Why the hell would you think I meant Boss Battle mode? lol Of course I meant the regular boss battles in Subspace Emissary mode. And since no one confirmed intense mode was any better for getting trophy stands to spawn during boss fights, I'll stick to hard/very hard.

Thanks Red Snifit, I added you, hopefully we can brawl and hopefully the connection will be cooperative.

You can never go wrong with a 1-1 recreation. You know level 1-1 from SMB (NES).
Obviously, dealing with an extra dimension will throw a wrench into the works, but some sort of funess can be squeezed out if this no doubt.

If the whole world could be constricted to a narrow(er) plane, you could more easily accomplish this.

A simpler idea would be to make a really cool/complex tower. You know the Top of the Tower Mission in Thwomp's Fortress? I like that concept of climbing up and up a tower, going in circles around it. You mentioned that only mushroom platforms can be used so...I guess this isnt feasible...

I guess you are actually pretty limited in terms of level design with only grass platforms and mushroom platforms. You could create a mission where every type of jump is required.

Two platforms that require a long jump to get across, two walls close to each other that require wall jumping, a section requiring backflips/U-turn jumps.. I don't know.. Perhaps a section where you have to continualy jump on those shy guys and float across large gaps.

I'll design some of these ideas in a 3-D app to better explain. Woohoo for some free time!!! School is OUT!!..at least until the summermester starts

Oh and by the way, all the work you have done concerning SM64 and its inards is just astounding. It makes me feel unimportant and lazy when you post all your discoveries and insights into the game's code. I really hope you continue your work towards a more flexible, dynamic SM64 editor.

Not to say ToadsTool is not fantastic already( Vl Tone is still a god), its just that I personally stopped using after I realized I could create more original/fun stuff with other game editors that are more open and versatile.

Your screenshots look very polished and I have no doubt your game is fun. Unfortunately, I cant seem to patch your ips to any Yoshi Island ROM. 1.0, 1.1, J US E none seem to work..the graphics are all garbled.

I am using ZSNES 1.51 on Vista. Every other rom and ips that I've patched with Lunar IPS works perfectly. I am not sure if its your ips file, or compatibility issues with the emulator. I'd love to try this. Do you have a never version of the ips, or any special details on patching your ips?

Interesting stuff. Regardless whether this is even remotely doable and/or fun this was fun to make...hehe I'll make the tower level later.

Errr..headered? I didn't touch the rom's innards if that's what you are referring to. I simply downloaded it from ***** making sure it read 1.0 US and applied the ips.

Assuming that the rom should NOT have a header, I downloaded this NSRT app from romhacking.net. It says the rom has no header...so I'm at a bit of a loss here. I'l just try different YI roms from other sources.

Oh duh..it Supposed to have a header..hehe I just added one with the app and now it works perfectly thanks Tanks.

Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, Wrath of Lich King. I am REALLY curious about release dates for this perfect storm. Are things gonna be spread out with years in between games? Is anything coming out before 2009? Will my head explode from all this gaming goodness?

Those 2 videos gave me goosebumps. Hehe, yes, hearing a dude talk about a barbarian's skills gave me goosebumps. But seriously, they should improve the battle.net setup. Visible friends list, less/no bot spammage, and free epics for me.

I do agree, they should limit the world randomization and hand-craft as many areas as possible. It makes the game areas more memorable.

Wow, those screens look very nice and detailed. I bet it took you ( or whoever drew those graphics) a long time to get em so detailed. Will your game have collectible power ups that the player needs to explore the castle, like double jump, block pushing, or bat transformation?

This being Castlevania 3, are you gonna have a wall climbing power or spell casting power ups? What about the music? The music, for me, was hands down the most memorable aspect of your last hack. Will this one include custom music as well?

Keep up the great work Dr. Mario.

That sounds great Dr. Mario, just the way I imagined it. Now, I know you're not taking suggestions, but you know what would be cool, if your secondary weapons could to toggled through. You know, the axe, dagger and holy water items. I always hated how in the original games, you'd have to lose one to gain another, most times unwillingly as you plowed through candles and such.

Being able to press down+B or something to let you switch from axe to throwing dagger would be a cool feature. You could implement them as genuine power ups too. Like there could be barriers that only an axe could break, or switches that could only be hit with a thrown dagger.

Just my 2 cents. Oh, and I vote for infinite lives, game over screens are so depressing.

This is beyond extraordinary VL-Tone, truly. I have so many questions about this, but it's probably better if I just keep my ignorant mouth shut. But, I have to ask one thing. Did you make those 3d models, simply "import" them into the game via whatever method, and those models "worked" perfectly? As in, did you have to worry about adding collision to em.

I see in your screenshot, Mario is clearly standing on it. Do slopes act like slopes? Steep walls act like walls? If I designed a simple small 3d landscape with a hill, square box and floating platform, would it all act right without me having to explicitly tell the game how Mario should interact with each land feature?

Wow, that is out of this world dude, seriously. You have officially made SMB3 your bitch and it does what you command without question. Truly great work DahrkDaiz.

Question, does Ice Mario have any offensive capability? Do his ice balls kill stuff just like a fire ball, or does it encase em in an ice block?

Fantastic job. I cant beleive all the new music you put in this. Great story, great presentation and above all, very fun to play.

Few issues, you didn't change the little jingle when you clear a level by getting the eight not symbol, nor the music when you clear a castle and then blow it up. The original music sounds so out of place in this hack.

But far more pressing an issue, is the extreme lag in almost every level. It really bogs down the great gameplay. I will comment more once I've found all the secrets and exits.

Still, this is an instant classic hack in my book.

Yeah, when my friends and I get together for some Rock Band, we cannot end the gaming session without playing that song once and of course reciting that entire SNL skit while playing it.

On a side note, I say its kinda dumb when these 2 games (Guitar Hero / Rock Band) have overlapping songs. I don't know ANYONE who doesn't have both games, so its just a waste of a track.

Another note, does anyone recommend getting GH Aerosmith? I have heard nothing but negative things about it. I'd hate to have to pass on any GH game, but if its that bad, I have many other games I'd save my money for.

Well, then those people are missing out on a ton of great Rock Band songs. Even though I also prefer Guitar Hero's more wacky, less realistic style, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by ignoring Rock Band's tracks because of the game's more conventional style.

Although I, unfortunately, do the same thing with other games. For instance: even though the games have sold eleventy billion copies, and always garner 10/10's, I refuse to buy/play Final Fantasy games because I'm just stubborn like that.

Same with GH/RB/RR, although Rock Revolution so far looks pathetic in comparison...

..I was gonna say something about why I don't play FF games, but its best not to start this whole thing. I'll just say, If Mario and company ever make an appearance in a FF game, then I'll get it.

I too think I enjoyed GH2 more than 3. I am pretty sure I have logged on more hours on 2 than 3. GH3's bonus songs are just atrocious, (except Impulse) and unfortunately, I just haven't gotten around to buying space bucks to get those downloadable ones from XBox Live.

As per Logitech making Guitar Controllers, only good can come from this..i think. Not only does this increase competition to make better controllers overall, but also these guys definitely make quality stuff. I still have an old Logitech Dual Action PC controller that's lasted longer than my last PC/TV/Car. :p

Sept 14th correct? That's a Sunday, weird. Although I think GH3 also came out on a Sunday. Anyways, I am REALLY pumped for this game. I never actually bought Rock Band 1 since my friends got it and I am constantly over there. But I already pre ordered this game and drums and I am itching big time to play this game's songssetlist (4 Videos)

It is exclusive for X360, but only for a couple months. It will be released for PS3 eventually. I also was hoping I could use my wireless GH3 guitar since its my fave. I saw a vid on youtube...let me see if I can fi..there we go.

In this vid, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=za2o6xfBnfUthey are mostly talking about the awesome new drum trainer mode, but at the end of the video, at 6:38 it seems like the guy is indeed using the GH3 guitar on their preview version of RB2. Woohoo

I will most likely renew my XBox Live account for this game, and GH:WT, so If anyone wants to hit me up for some multiplayer world band tour action, hit me up. AlexAR64 is my tag.

You have RB2 already? A day early? Arghhh you! All RB1 instruments work on RB2. Everyone over at the GamesFaqs.com board has confirmed this.

I actually already bought the RB2 drums and they feel great. Since the pads are rubber, they are whisper quite compared to the RB drumset which is pretty much the main reason I got them. I couldn't stand hearing the plastic drum heads over the music in RB1.

Employee perk? I worked at a Gamestop too, for exactly 5 hours. I will spare you the details. (No, I didn't suck so bad that they fired me)

As for Rock Band 2. Its sweet. They really simplified the whole tour mode thing and it works better IMO. I love being pleasently surprised by songs I predicted would surely suck, then turn out to be damn fun to play. (Aqualung, Float On, One Way or Another) I lol'd when I saw they were including that Alanis Morisette song, thinking it was a ridiculously stupid choice. After playing it, I lol'd at how wrong I was, it has one of the funnest bass lines ever.

The timing window for hitting notes has definitely been increased too so I'm gold starring songs on Expert left and right, woohoo, on guitar that is, I still struggle to beat most songs on expert drums though.

Anyways, fun times ahead. I gotta play this game to death ASAP, before GH:WT comes out, then I gotta play that game to death ASAP, before WoW:WoTLK comes out on Now. 13th, then I gotta figure out how I am gonna pass my classes since I've been playing so many games to death that I haven't done my work/study. Fun times indeed.

Add away, that's why I posted my tag. ( I haven't bought my XLive subscription yet though, I am seriously low on $$$

I so wana join a tourney to show off my skills, I am assuming my school will have one since they had one for RB1 and GH3, takes these damn college students forever to get one organized lol. And yeah, when I draw the short straw and have to sing whenever we play RB1, my voice gets real tired, real fast regardless of difficulty.

After singing like 3 songs, I can feel my throat drying up and straining. Its not that Im singing loud, I guess its just that Iv never exercised my singing muscles. I haven't actually sang any RB2 song(haven't bought mic).

I should start singing in the shower like normal folk do and level up my singing skills. :p

Looks pretty darn fun to me. Design is nice, look is nice. Are you hacking anything other than world layout? Like new physics, moves, or objects? How would you rate the difficulty compared to the original? Planning on requiring any of those crazy morphball/Speed Boot moves? (Hope not for the only move I can do reliably is wall jumping)

If you can't think of a good storyline, don't bang your head about it too much. Pretty much all but the most unique storylines take a backseat to awesome gameplay that is Super Metroid. Although, I am curious as to how you came up with those area names. Are they referencing something? I bet they are and I'm totally clueless to it. :p

Keep up the good work. Its a great feeling when your actually enthused in your project. I haven't felt like even looking inside my romhacking folder in 2 years+

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
