Don't know if any of you remember me. It's Leroy Gerrits / Tuvai / Foulu / FFLeroy or whatever I was called from the Tuvai Bulletin Board / Acmlm's board era, years ago!
Some people I recently got in touch with again pointed me to this board. I joined hoping to find some more old familiars. In fact, some other people and I've recently started this major searching spree, looking for old members, and even made a Facebook group page.
I'll try to post here regularly, been ages since I've visited an Acmlm's board copy and its fun to know they still go around.
Also check out my Facebook, or contact me through mail (leroygerrits -at- gmail -dot- com), AIM (Tuvai net) or MSN (leroygerrits@home.nl). |

Acmlm's Board split 3 ways in 2007, producing ||board and Acmlm's Board II first, and then the latter split into board2 and Jul. Then, ||board died and board2 became mostly inactive.
I remember you! Didn't you use to have a hand/fist like thing as an avatar before?
And figures things split up. I've went to board.acmlm.org before, but it disappeared not too long ago. |

Heh, this has been (and probably will be) a discussion point forever.
I supported IE6 for a very long time, but just recently started using PNG images and such (and no, no PNG 'hack' either), instead of a bazillion GIF images for a templated website with different background colors. As long as the website/application is usable/functioning properly with IE6, I'm fine with it. People that persist on using that antique browser, will have to cope with gray backgrounds behind my images and charts. |

Looking back at my old source, there were a lot more glitches and security holes that could've been abused other than server-level exploits.

Haha, we were all pretty stupid crazy in our youth, huh? Ah, to be young again.
Anyway, welcome to Jul ADTLG/Tuvai/Leroy. I was surprised when you emailed me since I was actually looking around for any TBB's that may have still been active. Did you get out many copies? I still have one on my hard drive at home, had a working copy up on a domain of mine but it has since expired. Did some modification to the appearance and made it look good
Edit: and forgot to add my new intro pic

There are actually quite a few copies circulating on people's hard drives. Mainly versions 1.4 and 1.5. That code is really outdated though, should I ever start anything again, I'm just going to write everything from scratch. |

Keep in mind that some people can't upgrade either. Take big companies that are running old software that only works in IE6. That's why I decided to keep everything still functioning, but just not caring about little graphic / layout irks anymore.
And Firefox starts to suck too, if you ask me. Ever since they upgraded to version 3, it often completely crashes, and it's become a real resource hog. I also hate how it 'remembers' all your sessions and just continues completely from when you closed it last time. |

I mainly use my laptop nowadays. Nothing fancy though. It's a HP Compaq 8710p, with the following specs:
Intel dual core 2,2 GHz
2 GB DDR3 RAM
320 GB HD
512 MB graphics card
Windows 7
I don't play any games, and all I need to run are Eclipse, Visual Studio, SQL Server, XAMPP and Paint Shop Pro. |

Paint Shop Pro? Get with the times, Photoshop has always been better! But if you're using legit licenses... yeah, PSP is the cheaper route to go
For the simple image editing I do, Paint Shop Pro is sufficient. Pretty much all I do myself graphics-wise is user interface design, using a lot of icon sets. I never design webpages, I much rather pay other people to do that for me. |

Have you tried the newer versions? They're up to 3.6.6 or something now.
The early versions of 3 were crashy garbage, yeah, but they fixed that later on. Had they not they may as well have given up on competing in the mega-market of different browsers.
Of course, since it's based on my favorite old Netscape stuff from the land before time, I'm not leaving it for any of the flashy new browsers... :p
It did get a little better indeed, and I have 3.6.6 in fact. But still, I remember in the good old days it was fast, not bulky, didn't consume so much resources and never crashed. |

I don't think I've ever known another Leroy.
My parents decided to give me that name after listening to a song of Leroy Brown, in fact.

I found Delial on LiveJournal a while back, and also Kharpern on Twitter, but didn't say anything...
Now that's a familiar face. Even though we have quite the history, I'm still relieved I'm finding more and more people from that epic era years ago. Even if we were all kids at the time.
Anyway, if with Delial you mean SorceressDelial, I happened to come across her on AIM 2 days ago, and we added each other on Facebook right away. Kharpern I never really had much contact with to begin with. I only know she was quite active at Acmlm's board way back. |

| The Web Developer add-on is practically the only reason I still use Firefox. Should there be a plugin like that for Chrome, I'd switch right away. |

There is. It's called Web Developer.
And it's made by the same guy who makes the Firefox extension.
xD
Bye Firefox. |

What scares me more than quotation pyramids, is the fact that I always see an orange/blue layout/scheme now, regardless of the color scheme I select in my edit profile page. |

Frames are nice, if you got stuck somewhere in 1998.
About 2 years ago I had to renew some old web application written in sloppy HTML, with Visual Basic.NET on the backend, and a hell of a lot of Javascript. Pretty much all of that javascript resolved around controlling / directing an iFrame that was constantly in a part of the layout. Ugh. One of the scariest projects I've had up until now. The whole thing was practically built solely for Internet Explorer 6, too. |

No wonder names like 'Terra' are often taken, as it's from a game millions of other people played. I used to go around as 'Tuvai' before, which was pretty much never taken, except for on AIM (I used 'Tuvai com' and 'Tuvai net' there). Nowadays I just go around using my real name, or if it's taken, 'Le Roi'. |

Awesome page! And the last time I tried messing with HTML5 was when I was using a video converted to different formats. I didn't really like the lack of control I had, as compared to JWPlayer for playing a flash movie for example. Then again, I haven't tried it that much yet. |

I don't have a degree, yet I have plenty of options when it comes to job offers. In my field of work (software and web development) certification and a good portfolio is much more appreciated and relevant. I have a MCTS (ASP.NET 3.5) certificate and soon will have a Zend (PHP 5) certificate. |

That's a cropped version. I could post the original HD version, but that'd scare a lot of people and effectively cut this board's activity in half. |

I go to the casino every once in a few months, and I usually play Blackjack there. I always bring € 50 with me, no more and no less. Until now, I've always made profit, even if it is just a little. |

| I always have either Lacoste or Davidoff Coolwater. They're not too 'sweet', or strong smelling. |
