*ahem*

I've done a few things here and there regarding Gunstar Super Heroes. There's a LOT of unused text in the game, possibly debug menu related stuff but could also be internal names for certain things. Also, in regards to that missing stage, sounds exist for it inside the game. (Audience cheering for example.) There are also other interesting bits of sound samples. (A very peculiar "GOLDEN SILVER" voice sample, for one. I don't recall Golden Silver ever saying much, if anything at all.)

Here's a lot of text regarding labels:
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=pDiTjWcF
It's interesting to note that the internal names of the music match up with the OST names.

This is also inside the ROM:

BASED ARM..100RETSU FIRE..OHANAMI FIRE..ABARENBO LASER..SYACHOH LASER.....Z.U.e.U.t.U...U...U.CONTINUE ?..YES..N O..PRESS START BUTTON..SELECT-CANCEL..STAGE SELECT..CHARA SELECT..B-CANCEL..A-SET UP
It's probably prototype menu stuff.

And here's something really interesting: character profiles!
BIRTH:004/3/30..COUNTRY:MARS..HOBBY:YAMAGOMORI..SHOT TYPE:LIGHT..BODY FIST:RAPID..G-SAVER:RAPID..

BIRTH:003/11/21..COUNTRY:MARCURY..HOBBY:GUN CORECT..SHOT TYPE:HEAVY..BODY FIST:RAPID..G-SAVER:RAPID

I love the engrish. I'm not sure which one corresponds to Red/Blue. Anyone know exactly what "yamagomori" is?

Supposedly, other characters could be selected besides Kirby. Might be something to look into.

http://snesmusic.org/v2/profile.php?profile=set&selected=20103

Apparently another sort of "test" cartridge has been dumped but I can't find a ROM image of it. I'm bringing this up because we all know the treasure trove that was in the last one, perhaps this one could have some interesting innards as well?

Also, if you take a listen to that set, some unused "music" (more like sounds) was already found in it. Interesting music is in it too. Ever wanted to hear a pure SNES version of the Zelda II title screen? There you go.

I see more of an electric piano, but who knows what it is. Unless the model is still in the game somewhere.

Both WIP obviously but I think I'm going in the right direction.

I'm speculating it's an emulator-side issue. The SNES burn-in test cart was designed to heavily rely on hardware. A similar problem is in the form of the Knuckles Chaotix December 7th prototype in that it used prototype 32x hardware, and when played on an emulator, was rather unstable (however playable to a degree).

A long time ago, like way before Tahaxan and all this other DS hacking stuff, I put Kirby Canvas Curse through an old (heh) program, un-LZ GBA I think it was. Anyway here's what I found:

There's probably more if anyone's willing to look.

No, it's not Sonic CD. It's a planned edit of Sonic 2 and the graphics have yet to be inserted. I started off making a few graphics in SonED2. Usually I start off by blanking the palette, making a new one, and then a few 8x8s or 16x16s. After the groundwork is laid, I use MSpaint.

I'm glad people are getting the impression of SMS/GG games, because I'm aiming to make a 16-bit tribute to them.

Yeah, this is what I was getting at, and Sintendo is correct as well. Both were issues regarding that prototype. I believe one has been fixed in the latest Kega Fusion update (timing issue) however the PWM hardware problem... not too sure about that. Even though the timing issue is fixed, the prototype is still kinda unstable.

But anyway this is kinda getting off-topic. Nensondubois, is there anything of note in this SNES test cartridge?

I tested it on my real cart, and I get the same names. There is also the full Wario Land 2 soundtrack in the rom, and I've yet to make a music modifier for that. TODO.

The only ones I know of that were planned for GBC DX versions are Kirby's Dreamland 2 and Metroid II. Are they listed? Also, the WL2 soundtrack is most likely a leftover from the dummied demo.

There's this. I don't see any differences offhand other than the weird palette. It's only a sliver, once he releases the ROM maybe we'll find more.

The sound, too. It fits perfectly for a coin.

Coincidentally, I just found some interesting unused content for Wario Land yesterday. Stay tuned.

I was just thinking about Wario Land and if it had unused stuff. Looking forward to it.

I don't remember it, so unless anyone else does it's safe to say it's unused.

I find irony in that image, with Nintendo's whole "anti-religion" policy. Anyone can see the cross there, and the structure looks like a church.

Yes, when you beat the "flipping tiles" game where you can get Toadies that give you nothing, and if you don't hit the hidden Kamek tile at all, he flies out of it.
