Well..Mega Man 2 and Bionic Commando (NES version) did both release in 1988 (Japan). Both by Capcom, not same composer though. Not trying to be an ass or anything..but a lot of NES games' sounds/music sound very similar to me. Its just a limitation of the hardware really. There's only so many ways you can modify a boop, beep sound.

Speaking from personal experience, I highly recommend trying out the game first before purchasing. Or just make sure it can be returned for store credit or something in case you don't like it. See for me it went like this: I am a HUGE Guitar Hero /RockBand fan. Could do every song on expert..loved the whole thing. Was super anxious to try pro mode in RB3 when it first came out.

Was completely horrified at how non-fun, un-intuitive and overall frustrating pro mode guitar was. I could already play some real guitar beforehand and yet I couldn't read, much less enjoy the game's tabulation. I ended up just buying a Guitar for Dummies at Barnes & Noble and actually learned a lot more from that.

Maybe Rocksmith is COMPLETELY different and better, I hope that it is. Also, ya gotta be super motivated to practice practice practice to learn any craft whether there's a game involved or not.

Windows Vista 32 bit
(This thing is crap, both hardware and the OS)

I was only ever exposed to Windows systems growing up, so its naturally my OS of choice because of familiarity, and to be honest, other than Vista, Windows has been good to me. We use different Linux systems at work..but I don't consider them "mine."

A lot of optimization updates it seems. Nice to see. Its never sit right with my brain for a game with such low poly counts and simplicity in general to run so bad on modern comps. Also I was surprised to this in the notes:

"Empty sections of the world are not loaded into memory"

What the hell notch...how is an empty section loaded at all to memory? Bunch of "empty space blocks"? I don't even..

lol Awesome pic. Anyways, can I join in on the fun?

No one is paying a subscription fee for this game. We all payed $10 or less for this game. We got tons of hours of fun out of it. Transaction complete. Is that not how this works?

The developers want and SHOULD move on to other things now that their job is done. Thats how we get new games...by developers you know...moving on to MAKE these new games. Is that not how this works?

No one is entitled to shit, and I have no clue why anyone would be upset about anything the developers have done. The game rocked and you can still play the game for as long as you want.

Very very cool. Are you guys going for a ToadsTool type application? Seems like it from what you described in your post. Do you have any screens of the editor itself? I didn't see any in the videos you linked.

I really hope you guys keep on this, BK is one of my all time faves and would actually be motivated to make a hack for it, unlike Mario64.

Goofus presses every floor button in the elevator right before he lets in handicapped or stroller people.

Gallant gives other drivers plenty of space when merging into his lane when on the highway.

Why won't they just flippin let me buy Dungeon Siege 2 by itself. I really like this game and I really don't like having to pirate it. Ever since I saw it packaged with DS 3, I have craved it. But I refuse to support the joke of a dungeon crawler that is DS 3 in any way shape or form, even if it means missing out on DS 2.

(Yes I know I can get it an actual copy of DS 2 on amazon or something..but NO! I want it on Steam! With achievements added if possible. And a cool in game pet.)

Yeah, something's not right. After I make some edits to the map, save, then move on to the enemy editor or any other tab, some of the edits I made to the map get destroyed. Destroyed, not just reverted I may add. As in I get garbage tiles all over the screen. I'll try to get some screens of it.

Make some edits to a screen.. (Rightmost + Bottom Screen in this instance, but it happens on other screens as well)


Save and change tabs..


I've tried different Bionic Commando roms, same deal. I haven't tried Top secret version however.

I don't really understand the question. DLC stands for Downloadable Content, which is simply a type of content. DLC is simply additional game content. It's like asking "Are games a scam"? There is good content and there is bad content. There is content with high prices, and content with low prices. If you want to enhance/extend a game that you enjoy and feel the asking price is justifiable on a piece of DLC, you buy it. If you don't, you don't buy it.

I do understand that the act of releasing DLC that was clearly part of the "Core" game on release day is douche move by the publisher/developer. But that's just an individual instance of bad DLC.

If you buy a horrible game that sucks in every way, you don't then ask blanket questions, "Are games a scam?"

What editor are you referring to specifically? I know Super Mario Galaxy has had some tools created for it, but I believe they are very rough and still not ready for "mass consumption" like Lunar Magic or Toad'sTool are.

If you really want help, be more specific in terms of what you are trying to accomplish. Saying "I don't know how to use it," is not a good reason to make a forum post. Try to do something specific, like "change this goomba into a turtle." Then, if you have problems doing that, someone familiar with the tool you are using might be able to actually give you useful advice on how to accomplish that. Add a screen shot or two to your post if you think it will help get your point across.

Your post is extremely vague and to be honest, even if there are total SMG experts reading your post, they will be hesitant to reply to such an uninviting post.
