I found a tool called Game Graphic Studio that supports -some- PS2 formats. The program kinda sucks. :\

What I've done with Bad Boys is get savestates with PCSX2 and open them with Winrar (they're .gzipped), then open the RAM with GGD. It works surprisingly well.

Sup. Welcome.

I'm Foxhack. I'm a dork that enjoys bad games, bad movies, bad comics (to a point), and hacking games. Ironically, I'm a hacker who rarely participates in the social side of the forum because I don't feel like I belong. Partly due to culture shock, and partly due to my age and completely whacked out interests.

I'm also fairly certain I have more naturally white / gray hair than anyone else in the forum.

And I'm also certain I'm the only Mexican here.

Oh right, I'm also an admin at VGCollect, a game collection database.

Check MobyGames. One of the staffers there (Unicorn Lynx) lives in China and used to add a -lot- of release dates and Chinese game names, which you can then use to look for the actual release dates.

I've been screwing around with Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime (360 / PC / PS3) and it has a couple of unused tunes. One of them in particular caught my attention and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out if the developers took it from somewhere without permission.

http://tcrf.net/File:GB_Sanctum_Of_Slime_Main_theme_8bit.ogg

It sounds NES-like, but it's not from the NES or C64. The game doesn't mention this in the credits and there's no way to access this song... so if you've heard it before, please help me identify it. Thanks!

I was hoping that wouldn't be the case, but I still wanted to be sure since I don't really listen to lots of chiptunes.

I've been adding stuff from PS2 games too! It's just that the PC is my favorite platform.

I think it's slightly higher resolution because of the way the clouds look in the "beta" image. It looks... filtered, yes, but it looks like it has a higher resolution because of how it's filtered. I may be wrong about it, but that's just how I see this. ^^;

Can someone link me to a decent PNG optimizer with a GUI that preserves image transparencies? It seems Irfanview screwed up the transparencies on the true color PNGs I used it with since it insists that the transparency has to be one color.

Also, guys, guys. Furries. They encompass Homestuck fans, Bronies, Pokemon and Sonic fans, sometimes at the same time with hilarious (and depressing) results!

*hops off*

I didn't -say- Homestuck fans were furries, I meant that furries are often Homestuck / Bronies / Pokemon / Sonic fans in several combinations. Sorry if it sounded otherwise, english is hard you guys.

Actually, you know what?

I was a jerk, and didn't mean to insult anyone, their fandom, the people within said fandoms, or the contents of the fandoms.

I'm sorry for derailing your thread, AJ, and I hope you won't let the stupid things I said stop you from sticking around. I am -not- the average Jul user and you shouldn't base your opinion of the forum on the stuff I did.

My apologies.

Or something to do with the emulator I used, DeSmuME.

Why would it stick stuff in the game RAM? It makes no sense. Don't forget there's a NES game with Norton Utilities 7 stuff in it!

Probably industrial espionage, but 20 years? Some dudes from China got sent to jail for eighteen months for trying to steal a company's formula for a certain type of glass... and that, I think, would've been more damaging than someone leaking a gaming system's specs.

It's not like it was a government-related crime or anything... it was a private company. Not a government office.

He SHOULD go to jail since he broke the law and a ton of NDAs (which would probably lead to civil fines, not jail time, unless I'm mistaken here) but... 20 years is ridiculous. What kind of laws do Aussies have over there?

Can we have Benedict back? Please?

Yes, the new pope scares the FUCK out of me. More than Benedict ever did. It's not often you see everything that's wrong with your entire country personified in one man.
