I'm partial to getting manga/anime down...
I don't draw near as much as I used to, but no one takes me very seriously when I say why, so I'll leave it at that. I also take issue with guidelines, because they're only useful when I don't screw them up (generally never happens...) Shading and perspective would be my primary issues trying to do something particularly realistic.

lol...gotta love when that happens!
I still keep my old works, but none of them are on the computer yet.
I keep telling myself I'll submit them to DA... hasn't happened yet.
Cute!

I have two nieces. Am absolutely terrified of raising any kids of my own. I'm concerned I might not turn-out to be a great father. Not really sure that I'm a good uncle... Besides that, I'm afraid what kind of world they'll be born into. In any case, so far never gotten anywhere major with a girl, so... probably won't be happening any time soon. Well, congrats!

I only know about a Fan Animation that is in some sort of development hell, but i have not heard or read anything new about Fan remakes of the original concept.
Cheer

It's been stated by a few they either wanted to try, or were working on it.

1. 2Tie was making one in Unity before this whole thing started up.
2. It's been mentioned on at least a few other sites people wanted to, or 'supposedly' were going to
3. MrQuetch wants to do a homebrew N64 ROM of it
4. I have potential far-future plans to try it, I want to build an actual game engine (and perhaps become USEFUL with 3D), first.

Yeah, the fan animation...
Is it STILL struggling, then?

Almost feels like re-making entire game would be easier if one ripped all the assets and such.

My guess is code-wise, best you could get is disassembling one or both ROMS. You'd then have to painstakingly analyze it all to determine what it's doing. The source code is totally destroyed, though.
Even if it were originally written IN Assembly, all the function and variable names, and all the organization, would be lost when it was assembled. Or, that's what usually happens. There's a lot of unknowns like specifics of how the devs built their filesystems/engines.

That's just my two cents.

Anyway, 0.3 is released! here

My desktop, as well as the desktop I keep getting stuck with, both have 32-bit CPUs... this I know for fact.

I'm not sure on my laptop.
It might also be 32-bit, but I never checked the CPU specs.
I do know it keeps installing software to the 32-bit program files folder.
But, it also bluescreens all too frequently, thus I gave-up on using it, and at some point will have to do data recovery on it.

(Oh, and either it's simply blacklisted and never got un-blacklisted, or it really doesn't support it: My parent's "brand new" computer doesn't support webGL 2! I'm somehow doubtful it's a legit lack of support, however... the new games which I installed a few of during set-up look like they'd need a decent GPU... unrelated, kinda... but this is why support issues like this bother me. Even say I upgrade, there's MANY unknowns of what the new computer ACTUALLY will be able to do, or allow me to)

Anyways, my safest bet is 32-bit and even with older graphics drivers/APIs, for now.
If I could run 64-bit, I would...

@BoringPerson
more or less, same... I wanted to find a certain routine (or set thereof) in x86 ASM that loads a proprietary resource file format. I've since stalled said project cuz IDK what I'm doing. I don't have the time or really even the skills, for the foreseeable future.

Your analogy is spot-on. This even can happen in the high-level languages, especially when obfuscation is involved. Oh, let's add-on that besides the code... there's the entire data section of the ROM likely hard-coded within a certain offset! So ASM hacking can even touch on the requirement of understanding the filesystem structure!

I've always had the great appreciation for them, I am truly impressed by what they can do. I'd probably over-estimate the amount of time such a hack would take...lol

bold section i'll generally ignore, but lol... the "MMO rare drop" thing, I can relate to...THAT experience

@CruisinEma
I won't argue with your logic. Believe me when I say re-doing stuff or buying it again is not exactly my favorite thing to do.

Probably why no one helped me, either

Is the game's filesystem structure even known?

Yeah, finding old news sometimes is difficult. What you're saying would sound accurate, especially back then, censorship was a huge deal. With Nintendo, pretty sure it is to this day. I recall a rare dev talking about this in regards to Conker, and he was shocked how much made it through! My same impression, I'm not offended by it at all, but I'm shocked it got past the censors, it's got some heavy stuff!

@BoringPerson
By my judgement, these probably do or did exist in the ROM at some point. They smell a lot like identifiers, and most of them to functions. If there's any way to link them back to the compiled code is another story.

Not wanting to go into such extensive details with a reply, I'll leave it mostly at "Makes sense"

I've certainly used the zooming thing when doing pixel art, and digital art, in general.

As for references: I have...many. At the very least, they become inspiration further down the road.

Good to hear you have lots of reference stuff too. If you're after more, at least for people, these guys have some pretty useful books (NSFW) for references, and this is a lovely figure drawing practice tool as well (partially NSFW). OH, and I haven't had a chance to use this yet but Anatomy 360 (can be NSFW) looks very promising, with its 3D scans.

take a look at some of my other posts, it's deeply ingrained within my head to explain the hell out of anything /: (besides to be triggered amazingly easy...)

"lots" would be an understatement
lol...
I am really not remotely bothered by NSFW stuff...lol
I AM bothered by most of the 'art nudes' and similar that get Daily Deviation status on Deviantart, however. I don't feel most of them really deserve it, save a few that actually have artistic qualities.

Some NSFW resources actually would be useful. I see no point in hiding at some point in the future I'd like to make such content, myself. (Assuming ofc, society's stigma and desire to over-regulate everything doesn't stop me.)

There is NOTHING wrong with drawing nudes. Art schools expect you to draw nudes. If you look in any artist's portfolio there are nude figure drawings. Those people who think it's taboo are silly. There is no better way to learn to draw the figure than to draw a whole crapload of nudes, preferably from a live model, but if that's not possible, then from photographic reference. I'd even say it's essential to draw a bunch of nudes.

Sexualised nudes are another issue, but ehhhh, to be honest… if drawing smut or outright porn helps you improve your art, then idgaf.

As for deviantART… yes, well, there's a reason I don't tend to post on there much, if at all, any more. It is a silly place.

eh, i could produce refs... once i'm good enough for that. bu not of myself... lol

Indeed there is not. I won't argue, there, it is a great way to understand anatomy.

Overall, sexualized art doesn't bug me, anyways. But when a photo, typically with no discernible effort in staging or concept manages to land such honor as DD, that annoys the hell out of me. I follow some artists that produce a lot of NSFW, but they put effort into it, and the end of the day, it's not simply "another piece of porn". I'd much rather see their work in DDs than some art nude that's also advertising materials DA actually forbids, and generally only going for the money or fame.

In general, I've come to wonder if maybe these things being taboo overall is causing far more harm than it is good. Not simply because it hinders artists, either. (although generally speaking, hindering artists, alone, is reason enough to consider something as destructive)

Yeah... but there's a few reasons I can't really leave. Part of it being friends whom I currently ONLY can contact this way. sucks... >.>

I've been stuck in the "bigger problems" hole for... probably 3-4 years, now... Not to be rude, but I seriously don't need reminded of when I'm in a dire situation. tbh, most of my life kinda is. (rather not go into that, it's off-topic, anyways)

The laptop was a gift... evidently all the resets done to it accomplished nothing... I hate being under-appreciative, but... DEAR GOD, I'm tired of this crap! This would be the second computer I've received as a gift that turned-out to have underlying fatal problems within days/weeks of being received (or in the case of the laptop, actually being used). In both cases, I've potentially lost plenty of files... And what makes me more mad is I feel like my family and friends are getting totally ripped-off by purchasing these things that the seller was almost certainly aware of being damaged.

Anyways, I'll still be stuck on 32-bit and GL 1.0 for a while... Painfully watching as it becomes harder to do anything. And then whenever I'm finally forced to upgrade, I'll go through all the stages of grief that it's mandatory now to hack all my system and programs, and that most of what I was using before is either unavailable, or simply won't work.

Anyways, Enough of that...

Forgive me if this is the wrong place, but quite by accident I happened upon the pages for games that were developed by 4t2 Multimedia

I can't necessarily do it any time SOON, but I'd be interested in both trying to finish these (to the best of my ability) , and create a much more complete list of games.

I wouldn't normally offer to do something like this, except that besides have an interest in 4t2's games, anyways, I actually am in fairly frequent contact with one of the developers. (ofc, I obviously would be bound by NDA on certain things if I asked for them, personally)

My priority would be LEGO games. I may then move onto others.

So, any objects/questions/etc... ?

And again, terribly sorry if this is in the wrong thread...

For now, I do not have any screenshots or links, but I am messing with the idea of porting yet another game. I do have some progress, but for various reasons, I prefer not to share it until I have something more concrete. I will say the code is pretty awful, it's a fine example of prototype code where the only goal was to make something work.

So, something I've been wanting to do for a while is extract the sprites from the 3D Pinball game provided with earlier versions of Microsoft Windows.

So far, all I've determined is that the graphics are stored as 8bpp indexed images in pinball.dat and font.dat
pinball.dat seems to have some identifiers for the individual sections, but I cannot find the palettes, or any information that determines the size of a section, or the width/height of a given image.

I also plan to extract from the demo/prototype versions. From my observation, the file format is pretty much, exactly the same. (minus some filenames are different)

Anyone able to help?

A couple years ago, it was so damn hot I slept in nothing but a bath towel...

I've found more recently that having even the lightest if clothes on, I feel too hot. Most likely because SOME individuals in the household like setting the thermostat to where it's uncomfortable to everyone but them... >.>

Ironically, as much as I HATE getting too hot, I love:
hot showers (also, that one night, i took a cold shower...)
hot car (well... sometimes)
hot tub (and i hate pools cuz... COLD COLD COLD)

i also am not fond of hot food, i prefer it lukewarm because hot burns me

My family took our vacation just this last week, and it was too hot most of the time, even with the fan running at full speed, and the window open to catch the breeze ... >.>

It was quite nice outside, though

Oh, and last year... we visited my grandmother in CA. Christ, the humidity makes the heat (or cold) awful... We stopped to eat for lunch, and it was just terrible getting back in the car... To think I used to live in that state!

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
