I know that pro mode was gonna kick my ass..but wow. I can barely complete some of these songs on medium pro keys. I definitely love the new career mode. It's more straightforward and easier to see progress made after each game session.

But even more interesting than all that, is the set list. I have not been this pleasantly surprised by song choice since ..I don't know..Guitar Hero 2 perhaps.. I mean I knew the set list long before release and was exited like past RB games. But after actually playing these songs solo and with my buddies, I really like em..a lot of em, not just the obvious ones like Bohemian Rhapsody and Roundabout but also the funky choices like the James Brown song(I feel Good), and The Beach Boys' Good Vibrations.

I look forward to mastering the keys and eventually getting the Pro Guitar and getting my butt kicked again. Good times ahead. Anyone else feel the same?

Completely agree with everything said. The game has never been more accessible to new players. The new zones really do ease you in and the revamped talent trees guide new players into a suitable build. It really does feel like a new game with every class getting a significant overhaul in terms of levels they get skills and of course the new skills they get 81-85.

The new guild perks and advancement are what really turn me on, it really makes being in a good guild essential to squeezing all you can from your character, thankfully, I am in a huge active guild. The new zones, while some underwhelming in terms of style, are still very fun. Buncha new quests types and in-game cinematics really stand this expac apart. My favorite new zone is definitely Uldum with its Egyptian theme and archeology-ancient ruins quests style. Harrison Jones... nuff said.

I rushed to 85 and got it within a week of launch, unfortunately I have been preoccupied by so many other games that I have not played much after I level capped. My main's armory link: Rohbert

Yeah, to be honest, this looked lame to me. Boring and could not fathom how one would pay for a incomplete game. Boy was I a moron. This "incomplete game" is funner and more unique than anything I've played in years.

So yeah, AlexAR64 is my login and I hope to be allowed to wander around in a your multiplayer world. Thanks.

Interesting that this thread is made, what with Black and White just around the corner, I too have dusted off my Diamond and Heart Gold and re-immersed myself in pokemon goodness.

So I was looking at re making my go to team to farm the elite four, so of course I hit the usual places (serebii, gamefaqs..) for move-set info, type charts and all that jazz. I was going back and forth between websites and quickly remembered what a pain it was to consolidate all this info into a fully functioning pokemon team.

I knew of online tools that help you determine movesets given a pokemon, but I wanted something more encompassing and fancier. I started thinking..hell, I'm studying CS, might as well put that knowledge to work. So for the passed couple days, I have been making a "Visual Pokemon move set reference evaluator thing" Think of a better name and get a free pokemon of you choice :p

So yeah, its been a learning experience and relaxing too, to work on something non-school related. Screenshots are all works in progress of course:

I'd like to think its all self explanatory just from seeing those screenshots. The user selects a move type (Fire, Grass, Electric) and then pokeballs represent which of the 4 selected moves is effective/non-effective against that element.

When I make a team, my main goal is to cover as many types as possible given my available pokemon. With so many pokemon and moves available now, its sometimes its hard to see the best combination of pokemon. This program aims to help you quickly and efficiently see they types your moves cover. It will also display the pokemon capable of learning the currently selected move-set.

To Do:
List the pokemon capable of learning the selected move set
Finish Dual Type functionality
Add ability to choose a specific pokemon to evaluate selected move set against
Add pokemon team presets to evaluate your move set against(Elite Four teams from all the games, Gym Leaders...)
Create and display 6 move sets, representing the player's whole team
Other shit I will think of later that will guarantee this project takes way longer than it should

I'd love to hear what yall think.

Even though they are both placed in the "platformers" genre, we all know they have very different styles and represent 2 very different kinds of gameplay. So its hard to really say which is "better" since they cover different ground. Only because we had a NES/SNES and not a Genesis in the house as a kid, I vote SMW because it naturally holds a spot in my fond childhood memories.

I do agree with Imajin though, SMB3 kicks SMW's ass.

Yeah, I got bit confused too. Apparently, in America for the passed month or so GameStop has been giving away the 3 legendary dogs in store. That is all over with.
Later, GameStop will be giving away celebi too starting Feb 21 - March 7.

In addition to that, Nintendo themselves are giving away those same legendary dogs through wifi. As in you don't have to leave the house.

Raikou is February 7 - February 13
Entei is February 14 - February 20
Suicune is February 21 - February 27

Perhaps celebi will be given away too through wifi, but cant find any confirmation.

This is all for America according to serebii and so far its all true, since, well I have gotten every single dog from GameStop for my Diamond cart and just got Raikou too for my HeartGold cart.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
