Hi all, I joined just to post this finding.

I believe Dinosaur Planet ran on N64DD hardware. If you watch the beginning of the one hour DP video, you'll see the N64DD logo. I'm not sure if this is helpful to your cause or not, but I thought I'd put it out there!

I don't see anywhere on the wiki that says DP ran on a 64DD; should that information be added?

@treevis: I've been watching this project since it started, and I don't believe I've ever known it was a 64DD game. I could be wrong, though!

but I think it would be helpful to know, since knowing what system its on would be one of the first steps to restore it... Not much is known about the 64DD, but we could try looking into the few games that did come out for the system. Maybe the code we're missing is specific to the 64DD

@gonetogo: Thanks for the screenshot, that is so odd! That is indeed the beta logo/design, but I have no idea why it would be on his head. Most likely a placeholder

@cuber456: I agree, there's tons of findings on these pages that should be added

On a side note, has anybody found the voice clip of the cloudrunner at the beginning of the 1 hour video? The one that says "Krystal, shoot for the cannon" and "Blast the head!". I don't think I ever heard it in the voice clips found so far.

This was apparently found back in 2012 but I sure haven't seen it so thought I'd share. This guy found an E3 2000 "survival" kit and it includes items related to games that were shown there. The most interesting one being, of course, the dinosaur puzzle included because of Dinosaur Planet. The owner doesn't plan on opening it but holy shit am I curious about that puzzle. It could just be a generic puzzle or it could have some never-before-seen DP artwork on it.

The puzzle is the red box in the front. Does anyone perhaps recognize it, or have they seen it opened? Or maybe somebody knows how to contact this guy and ask him to take closer pictures?

That guy is DEFINITELY not in SFA, i am 100% sure. Very out of place looking, too! I can't see where a mechanical scorpion would fit in very well.

He looks quite similar, both graphically and anatomically, to a black scorpion model found a while back on a former dev's website. Although clearly, these are not the same models.

and @ kett: Good job getting a hold of him!! absolute shame to hear that though, hopefully whoever owns it now has a picture of it floating out there somewhere. I've been doing my own research on it, nothing very interesting but I have reason to believe that there is a chance it was a Dinosaur Planet puzzle. Because of the box shape (the flap on top and its overall size) is extremely similar, if not the same, as a line of Pokemon puzzles Hasbro made back when Pokemon was big, around 2000 and the same time this E3 kit was given out. Stands to reason that Nintendo, already having ties with Hasbro, would have them make a DP puzzle.

So does anyone know where IOnEI Falcon found the one hour of DP footage? I've been comparing scenes from it, the official trailer, and other videos, and there are clear differences that make me think the one hour dp video is the oldest build of DP we've seen.

on the right are screenshots from the 1 hour video, left are from trailer.

With number one, you see huge differences. The sky is black, the ship is completely different, the Sharpclaw on the right is holding a weapon, and there's a tractor beam coming from the ship. On the image in the right, the ship is from Jet Force Gemini, meaning it was most definitely a place holder.

Second image, there aren't many clear differences. The models for the sharpclaw look quite different between the two.

Third image, you can clearly tell that one is at sunset and the other is not.

Fourth image, the Galdon's model appears to be the same but this footage is not the same as whats used for the trailer. In the 1 hour footage, there are orbs on the ground.

With five, you can tell these are the same scene because of the lighting, but the fireballs are in completely different parts. This is the same frame mind you, so by the time the fire balls reach her face in the second image, shes ducked down.

Sixth image, the triceratops has different eyes. Also her eye texture glitches a lot in the 1 hour footage, something not seen in the trailer.

In the seventh image, I managed to catch these two images in the same exact frame. The textures for Discovery Falls are completely different between the two! Also the one hour footage has strange wires?? and an unfinished bridge.

So basically what I'm getting at here is that some people thought that a lot of what we saw in the one hour video was used for the trailer, but I don't think that's true. I think the 1 hour video is from a much earlier build. Please excuse me if this is not news, but I was unaware of this until now and I thought others might find this interesting as well.

have we found any files from the menu yet? I'm really curious because in this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gxUq2w_fiA#t=7714

you can hear music on the menu that i've never heard before.

also something i noticed while perusing the old archived DP website is that, on this page, they use the same title image style as the menu in the game!

Notice also how it says "Fox Status" on the upper left; implying Krystal was still a playable character in this build perhaps? I also wonder which build this is, as I've never seen this exact HUD before. Very interesting!

from what i know, some people have contacted Rare, but nothing came of it. Apparently there was a demo cart but when rare employees last tried it, around '09, it didn't work, and that it was thrown out. Apparently, all the game's assets are on a computer at a Nintendo HQ somewhere. I've also heard, sometime in 2010, that a private collector somehow has DP (i have no idea in what form) and is waiting until its "safe" to share it, but there's nothing to back this up.

Maybe try contacting someone in cahoots with nintendo? nintendo is much more likely to leak games than Rare is so thats a good thing. I don't think Rare even even owns the rights to DP any more so your best bet would, again, be Nintendo.

Hi! my apologies if this is already known or if I'm incorrect, but I noticed the article for Sly Cooper was really lacking and I was curious if anyone knows what's been found so far, if anything.

I have no knowledge of how to dig through files (at the moment anyway) but I find these sort of things extremely interesting and noticed there isn't a whole lot known of the beta of Sly Cooper, apart from some early concept images floating around.

Anyhoo, I came across a rom of the 2001 demo; has anyone tried digging through that? I imagine there would be much more left over assets in the demo version, much like there was in the Starfox Adventures demo.

http://theisozone.com/downloads/playstation/ps2-isos/sly-cooper-and-the-thievius-raccoonus---e3-demo/

here are some more demos for more Sly games I was able to find:

Sly 3 Jampack demo: http://theisozone.com/downloads/playstation/ps2-isos/sly-3-honor-among-thieves---jampack-demo/

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus E3 demo: http://theisozone.com/downloads/playstation/ps2-isos/sly-cooper-and-the-thievius-raccoonus---e3-demo/

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus Jampack demo: http://theisozone.com/downloads/playstation/ps2-isos/sly-cooper-and-the-thievius-raccoonus---jampack-demo/

Sly Raccoon demo (PAL): http://theisozone.com/downloads/playstation/ps2-isos/sly-raccoon---demo/

Again, my apologies if this thread is in the redundant or is incorrect in anyway; if so, please let me know and I will delete it. Hopefully this is helpful to someone, though!

I've seen those videos actually! You can view them in-game in the second and third game after you beat them a certain percent, so they're aren't necessarily hard to find. I was more curious if any game rippers have been able to find anything else within the three game's data!

And yes, if you need any help, I have been playing the first and second Sly Cooper since childhood; if you were to show me something, I could easily tell you where it is and what purpose it serves, and whether it was in the final or not. I know these games very well, especially the first. I have not played the third yet, however.

He wasn't called JT for too long apparently; I've only seen once instance of him being called that. I wonder what it stands for. And actually I know what dialog you're talking about, there's a video where the developers commentated older builds of the game and that was one of them. The voice for "my new climb move" is pretty funny.

And nice find! he's actually the beta for the squid flashlight guard; thats pretty funny that they put both models in the demo, seeing as the other one is nearly identical to the final albeit a different color. What's the name of that level? I can't read it very well but it looks like it says "WW_t3_final"? That level's name in the final is "Gunboat Graveyard" so I can't really find any correlation between the two... did you find anything else interesting over there? or care to share how you got there?

One semi-interesting thing I've managed to find in the demo is a way to get out of bounds in the first level, above the waterfall. There's nothing up there, but this glitch can only be done in the demo; I tried it out on my official disk and it wasn't possible at all.

and thanks for the link! I'll definitely try it out.

this guy http://dinosaur-planet-to-sfa.tumblr.com/ has found some stuff, namely the images for the food bag and various foods (fish, meat, eggs, and apples) in different stages of decay lol. The food bag, nor any of the food besides mushrooms, is mentioned in the game, yet i recall an audio clip from DP talking about the food bag.

Interestingly, if you look at the apple and spore icon, you can see Krystal's hand, presumably. But the hands look like SFA's Krystal's hands, as Krystal from DP wore yellow gloves I don't think these are from Dinosaur Planet, rather I think these are from that awkward in-between stage.

A bit off topic but something about Krystal's hands though... anybody notice her hands are completely inconsistent between images of her? In this Dinosaur Planet wallpaper, her hands are blue and she has bracelets on. http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100131064948/starfox/images/1/1f/Dinosaur_planet_wallpaper.jpg
She has gold gloves in this this official render, http://www.rareminion.com/dp/images/bios/krystal/krystal1.jpg
and in this render she has creepy human hands http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/054/b/3/krystal_dinosaur_planet_full_render_by_terrarita-d4qpnk3.jpg
and in this screenshot, nothing at all! https://shockingvideogamesecrets.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/07_640w.jpg
