So does their system only allow like 1 run per game or something, and that has to be the best one? It'd make sense that they could have like, the "best" one, then have other notable ones that are just amusing for some reason, like those family feud ones where people put in complete nonsense. I'm sure similarly amusing things apply to other games. Also it would make sense to have different methods too. Like, completely humanly possible runs, TAS runs without exploits and TAS runs with exploits, or TAS runs that only use certain exploits. Like, sure, people can beat super mario 64 with getting like no stars, but someone might want to see an all stars run or minimum stars required to beat it legitimately or something.
Honestly, I'm just curious because I'm not involved in the community and I'd rather not bother because it's not really a great area of interest other than watching them sometimes.
I feel this thread makes some good points, but it seems like it never really well defines it's intention as I understand it. It just seems like a lot of vitriol from both sides, and someone looking in, or even someone involved with less than good understanding of social situations (Something that strikes me as may be a common problem in a TAS community.) would completely misunderstand the intent, or just go on the defensive.
