I'm not sure they quite qualify as a tabloid, although they do seem to take the more sensationalist way of describing things. If anyone's interested in esoteric things like this, I find the Fortean Times (British magazine) tends to be a fairly good source.

I personally don't really doubt that there could be a sheep that looks like that. It's just... not terribly noteworthy outside of a "LOOK AT WHAT WACKY THINGS NATURE HAS SHOWN US THIS WEEK" context.

(...Could be fake, too, I suppose.)

I don't know, the supreme court seems to have a recent history of having major decisions come down basically to whichever party appointed more of the current justices. Right now, it's 5 republicans to 4 democrats, so... such optimism may be a bit premature, regardless of how solid the arguments may be.

Well, buy for the price of rent! Or convince a friend to buy it so I can play on his system (hey, it worked for Mega Man 9).

Shadic: I thoroughly enjoyed both Adventure games (got all the emblems in the GCN versions of each), but it's a bit easier to not be opposed on things that are more obscure.

Man. Can you believe that? Took them 16 years to realize the games which sold them the most were, guess what, popular.
Ignoring everything after (and including) Heroes, they had major problems outside of game design.

Don't forget, Sonic Adventure and Adventure 2 were on the Dreamcast. It was a good system, yes, but calling it an "underdog" is being overwhelmingly generous to its success. If there hadn't been systems named "32x" or "Saturn", things may have been different, but as it was, Sega had already lost their position as a major contender.

From what I understand, you still need all of the components for each one (as in, Sonic 3 + S&K to play S3K, Sonic 2 + S&K for KtEiS2). You select it from a menu when you start Sonic & Knuckles.

I don't remember if I heard that Get Blue Spheres was there or not.

They may not give you the exact numbers, but since D/P, they've been adding more and more ways to control and/or understand both EVs and IVs. Power items (apparently HG/SS expand them to allowing you to pass the specific IV in that stat down to the egg), the effort ribbon, characteristics, that guy in the Battle Tower who specifically tells you how good the best IV on your Pokemon is, Hidden Power (for that matter, the guy in Platinum's Game Corner who will tell you what type it'd be), berries to reduce a given EV, etc. Arguing that they want you specifically not to use any of this information is somewhat... unfounded.

If they just added level balancing to local wireless, there would be almost no benefit (hello Mewtwo!) to reaching level 100. Much of the in-game extra content (Battle Frontier and what not) levels you back down to level 50, anyway...

I always view "leveling beyond what is required to beat the game" to be something you can do if you want, but not something the game needs to encourage. At least now you can buy rare candy, or find it with Pickup (say, when you're chaining for shinies).

Rare candies raise stats but not EVs, same as the day care people. Level 100 rare candy Pidgey will be weaker than trained Pidgey, but it will be stronger than the same Pidgey if it was encountered in the wild at level 99. This also means that if you max out the Pokemon's EVs (you can get the effort ribbon in Canalave at this point), you can Rare Candy it up to your heart's content. Or put the Pokemon in the daycare center, find a muddy slope, tape the "up" arrow down, and leave the game running however long it takes.

Also, Battle Tower (D/P) or Frontier (Pt). 48 Battle Points per candy. Alternately 2000 points in the Pokeathlon Dome.

(Incidentally, if you track a Pokemon's stat gains over several levels while raising it with only Rare Candy and vitamins, you can use this data to calculate its IVs.)

...I'm amused by math. This makes Pokemon very good for me.


EDIT: Since that last post showed up while I was typing this, as long as HG/SS is like Gold and Silver, you can buy large quantities of Lemonade at once at Mt Moon Square, as long as you visit between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Evidently, Blue Sphere is available if you have Sonic 1, but that's probably far from a major selling point.

I'm sure that either ages or seasons had a dungeon where you could put the key into the wrong hole and get perma-stuck, the chances of this happening were very slim though.
Link's Awakening had a door like that, if I remember right. In the earlier releases, use Roc's Feather to jump over a barely-narrow-enough-to-jump-over river, use your key on the wrong side, and you're set!

You can't always just go back to being skinny. I've people eat well and walk a few miles every day (and do the whole "home gym" thing 3 times a week) and still not be able to get below about 300 pounds. There's a reason weight loss surgery is recommended in certain cases, after all.

Not sure if that's what Xkeeper was referring to or not.
