Really what it shows is how late into development the skybox was changed. Like I said, it was in the OoTMQ trailer. How much time passed between that trailer and release?

10. The regular themes (not cutscenes) use a MIDI-esque format for music. Getting the game to play MP3s would be next to impossible. I'm sorry.

I believe that torch type is used in the Tower of the Gods, but someone should check that out before we discount it.

There's no way that cutscene can be used. Its STB file, which controls how the cutscene works, only has a camera section in it. Since no actors/models are called in the file, it couldn't run in-game.

Also, it might just be BMDViewer, but Link's animations look pretty rough.

My humble opinion of why that occurs is that without a proper Event_List.dat, the game can only handle the Wind Waker with programming. Try giving A_R00 the Event_List.dat from the Stage.arc in Sea and see if the camera behaves correctly.

Your humble opinion is also fact! I did what you said and copied the Event_List.dat from Sea and the glitch appears to stop. I know I asked this before but I still don't understand exactly what the Event_List.dat controls. Does it control camera actions? What does it do?

Event_List.dat is... well, a list of events. It controls a lot of things. Actors - like the Redead, for instance - can execute an event in the file. For the Redead, this comes in the form of the freezing attack it can do. It includes Link's animation and the camera position, and possibly other things.

From what I've gathered, the file can play animations and camera movements, as well as give Link inventory items (like the telescope) and disable input. It can also execute cutscenes. All of these events can be called through the Tag_Ev entity, in a DZS file's SCOBx chunk.

As for the glitch... My guess is that when the Wind's Requiem is played, the game itself pulls up the wind direction screen while it calls the camera position and "Disable input" from the Event_List.dat. The file that you previously used didn't have this event in it, so while the game pulled up the wind direction screen, it left the camera where it was and allowed you to move around.

Exiting the Wind Waker input screen also seems to be handled by the file. When you try to exit, Link puts the Wind Waker away, but the game can't return to the regular behavior.

I took it down because I thought the wooden texture in the picture belonged to the unused door model - which it doesn't, as it seems now. So I took the image down.

The image is from the textures of Lorenzo's house. Lorenzo is the camera guy. He has several pictographs up for viewing on the second floor of his house, and this is one of them.

The other pictorgraphs show used locations and objects, but all of them use the old skybox.

However, this picture, from a smaller frame by the stairs, appears to depict a nonexistent island:

At first glance, it resembles Windfall Island, but nowhere on that locale can you get a view that looks like this structure. There's also nothing like it on the Great Sea itself. The architecture is reminiscent of Hyrule Castle. What could it have been?

What the image appears to depict to me is a walled path (on the left side) traveling up a steep cliff (seen on the right side) towards a spire building with an arch in front of it.

I'm thinking that it has something to do with the Mysterious Island seen where the Tower of the Gods should be in this map from Tetra's Cabin:

The map for the Tower has no actual geometry, as the Tower itself is an object. It's very possible that this structure was on that island, but scrapped when the island was removed. It would be an odd landmark, and thus would qualify for Lorenzo having a picture of it. Since the Tower is related to Hyrule, it's also likely that the Castle and the spire structure in the pictograph have similar architecture because they were related.

Mechanism: Ingkiller
Rogue Termination drone.
Powerful security unit armed with beam weapons. Target limbs to disable them and damage the unit.
The Ingkiller was designed to protect points of entry within the Luminoth Fortress from the Ing; it now seeks to eliminate all living things. Its four attack limbs can be disabled, forcing it to use a secondary beam attack to defend itself. The beam system requires sensor updates to function; a vulnerable detection unit will extend periodically to search for targets. Destroy it to take the beam offline.

I'm wondering if this is an early version of the Caretaker Class Drone, which has this final Scan Log:

The Caretaker drone was designed to protect and maintain an experimental energy chamber. It uses electrically charged limbs to perform its duties. The drone requires sensor updates to fight: a vulnerable detection unit will extend periodically to search for targets. Destroying this unit would weaken its combat ability.

If it's not, the Ingkiller sounds like a mix of enemies. Specifically, the Quads (with the four attack limbs), Quadraxis (with the "beam system requires updates to function"), and the Caretaker Class Drone ("vulnerable detection unit"). It could be a completely new enemy.

It's likely an early version of the Caretaker, though.

Morphology: Emperor Ing
Ruler of the Ing Horde.
Target has absorbed large amounts of Phazon. Unstable biostructures detected; target crystalling masses to damage enemy.
Bioscans indicate that this is the eldest, strongest Ing in the Horde, the alpha and the omega. It has absorbed enormous amounts of Phazon into its body, energizing and mutating it in the process. Strangely, some of the Phazon has become unstable as a result; target clusters of crystallized Phazon to damage the enemy with feedback from their destruction.

Huh. Sounds bland, actually. But the "target clusters of crystallized Phazon" bit is interesting. Throughout the Prime series, you typically need to overcharge Phazon with... more Phazon. Maybe you were to get the Phazon Beam before the final Dark Samus battle?

Also, I'm glad that they dropped the different names for the guardians and just went to "Boost Ball Guardian," "Jump Guardian," ect.

The Big Octo freeing a Great Fairy and the wilted tree/Korok on Headstone Island are both unused, and should go on the page.

The Tetra actor in ADMumi, I believe, is used by the game during the cutscene when the King of Red Lions is talking to Valoo after the second run on the Forsaken Fortress. It's common for the cutscenes to use actors to load models instead of including the models in the archive. Probably to save space.

Now, I've known that the bell object, kui, is always loaded in Room26, even when the tower object is not (you can see it hanging in the sky with the telescope). Both this bell and the Tetra object in Room26 are unused, since Link rings the bell in ADMumi, and not the one on the ocean. These extra copies should go on the wiki, as well.

It should also be noted that if you ring the bell in Room26 by getting up there with cheats, nothing will happen. No cutscene will start, and the ringing sound effect won't even play. This is because the object that controls the cutscene that plays when you ring the bell doesn't exist in Room26, and the sound bank containing the bell's ringing ins't normally load in the Sea worldspace. Activating the bell still sets some kind of flag, though, because if you ring it and then get to the one you're normally supposed to ring, the cutscene will play upon Link spawning into the map.

I've noticed that there's a difference in backgrounds in Metroid Fusion:

Proto:

Final:

It seems like Samus's ship was originally going to have a unique background when using it as a navigation room. Unless, of course, this was a difference between the final US and EU versions.

Proto:

Final:

Oh, and the tiles in the proto seem to be lighter than in the final.

The second bomb in the Sector 2 video moves like an X parasite, so they may be placeholder graphics for objects testing movement patterns.

DAT

DRAGON

ROOST

CAVERN

This is why I support the idea that Dragon Roost Cavern was redesigned during the time between that demo and release.

For one, your only option from the start is to go to the room to Link's left. There's no way other way to go, compared to the final room where you can choose to go into that room or pass it and move along the wall next to the door.

Secondly, there's an island with a chest and a magtail on it in the center of the room. That's just a big ol' lava pit in the final.

Lastly, the monster-head-thing with a door as its mouth was moved to left from its original position, to Link's right.

If only we could get a copy of this demo! Who knows what kind of early maps we might find! Ugh...

I was looking around the Hyrule map in WW, searching for a way to barrier skip, and I found what seems to be a spawn point for Link way out of bounds beyond the canyon.
I don't know if it's used for the cutscenes though...

My guess is that it's used for the cutscene for when you first arrive in Hyrule.

The collision models of the islands (and dungeons, I believe) are already in their final positions, as well as the actors. The models use a section of the DZS (MULT) to translate the room model to match the collision model. At this point, it's not possible to reposition a collision model.

However, comparing the final Outset to DmSpot0, the collision models and actors are close to each other, but not the same. A direct actor swap between maps won't be possible.

Pinna Park: The yellow Yoshi is saying something like "Please accept my best wishes for your marriage. ?????? !"

Ricco Harbor: The Blooper looks like it's saying "We are ??????????"

The "ere" parts probably refer to the Japanese rendition of the English word "elevator" (エレベーター, 'erebeta'). The models are used in the Clockwork Room on the third floor, where one of them gives you a lift to the roof of the mansion. I'd guess that the longer one is the one for the Clockwork Room, while the shorter one is for the rooftop.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
