I hate to throw in another variable, but think about hazy mazy cave maze with the hazy ...haze. It works just like water, the way it sucks your hp like water, yet you (obviously) can't swim in it. And the hazy...haze has a different texture on the top. There needs to be a value that does that.

I noticed that there are textures for a bouncing yoshi egg, but I don't remember where a yoshi egg is in the game. Is there one or not?

There were going to be 32 levels, but 10 of them were going to be just like peach's slide, the aquarium, and little stages like that. that leaves us with 22 stages. Obviously 7 were cut out to rush the game.Personally, I think that there would have been 12 mini stages and 20 full on worlds, but that doesn't matter. 5-7 stages were cut in the rush to relese it. Didn't VL-tone say that there are still a few textures that haven't been dug up?If we can find enough data and stuff left over, we could probably recreate a few of those stages it a colision map editor is ever relesed.

I tryed to dig up old beta videos of super mario 64, but I could tell that everything is unchanged as far as level design goes, ie same collition map, but many textures were changed before it was relesed. The inside of the castle, however, seemed to be different. I wonder if there are any beta cartrages left in the world. Anyways, would the power/health meter be a texture or what? I would like to change all of the new stuff back to how the beta version looks. The beta coins looked like the old ones or the mario party ones. And the font looked Less childish.

In the beta version of super mario 64, the coins looked more like the mario party/old style coins and were bouncey. You can see that in this youtube video:

I think we should try to restore the coins and the phisics that go along with them. Could anyone figure out the phisics and we need an artist to do the coins.

I'm sorry that I'm being hypercritical, but from those screenshots it only looks like you wrangled some text and put some enemies randomly around the stages. Try to be a little bit more creative. Make a challenge other then adding enemies. Changing the names was innovative, but try to edit textures, make an obstical course. Move the red coins around.

you might be able to make a fire mario if you extend the punch attack to go on infedinentally, but there would be side effects...

I tryed all of the levels, and Chomp's playgrond was reletively intresting as far as the chalanges go, especially amp's secret coins. The only flaw with amp field was the one chain chomp in the middle and there were waaaaay to many amps. if you had 10 of them, that would have been perfect. The random fire was pointless, and the massive ammount of chain chomps gave my laptop a tiny bit of slowdown. I did not see any red coins at all and the cannons were broken. If you must remove the cannons, put a grate over it like the one out on the castle grounds. It will disapear when the person gets 120 stars, but it will do. Also, put the turret back on top of the castle; it is just ugly sitting above the moat and it isn't even solid anyways. If you must deleat it, ditch the windows that went on it. The one whomp's fortress level is horribly glitchy. Fix it asap. Also, remember that having a huge ammount of enemies dosn't make it any more fun. The massive ammount of those purple things and the chain choms and priana plants need to be used more sparingly. They are like salt; salt is good on corn, but over salting is bad for you and tastes awful. ask VL tone or read the help document on editing textures; editing a main texture can completly change the feel of a level. One last thing: try to use you imagination to make more one of a kind missions like the amp one. It was easy, but really unike anything I played before. Make more unique missions. And lastly, post better screenshots. The ones you posted arn't that great as far as what they are showing

Yeah, I edited the coins and they got screwed up. Could you change the spacific gravity of coins to make them bounce more?

What's a paragraph? Anyways, "Cloning gone Wrong" has the invisible walkway and weird chaincomps. I didn't get the joke, andyou couldn't see if you were in range of it because It's attack outranged the model of the chomp. The invisible walkway is out of place in a mario game. Getting to the top of the mountain is too hard. I mean, I wasn't able to get to the top of the mountain because of weird chomps. And as for the turret, make sure you have everything ready before you relese a version; the moved turret is not a good first impression. Happy hacking!

You can add high resolution textures with rice's video plugin. How can we change the power meter? Or the rest of the HUD? Or The text/fonts?
