| Nice finds!
Too bad I can't really mess with this stuff until I get my video card. But I can try! So, I'm curious about the Alpha forest (which I got a friend of mine who has Maya to try opening it; it didn't load). Does it load with the map select? I doubt it, but it's worth a try... |

| I need help with registering. When I try and confirm my email address, it doesn't come through. Not even to my spam folder.
I am Kargaroc on there. In Wind Waker, I opened the invisible island A_nami with a dzb viewer and it seems it's a copy of the VrTest island. Just for kicks, I decided to run an MD5 check on the DZB of VrTest, and the DZB of A_Nami and they are different. it seems that only the header is different. |

| I've been looking through the map select, and I'm having trouble when finding particular maps.
We need some sort of Debug Menu guide that lists each map and their destination (in both file name, and human readable description) |

| Not sure if I should be posting in this, but my computer can run Dolphin well enough, and I would love to tear this game to paces.
Anyone willing to distribute this? Or is that against the rules? Although, this being a out of print free demo, I doubt it would cause that much problems. |

| Considering Nintendo's habit of scrubbing their games clean of unused content (thanks Nintendo [sarcasm]), I say there's a 100% chance this gets cut.
Any beta stuff we already saw, like the Beta Forest from E3 2010, also WILL get completely removed, because they don't want us to see it, ever. |

| Some things I noticed with Wind Waker
First, something I mentioned before, but the post got botched. Room 19 in Siren (Tower of the Gods) you know, http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16672629/room19.png Well, I just have to say one thing http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16672629/totg_boss.jpg Room 19 is NOT the boss room like everyone thinks. I assume that Room 19 was a room that Link went to after the boss room or something, where the warp to the bell would be. Now for the less old news: I was comparing the minimaps with their actual counterparts One thing I found was the unused minimap for the forest seems to be of a older version of the forest, without the entrance to the fairy fountain. I made a comparison picture, with the minimap overlapped with the actual map http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16672629/forestcompare.png |

| Now, I'm not very confident at all in my abilities in getting my hands on software like this, though I'm sure that access to the various Nintendo Wii and GCN devkits would revolutionize the Nintendo game modding scene.
Things I'd probably be interested in include: Dolphin SDK 1.0 (05-08-03).zip NINTENDO Revolution SDK 2.1.7z Wii (Software Development Kit and tools for NDEV).rar NITRO 3ds max 6 Exporter v1.6.0.7z GAMECUBE_SDK_DEC_12_2001-SFE.rar Not sure all those are legit, and I'm definitely not sure that you would be able to provide those for me. |

| I believe that ArcExtract.exe can extract them (It's on Jaytheham's site)
But the models are still broken. |

| As for the old map, I think that it's way older than any screenshots. As in, it probably dates from around the time of Spaceworld 2001, or possibly older.
This is all speculation though. With VrTest having some textures from the old Alpha forest shown in the 2001 video, and it's map system using the tex folder like the DmSpot0 map is... In the old screenshots, I can't see Link's house at all in the oldest ones. The dock seems to be moved to it's final position already though, based on how it looks in relation to the beach. The textures are definitely different. The grass seems to be the same as the VrTest grass. Same with the beach. |

| I disassembled the .dol with IDA and as it turns out, there's quite a bit of raw source code near the end of the file.
Also it says it was made with Metrowerks CodeWarrior. Now, the GCN SDK from 2001 (the one on Assemblergames) actually comes with CodeWarrior. I'd post a sample but there's so much that you should really look for yourself. |

| I looked at the version in the Collector's Edition, and there's nothing new besides some rooms ripped out to make space, and the stuff you mentioned.
Oh, and by the way http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyYYHOMqgsk |

| The inconsistent dungeon numbering and non descriptive filenames in Twilight Princess make me think that Nintendo EAD developed some kind of automated obfuscation program that not only scrambles the names of things, but also automatically removes all resources not referenced by the game.
Wind Waker was either completed before they developed it, or possibly, as a result of setting deadlines which they never did before or since, was never ran through it. Now... I wonder how good Nintendo EAD's security really is... probably better than a lot of government security... |

| Well, it seems that Wind Waker also has the same crash debugger as TP, and much like Majora and OoT, except there's no button combos involved.
And also like OoT and MM, it doesn't appear on emulators. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suVftK0s9YI |

| Finally! A prototype where the world map is drastically different!
I'm really interested in looking at this! |
