I don't really care too much about the new raid, since I'm never geared for em. But the dual-spec, equipment manager and all the various UI and class enhancements still make this an epic update. The 1k gold cost for dual spec is like a kick to the balls, but since there adding new quests, I guess I can make the money quickly enough.

Its gonna take massive will power to not re-subscribe if this thing comes out before May 15th. (End of semester)

Fantastic job Treeki. The editor works great. Now I know you said you're working on entrance support, but I was hoping you could implement some simple little features that would make the editor much more user friendly.

I don't know the reason you can't display enemies, but you can obviously differentiate them since you are displaying those sprite numbers. A simple little tooltip with the sprite's name would be awesome. That way I don't need to keep a separate notepad open with a list of the sprite numbers and their corresponding names.

Also, having to go up to the height/width boxes to resize blocks is a bit clunky. Editing would be much more fluid if you could stretch blocks in the main window with the mouse like lunar magic does.

I would like think these features are at least simpler to implement than entrance support, if instead they require major rocket surgery, roll our eyes and call me a noob and do what ya want cuze its your program.

Again, great work here man.

Wow, fast reply.. anyways I was gonna edit my post with this..

if sprite number is marked as known
then display its tooltip
else display unkown sprite

And yeah that white square resizing thing is so small I would have never seen it if you hadn't mentioned it. Works great though.

Question, the map 16 window is just for show for now? Can it do anything?

Also, if I open the mini map, close it and scroll down with my wheel mouse I get this error every time:

You know I constantly hear these amazing stories of how people can make thousands of gold in less than a day on the forums and what not... yet in game everyone is poor and hurting for money. I have maxed mining skill, but that hardly nets me any gold at all. Titanium nodes are too rarely found to keep up with all those little everyday expenses like travel and repair.

Hopefully those argent tournament quests reward some descent gold rewards or its gonna be rough seeing people running around with their shiny new dual specs laughing at my mono-spec noobness.

Also, 4000 achievements, holy lord that is insane, I think i barely have maybe 2700. I'd link my armory, but its not working at the moment.

I'm a little busy killing dirty horde whenever I'm in WG, no time for mining. :p If I'm gonna farm nodes, I usually go to IceCrown anyways. Armory is finaly back up. My main, Rohbert. heh, didnt realize I had that many achievement points. I think it was all the Lunar festival and Love is in the Air events ones I forgot that I did.

Anyways, I'm gonna stop fighting the urge and probably re-suscribe this weekend...I'm so weak willed.

WTF indeed at the end of 1-8. Maybe you can turn that bug into a feature. You touched the flag pole and froze in place while the time score bonus happened. Maybe you can make a type of insta level clear block.

Anyways, that looks really good. I am really looking forward to see what ya do with the other games.

Sometimes I get depressed that some people are so much more creative and funny than me.

I laughed for 10 minutes watching/playing this.

Then I got depressed. Good times.

Yeah, I went ahead and took advantage of that $9 for Orange Box deal on Steam couple months back so have all those cept Counter Strike. I thoroughly enjoyed Portal and beat it within a week. And even TF2 is a very good game, in the end its just not exactly my kind of shooter. Its good to know what games people have though...

You can't get any more 3D Classic Zelda 1 than this. The dungeon puzzle switch scene, falling rocks like in Death Mountain, super magic sword on altar ala Master Sword, orchestral-adventuring music...If this is a real game being released by anyone other than Nintendo, I would imagine some phone calls from said company will be made.

...Or maybe we are just such blind fanboys that we see anyone wearing a tunic and sword as Link. I'm gonna ask my non gamer friends to see if they think this is Zelda...doh all my friends are gamers :p

Posted on 09-15-09 02:54:04 AM, in Has a ROM ever made you buy the physical game? Link
This really got me thinking. As I started going back in my memory, I started to feel bad because, I think I have played to completion more games on a emulator than in physical form. As a gamer who says he supports gaming as a business and as legitimate entertainment/art/something of real value, I think this is saying something very bad bout me.

The whole, "oh I'm just a poor student living off Ramen and Cheerios, I cant be buying games left and right" excuse has run its course.

..anyways..to answer your question..Yes I bought Disgaea DS, Disgaea 2 for PS2, Pokemon Red, and M&L SuperStar Saga after having played their roms and being utterly impressed with their gameplay...and disappointed with the emulation quality. See, I only bought them cause at the time, I could not emulate them at 100%, so I was forced to buy them to enjoy them. Again, that's a bad thing, and I'm going to hell for it.

Well, aside from learning to quickly manage resources and tactics in RTS games, games got me curious bout how they work. This lead me into computers..which lead to choosing Computer Science as my major..which lead to learning how to make games..which lead to learning how hard it is to make a fun bugless game. So yeah they taught me plenty.

Hell, in my book you're not a true gamer if you don't have that one game, that you keep going back to over and over..even after you've found every secret and easter egg. I think the first game I did that with was probably Donkey Kong Country 1 for the SNES. I remember playing that game for my entire elementary school life. Seeing how many lives I could accumulate before beating the game..

Super Mario 64 was the same..then Perfect Dark..then I got into PC gaming..oh oh.. I must have played Diablo 2 every day for 2 years straight. Most recently Disgaea DS. Here's hoping I come across another total time consumer.

I'm sure I could google this or even look it up in my Xbox 360 owners manual, but quite frankly, I'd rather stir up some action in this thread.

So I'm playing my shiny new Guitar Hero 5 when my friend gets online and sends me a message that we should play some Halo 3. I message him telling him I don't have Xbox Live Gold anymore so no go. I go back to Guitar shredding for a bit before powering off. Later that day he tells me that we don't need a gold subscription to play online with each other. He can just invite me to join his gaming session and we can play any game we both own. I laugh in his face and give him the stink eye.

He can only play on weekends so we haven't been able to test his crazy made up theory...so I ask you. Was my rude gesture warranted, or can you really play for example Halo 3 Co-op Campaign mode over xbox live with no subscription? How bout Guitar Hero Co-Op or GoW 2?

So yeah, just to confirm, you cannot play with any type of game with friend if you don't have a Gold Subscription. My "Invite to game" option isn't even selectable, nor is my "Accept Game Invite" So yeah that sucks.

Also, in response to your 250GB HDD link, I had no idea Microsoft was charging so much for its bigger HDDs. I'm on the verge of filling up my retail one and was thinking about buying a bigger one, now that I see its $150 for a measly 120GB, I think I'll instead start playing more PC and less Xbox

My thoughts exactly. I really hope they don't completely change the GH formula of playing with a fake plastic guitar with 5 buttons and strum. If Natal-features force me to dance around and act like a jackass in front of my TV like a drunk singer to "5-Star" a song, I'm pawning all my GH stuff.

Also, In my opinion GH5 is a good chunk better than World Tour, in terms of career advancement and gameplay features (like jump in mode). In terms of track-lists, they bout the same.

I really want to get RB Beatles becuase I'm loyal to these guitar games but...I just can't. See, the moments I enjoy the most in GH and RB are after I nail a super hard solo on expert. I love conquering super difficult licks and 5 starring those insanely hard songs.

I don't see the Beatles music having any of that. Sure their music is great to listen to, but crazy hard epic guitar solos they are not. I would hate to be able to 5 star every song on my first play through, so i think I'll pass on this one. Rock Band: Led Zeppelin, now there's a game I can sink my teeth into.

..I can dream can't I...

Further proof that the track-list wont be the issue..at least not for me. I've no doubt the songs will be great. What really has me curious/worried is the gameplay. This is one game, I will most certainly be playing at my local BestBuy/Gamestop extensively first before making a decision.

I never though I'd enjoy playing a plastic toy guitar, hopefully this game's controller will convince me just like the Guitar.

Even though Xbox 360 controllers work on PC's just fine. I highly doubt the opposite is true. My current Logitech PC controller is on loan to my nephew, so I cant try it out. But I'd be super surprised if usb pc gamepads worked on the 360.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
