I noticed that the demo disc for the Saturn version of Silhouette Mirage hasn't really been discussed anywhere, so I decided to download it and take a look. Surprisingly, it appears they actually left the entire game on the disc. All files on the disc are dated 7/16/1997, which is only a couple weeks from the date of 7/30/1997 on the final retail disc. Not a whole lot of room for drastic differences, but this could have at least some stuff worthy of documentation.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any easy way to get access to the rest of the game. The debug code (hold X+B+Z and press Start at the Treasure logo) works, but choosing any levels besides 2-1 just warps you back to the titlescreen. I tried making savestates from the retail and coaxing the demo to load it, but once dialogue or gameplay starts any level freezes. Opening level cutscenes seem to work at least.
I'm guessing there's a flag they set that makes sure any attempt to get to anywhere before the second level forces the game to take you away from it. Anyone have the skills to bypass this so we can see the whole disc?
