Interesting. I'm not sure if these pictures would be in .jpeg files or something similar. I'll have to look through that with extraction tools, when I'm done with my busy schedule. Something similar was done with Elmo in Grouchland and I wouldn't be surprised if there were more hidden dev pictures in games.
There's a few GBA games that have hidden pictures: Road Rash Jailbreak, Spirits & Spells, and Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, to name a few.

Ha, so much Chao abuse. Even the devs hated them I guess.

I got Back to the Future: The Game via the current Indie Royale. Of course I couldn't resist peeking around the game files, and I've found quite a bunch of unused things in Episode 1 of the series, including leftover newspaper vending machine graphics from one of the Sam and Max seasons (I'm not sure which one, but there's six, which means the all come from one six-episode season in particular), an unused inventory graphic for a Tommy Gun (which you never find)... and TONS of unused audio files that reference bits of story and a couple of puzzles that were left out of the final game. (These puzzles involve Marmalade. Marmalade? Yes, marmalade. And peanuts. Long story.)
Plus there's a message from Marty to the devs saying something about giving the audio guys some slack and not overwork them, some alternate takes, and unused stuff. And a really, REALLY creepy bit involving the Statler-DeSoto dealership that likely got cut off because it was in very poor taste.
There's also an interesting bug with Episode 2. In Episode 1, you choose an alias from a list of names, and the later games remember your choice, so everyone refers to you by that name. EXCEPT for one place at the start of Episode 2 - you get called by the default name, not the name you chose. Apparently, earlier builds of the episodes didn't remember your name, but later builds fixed this. I only stumbled upon this particular one so they may have forgotten to fix it. Then again the game still has quite a few issues that were never fixed, even now.
Anyway the episode does have the voice and written lines that never play due to the bug. I have to double check this to be sure.
I haven't finished the series (I just started Ep. 4) so I haven't looked at the rest of the episodes yet but it appears that there isn't that much unused stuff in them.

I will, but I'd rather wait until I have enough material to make one.
It's not like I have enough on my plate already, what with Bad Boys, Ghostbusters, and a bunch of other games I want to write about...

Do level skip codes count as level select? As in, press a key combo to skip to the next stage.

Okie, thanks. I ask because of this. It doesn't have a tag to specify what kind of unused content it has and I wasn't sure if it counted as a level select.

It's artwork of the fox-type character person thing I've used as my avatar online for the past... lots of years. Someone I know made tons of icons in the same style as commissions and I got one because it was neat.

The update cut down on TF2's startup time for me from 30-60 seconds to FIVE seconds. It's crazy. The game runs a bit better too.
I was also able to get rid of 4 GB of duplicate files from my idling accounts.

Blazing through Back to the Future: The Game (Telltale). This game is -amazingly fun-. The writers really knew their stuff. I'm currently in the middle of Episode 4 so I should be done by next week.

Originally posted by omega59 Alright, but it's easier to edit instead of make entirely with all of the info.
But that's not a good idea for me. If I start editing something I'll either finish it all in one shot, or get distracted by other stuff.
Case in point!
You REALLY don't want to get me overly distracted!
Edit: I also just found out that the game was not released on the Xbox 360 - but the episodes have 360 button graphics. I'm not sure if the PC release supports the pad or not, so they may be used. There's PS3 buttons in there so they may have just used the same assets between versions, like Sanctum of Slime did.
Edit:
Well, the PS3 version uses a different texture format. I wonder if there's some sort of standard? The other PS3 games I've checked out also use different formats than their PC counterparts (except for Sanctum of Slime, but that game's all weird as it is.)
Also, the script files have COMMENTS! Lots of funny comments! The PS3 has system-specific asset files so it may have different files.

I finished Back to the Future tonight and I think I'm gonna have to go around the series of articles a different way.
All episodes have separate resource files, but several of the textures are in all the archives, even if they're not directly referenced or used (for example, the inside of a room that can only be accessed in one episode is in the files for five of them.) There'd be no point in mentioning them all several times.
I may just make one -main- article with subpages for every episode.

Well, you -do- return to some of those places. You visit 1931 and 1985 at a few different dates. You just can't go into most places again as the story progresses, and of course the days go by as you play (you start in the morning, then evening, and night.)
There's a file browser, TelltaleExplorer, but there's no outright editor. Which sucks... because there's debug files in there.

As of a few weeks ago, eBay takes a 10% cut of anything you sell. Plus the PayPal fees (30 cents plus a percentage of the money you're getting.) And then you have to deal with shipping...
After seeing your list of stuff... you're better off selling these locally somewhere like Craigslist. Shipping costs have gone through the roof lately.

I was about to suggest that. If you're using PCSX2, just make a savestate, open up the file (it's a zip archive), then open the eeMemory.bin file in something like TileMolester / GGD and hope for the best.

I don't suppose using MAME's disassembler to see how the game is loading these graphics is an option?

Not a complaint against the hats themselves, most are pretty neat looking except for that one that looks like an inverted comb. But putting them up for a vote... Valve's voting initiatives don't have a good track record (see: Steam Greenlight)
Valve should just let them all in.
