Before reinstalling my OS, this would've been a god-send, but now that firefox randomly works well for me, it's just neat. I really like the idea, since there are still occasional crashes with respect to Flash.

Maybe it was the switch from 32 to 64 bit that improved it.

There's plenty of emulators in the works nowadays. PCSX2, bsnes, regen, dolphin, some others. Even zsnes is having some work being slowly done on it. N64 emulation has pretty much stalled, though, as far as I know.

EDIT: as for the processor usage thing goes, emulation is hardly 1:1, since CPUs in consoles rarely have many similarities to each other, including PCs, so you can't just translate 1 command on one to 1 command on another. Not to mention all the other hardware like the sound and video chips. Then syncing it all together so things behave like they did on the original is a bunch more code.

It's been pretty warm around here (60s-70s? Usually dropping to around 40 at night.), which I like. During summer around here, it can easily get up in to the high 90s and beyond. Warm weather sucks for being uncomfortable, but I can stand it, unless I'm trying to sleep. Cold weather hurts unless you cover every square inch of skin because there's usually strong as hell winds when it's cold. Also, by cold it regularly can get down to, like, -10, but usually hovers between 5 and 10. Why can't there be wind when it's hot?

Generally space or enter, but I'll sometimes just palm my keyboard. I'll occasionally do this even when looking to press a specific key if I'm feeling extra lazy; like fullscreening mplayer with F or something. It doesn't matter what other commands I issue, really. :p

Non-dominant left. Someone told me that was the one I should wear it on, which made sense (Watch getting in the way while writing.) so that's what I started with and what I'm now used to. Also, putting it on the wrong wrist just seems annoying. My left hand is really poorly coordinated.

My high school sucked so the math classes were too easy and I didn't learn anything. They mostly just taught the basics of the curriculum patched together with "shortcuts" to doing everything that only apply to certain situations, with absolutely not information on why something works or how to truly solve the problem. Left me completely unprepared for college.

I have the 80GB intel X25-M, which I really like. I can say that SSDs are a definitee improvement over hard disk drives. I just wish they were cheaper in larger capacities. I had a hard disk fail today. 1.5TB Seagate that was only a few months old. Woke up with it clicking and a few minutes later I couldn't read from it at all. Interestingly, my SSD stopped being readable at the same time, because I guess the SATA controller driver just blew up in some weird way. Unplugging the hard drive and rebooting fixed the issue. Kinda interesting seeing "-bash: /bin/ls: no such file or directory".

I like intel hardware, but I can't stand when companies do stuff like this. Sadly, they'll probably continue to do as they've been doing, since that amount of money is very minuscule.

I used this a lot up until as recently as a year ago as a secondary computer. It's a horrible piece of crap. It used to be an IBM Aptiva something but I had to replace a lot of parts on it.

16x CD burner, used to have a single 32x CDROM reader, then added a 4x CD burner, then got the 16x burner for free.

Had the SB Live! that was added later on.
Had a Conexant PCI 56K modem that I got mad at once I got DSL and ripped all the parts off of 1 by 1.
Running: I think debian linux, if it still had a hard drive, originally Windows 98.
Display: was a 17" IBM CRT, then a 19" Samsung LCD

The video looks cool, but I couldn't get it to run. Wine doesn't run .SCRs I guess. As for what screensaver I use, it just picks one at random until I remember to kill xscreensaver.

Yeah, I could read it surprisingly well, as well. Only problem I really had was with the "(Ha Ha)", which ended up looking like some kind of emoticon.

As for small fonts that are readable. I like zsnes's font. 5x5 is probably about as small as you want to reasonably get for a font.

I've found even through comparison of CDs and DVDs that CDs can really be beat to crap before they're unreadable, but DVDs are certainly more sensitive to scratches and whatnot. I've heard that blu-ray discs are even worse for this, but I have no first hand experience with blu-ray.

EDIT: They might require being in some kind of cartridge. So they look something like a chubby 5 1/4" floppy disk. :p
