J.Gail well this is only thing that pointed that at one time J.Gail was going to separate character.
Actually that death portrait appears in the game, when you beat Hol Horse (Hol has his own, but it's used with another version of the character). Since it's not mentioned in the above post, in order to access the debug in either game set the second-to-last byte of the region value to 7 (i.e. 0x7?, instead of 0x0? as is usually used). The easiest way to achieve this is to use the CPS-3 emu and set the region to 117. When the game starts, hold LP and press the service button, it will bring up the menu.
At least one sprite of Enya and Cameo's stand remained in there from what memory serves, as well as sprites for some of the zombies. JoJo's Venture on the CPS-3 had some sprites unique to *it* in the debug as well. |

| After reading this I hope nobody minds my massive throw together for the Asura Blade page...I've still got Cerberus' unused sprites to add in there. :X Though I do have one question: what about blatant arcade flyer differences? In particular for this game, its flyer shows a screenshot with a obviously different design for Rose Mary than the finished game (namely sporting a yellow coat), though no tiles of it seem to have made it in. |

Here's the shot from the flyer in question. Rose Mary sports a full on jacket, and Yashou was originally going to be called "Dokrou".
Doing some more digging in the rom I found what appears to either be names for a localization or beta names...going with the order shown, it seems to imply the following alternate names were once considered:
Alice -> Aries
Zam-B -> Crow (this one makes the most sense)
Taros -> Bolt
While Curfue's name is listed here, S-Geist and "Doppleganger" are not.
EDIT: And shortly after THAT we get an alternate sub title! "Sword of Doom" |

I actually ended up lucking out and able to use it in the article anyway: those two portraits, albeit with RoseMary lacking her coat overlay, are within the game's tiles, apparently right next to a massive animated series of select screen background frames...they certainly cut a ton out of this game.

This might singlehandedly be the game with the most unused material I've ever seen. I went through and did some messing around with Artmoney to find the game's music tracking value, and with a little luck managed to sort out what songs were used for every part of the game from the list of 0-40. Interestingly enough, eight tracks remained that are used nowhere in the game, save for one special case:
Track 7
Track 13
Track 15
Track 26
Track 29
Track 31
Track 32
Track 37
Track 31 is the special case: if you hack the game to use stage #14, you get a stage where you're forced into the center of the screen, and the timer is set to 30 seconds, with this track playing in the background. Given that Cerberus (later used in Asura Buster) was probably meant for here, the track feels a little out of place and might just be defaulting to it...
Either way, enjoy. I'll try and set these up on the wiki if I can get some time, or if someone else wants to just grab the audio from the videos and fire away. |

| Dragon actually seems to exist in name only at this point, and loading the character in question just loads a mirror match with glitched sprites. No dragon tiles seem to be in. I haven't gone through to see if any of the music is unused in it yet, but it does have significantly less removed material than Asura Blade did: King has a fistful of unused sprites and Rose Mary has some unused winposes, but other than that that's all I know of for now. |

| Actually they were intended to be playable, they even have ending sequences. If you switch to them at the last vs screen while fighting Pyron using cheats or memory hacking and beat the game, you get their endings that were later used in Night Warriors. However in the US version at the very least, all of the text is dummied out. |

Sadly enough, it looks a lot better with Scorpion doing it. Kinda reminiscent of the spine ripper Sub-Zero has.
With Quan-Chi...it just makes you go "Huh?" |

This is an odd question, but I need to ask it. I've been tearing apart Splatterhouse 2010 at the seams, since I plan to modify the hell out of it to restore cut content and material. And trust me, there's a lot of material, and I'd like to post this on TCRF.
Now here's where the topic title fits in. The game features several pics of the female character Jennifer nude that you can unlock. A good chunk were cut from the game. There's nothing overtly sexual about the images, other than bare breasts in some. It seems odd however to say "these are here" and then go "but you can't see them".
So what's the policy/handling on this sort of thing? |

I think given how much I'm wading through here, I'm going to go ahead and make a sub-page in the article with a big "Warning: Nudity" disclaimer. There's so much to wade through so this'll end up being a slow and steady production either way.
Here's the article for anyone who wants to see how things are progressing: http://tcrf.net/Splatterhouse_(2010)

I actually agree with you on that last line, given that really these pages are far from kid friendly anyway (those developer rants, anyone).
Still, the sub-page does at least quell issues with folks showing an effort was made, and I do have enough material to flesh it out.

Originally posted by gabrielwoj Yea I saw that, please put an warning on it.
I already find some stuff like that, some games they use the outfit as separated files.. But I don't see why to post.
Because its unused, and rather blatantly. This is also different from that example since the image used is a completely different file entirely.
I thought about this heavily before posting it and the warning should be enough. We have enough profanity flying around the wiki in cut dialogue that if they can't handle some bare nipples they're probably on the wrong site. |

EDIT: I can agree with the above.
EDIT2: Wait, are you suggesting we move all such images to that sub-page? That's kind of vague. |

If I recall correctly, the bite grab sprites were also used in Midnight Pleasure from NW, right?
And I've seen that location test image before too...you can actually make it come up in the Saturn version by setting the color scheme back to the original game interestingly enough.

Curious to know what these two read. The first is Morrigan vs Onslaught's opening speech from Marvel vs Capcom, and unlike what the english version says Pyron's name doesn't appear in there, nor Jedah's like I assumed it might given the "savior" bit in english.
The second is what Onslaught says to every character. The first box never got translated to english it seems, and appears in the Japanese version after the two pre-fight banter boxes. The second is the form 2 intro text.

...um, anyone regarding the images I posted? A friend of mine took a gather at the first box and was able to make out some of it (basically Onslaught saying all will be destroyed in his name and he will become the god of anger) but the second couldn't be translated.
At the very least the text does count towards a regional difference in the games, no? |

Is there a limit on sound files per article? Reason I ask is because I'm currently going to make a stab at finishing Splatterhouse's article today, and there are quite a few lines of recorded audio for the cut dialogue, all in OGG format. I can combine some of the longer streams of dialogue together, but in more than a few cases that's going to make one very large file out of a lot of smaller ones.

Skylanders: Giants actually has two unused characters: one debugger, the other...not so much. To access them, simply swap their files for a those of a character you already own (112_TitanLife is the easiest to do, since you get Tree Rex with the game anyway).
*099_Debug_Minion: Uses Whirlwind's character model. Shoots long range rainbows if you press A, X cycles through the elemental type for the character. Pressing A with no enemies in range results in hearts fluttering from her.
*112_Sniper: This one's...the really interesting one. The Sniper is actually a unique, semi-complete character appearing much like Boomer, but with a small pistol and a large sniper-rifle strapped to his back. A fires short three-shot spreads, while X will have him create brush around him, crouch down and let you angle your shot. However the rest of him isn't complete: an upgrade tree is available but not set up, he has no intro when you summon him (instead appearing as a red Spyro), and the rifle clips through his body as he walks around. Either they started to make him and aborted, or he's going to be DLC. Hoping for the latter as this is easily one of Giant's cooler designs. |

Splatterhouse has three whole sections of level that just go unused for 4-2, because it skips right to a latter part of the stage instead. No wonder if felt so rushed as a stage. |
