Xkeeper: Thank you, tiny grey-haired Tales of Symphonia character whose name I don't recall due to not having played the game in like 15 years

Rambly: This is literally the best welcome post I've ever received in my life and it is immediately an all-time favorite overall post for me and I appreciate it being made even though I'm sure the reference is lost on nearly everyone else here (also it's true we are currently sitting in the same room and I am indeed a demon girl irl)

Bloodstar: Okay now I'm feeling as though I'm right back at PureZC, except this time it's good and not bad and also nostalgic

You know the kind of January, February weather in which you can see the coolness in the air through the splotchy, cool grey sky? The kind of day where, if you look closely, you can make out and follow individual snowflakes falling? The sort of weather in which you can walk out in a scarf and coat and feel the crisp, cool air hit your face, and it's so cold you can smell it?

Well take all that away because I hate it. 75+ degrees or bust.

ok but what if i told you even tho that weather's not ideal for me and i wouldn't want it 100% of the time i actually kind of enjoy it from time to time

is that a truth you can accept

no; such an absurd preference, even just occasionally, is well beyond my capacity to comprehend

When I lived with my parents in Michigan, we had a black lab named Miley. This dog is perhaps the sweetest animal I've ever met. There is one particular moment I want to mention. I was having a very bad day, and I walked into my room, lied down on my bed, and cried. Though Miley was on the other side of the house, after a few moments she came running into my room, jumped up on my bed, and snuggled up next to me. She heard me crying, and came to comfort me. Even the worst day gets a little better after that.

She still lives with my parents back in Michigan, and I miss her dearly. Here's a shot of her from the last time I visited, in 2016

well you know that was supposed to be a silly joke but I guess now expectations have been set and we have to go through with this battle, huh

Okay seriously now: I use my Backloggery largely for logging my collection. I am twenty plus years deep into game collecting, and it's a real convenient way to keep track of it. I do use it to note games I've beaten and completed, but that's basically incidental to its real purpose.

To this collection logging end, I have also a system to note condition and completeness with each game. CIB traditionally means Complete In Box in collecting circles, but for this system it's Cartridge/CD, Instructions, Box. Upper case letters mean that that the item in question is complete and in good condition, lowercase suggest something is missing or condition is poor. Dashes mean it is missing entirely. For example, Battletoads on NES is (Ci-), meaning that cartridge condition is good, the instructions are present but in poor condition and I'm missing some of the other paperwork it released with, and I don't have the box. Modern games are typically (C B), because I tend to buy them new and they rarely come with instructions. I also note if it's a collector's edition, player's choice, etc. I started this system a few years ago, and not every game has been updated to reflect it yet.

Posted on 02-19-18 03:50:17 AM, in well, well, well... if it isn't some kind of FASHION THREAD Link
get it, the thread icon is a coin because clothes are expensive

Hi. I have not, traditionally, been a very fashion-focused individual. This was not a symptom of disinterest so much as lacking a space in which to explore it. But then I moved away from my parents and got on estradiol and now I spend more money on clothing and makeup than I do videogames and I don't know who I am anymore.

But at least whoever I am is someone stylish.

There's probably some others here interested in this subject, I imagine? I haven't been around this community very long and my initial impression is that I think this is primarily a forum for talking about weather and what we're currently eating, which is cool, I like that, it's good, but maybe there's some room for this as well. Anyone get any cute outfits recently? Exploring or interested in exploring any new fashion avenues lately? Have any specific places you like to buy your clothing at?

My sense of style is probably pretty obvious; Rambly here has called me 'goth queen' on the days on which I'm most dressed up. Black eyeliner, black clothing, black lipstick -- it's only within the last year or two that I've really been able to explore this style that I've loved since I was, what, 12? Incidentally, two downsides to the whole goth thing they don't tell you about: 1- our white haired cat ruins all of my outfits just by her looking at them, and 2- it is borderline impossible to discern any of my articles of clothing apart when picking them from the piles. But it's all worth it!

Recently, I've been slowly adding red as an accent color, and it's working out very well. I'll kick the thread off with my recent outfit:

Got these arm warmers from Amazon. Real cheap, mostly black with just a bit of red standing out. This is like my fourth pair of arm warmers or something. I, uh... I more or less just don't not wear arm warmers anymore.

Choker! Looks cute, fits my neck perfectly, was real cheap on Amazon. Speaking of which, this is the first result if you search 'vampire choker' on there, which was the next best thing after 'demon choker' failed to result in anything interesting.

This is my favorite shirt, at the moment. It was like $5 at my local thrift store and I felt like the luckiest trans girl in the world when I found it. All black, frilled shoulders, lace flower design around the neck. Wonderful.

My most recent acquisition, and quite possibly my favorite on this list. This one was from eBay; the seller was named vampofvintage and the brand on the skirt itself is called Queen of Darkness, so you know this one is a winner. I love the asymmetrical belt pieces which serve no practical function whatsoever and are purely decorative. Easily the most pricey item here, but still fairly cheap; $20 or so.

And, of course, here I am, in the fully assembled outfit.

sorry for the crummy bathroom mirror selfie, I'm not gonna name names BUT SOMEONE WHO IS MY GIRLFRIEND DIDN'T FEEL LIKE TAKING PICTURES OF ME FOR THIS THREAD

I'm incredibly happy with this outfit! So glad it all came together like this. I don't know how to end this opening post now so please reply and talk about clothes thank you bye

We actually got Amber to join! Her and I have been together a million years and I love her very much. Remember to slap her next time she says she'll never pass or something like that. Also she's a gigantic nerd, you have no idea.

Yeah -- #Ponyville on Bladerock. We're still around there!

(in retrospect this looks like an intentional secret set-up by Lunaria and me to advertise #Ponyville)

Yeah, I could never get into jeans. I think I had some bad experiences will ill-fitting jeans as a child and never really got past that. I'm open to giving them another try sometime, but I'd have to come across a pair which really speak to me (and in my size) and this has thus far failed to materialize into a real life situation for me.

Ideally, my legs are covered with leggings under skirts.

Thank you! Arm warmers have become one of my favorite accessories. Going back to what someone else said about clothing practicality, I've really swung the other direction in recent years. I've grown a very serious love for accessories that serve no real purpose and are purely for fashion.

Remember how first person shooters universally became spectacle slogs for like a solid decade plus

That sure was annoying! Just a little bit. Just ever so slightly irksome. Just a wee bit vexing. Was a teensy bit irritated by it

All those are very cute. You look good in them! I mean, I couldn't personally wear any of it because they have colors other than black, but, you know.

No picture of me wearing it, but this tank top arrived a few days ago. It was a bit of a risk -- traditionally, I don't wear tops with designs on them or tank tops -- but it's paid off, because it's immediately become a favorite. I look better in it than expected, and so it's expanded my clothing interest to include such items.

Not clothing, but I'd like to augment my style with a few piercings later this year. Nose, lips -- ears, at the very least. Maybe a tattoo as well; not that I have any ideas for tattoo designs. We live across the street from a tattoo and piercings place, and it's becoming increasingly tempting to walk in and get something done.
