I would certainly hope so. As BMF once said in a post -- and with which I wholeheartedly agree -- sites with "development notes" and stuff like that are a dime a dozen, and what makes TCRF unique is its "still in the game-only" unused content. I'm against this idea on the whole, but if we must include it, I'd rather not see it cluttering the main pages.


There are many sites that contain the development history for games. Unfortunately, they tend to focus on a single game or series and do not act as a wikipedia like the one we have now, something I think would be a useful resource for the gaming community.

Anyway, we can always try it and see how it works out. If it's really not working, we can take another vote and go back to the way things were before. How about a 2 month trial period or something?

Absolutely, I agree. I think the information on development notes pages should be sourced so it's not just wild speculation. Either screenshots plainly showing something like the reed from Ocarina of Time being a working item in development or direct quotes from the creators, no hearsay. AeonicButterfly and I can work on preparing a sample page for Ocarina of Time and we can see how that goes and present it to people to see what everyone thinks, how's that?

Doubutsu no Mori has a little tree stump of sorts that you can talk to who gives you a ton of debug options. I can't remember what they are, but someone gave me screenshots of all his speech bubbles to translate some years ago on ZSO, which I unfortunately no longer have. I'll ask the person if he still has them or remembers how to activate it, if you're not sure what I'm talking about.

We know for sure that Xenogears was once Final Fantasy 7, but there's another rumor going around saying it was Chrono Cross 2.

From the Japanese Chrono Cross entry on Wikipedia:

"Chrono Trigger 2" and "Xenogears"

Xenogears originally began its planning and development as Chrono Trigger 2; after Xenogears was done being created the team regathered to make a sequel to Chrono Trigger, and the Chrono Cross team had a lot of the same staff as Xenogears. As a result, the game has many similarities, and the style of battle system is a sort of evolution of that in Xenogears.

Also, in the demo movie of Xenogears this line is used:

"So let love's blood flow! Like the seas of hell, it runs red and deep...!"*

This line does not appear in Xenogears' script, but was later used in Chrono Cross' script.

Furthermore, Lucca, a character from a previous game, appears in Xenogears as a guest, whose last bonus line makes a reference to the Silbird** and such.


*Translated as "Now, let love bleed! Darker and deeper than the seas of hell!" and uttered by Lynx in Chrono Cross.

The above translation was done by Andrew Vestal, who co-wrote this article a good 12 years ago.

Now, after much searching and with the help of Mako from Xenogears-Fansite a page full of demo videos, including the one in question, has been found. The line appears about 1/3rd of the way through this video, when the red Transformer-like face appears on the screen.

Does anyone have other proof of this theory?

Had the dude wanted to talk about his bike in particular, he would have used 俺の and が. は is used comparatively, so the sentence carries the connotation "Bikes (in comparison to other things) are fast." が is used to refer to something specifically and put an emphasis on it, while の decrees ownership. 「俺のバイクが早い」 would translate to "MY bike is fast." As it is, the sentence is talking about bikes in a general sense.

I double-checked with a native speaker who confirmed the above.

above U+007E. Tidy escapes the URI for you as recommended by
HTML 4.01 section B.2.1 and XML 1.0 section 4.2.2. Some user agents
