Do you know what time it is? TIME FOR GENERIC INTRO! *crowd cheers in the background*

I'm Rasenganfan2, Rasen for short. (Ra-sin-gun-fan-2.) I'm an otaku, a huge anime/manga nerd. I enjoy movies, Avatar The Last Airbender, games, and Netflix. Oh God I love Netflix.

Also, if, in an off chance, I break a rule, warn me and it won't happen again. I'm a Global(Full) mod on another Acmlm forum called Vizzed, so I follow rules. I follow every rule except for language, usually. I speak on the internet like I speak in my mind. Oh, if only I were able to speak like that in real life~

They seriously considered a nuke?

Darkdata: Nice picture. Go Sam Fisher! To be honest, I want BP to go down. They have 750+ accidents on their record. The next biggest set of accidents? 8. I'm not joking, they have Exxon and some other company beat by 700+ accidents. For shame, BP, for shame.

To be perfectly honest, why don't they just build an eco-friendly pipe to shove in the hole and fix it? Or just pull out the duct tape.

O rly?

How long were you there? I've been there for about a year an' a half now. Joined late December '08. Pretty sure you weren't there. I joined in a time of low activity, but things changed when the boards direction changed.

Also, why did you leave?

NSnick: I'm pretty sure that you were a mod, I recall seeing your name.

Xkeeper: Just like with NSnick, I'm pretty sure I saw your name once before. On Vizzed, I mean.

Terra: Yup, that's what I meant by language. I don't cuss like a sailor, but I cuss fairly often.
Hiryuu: A fellow Narutard? AWESOME! I've never met another one of my kind that wasn't a kiddie, or my age. I find it hard to have a conversation with someone my age.

I, like Orlandu, don't like side-scrolling MMO's. Though considering how horrible MMX7 was in it's 3D sections, it's a very good thing that they didn't make it 3D. I was also wondering why Capcom trademarked Mega Man Universe a few weeks, or months, back. Guess this is why. I wonder if they're going for 8-bit, HD-sprite, or 2.5D graphics. I hope they go for the HD-sprite treatment, like in Street Fighter II HD for Xbox Live Arcade.

I was on IGN and saw this article

" Today, the PSP fights back. After having to deal with years and years of people complaining about the system having no games, about the games that are coming out not being that good, and about the PSPgo not being worth its $250 price tag, Sony's changing things.

A bunch of titles are dropping to $9.99 and becoming known as "Favorites," four games are getting added to the PSP Greatest Hits catalog, and the PSPgo will now be bundled with three games.

Kicking off the push is a plethora of games from both Sony itself and third parties dropping to $9.99.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. I feel like I did when I first joined Vizzed. Sadly, it has changed, and I'm finding it hard to keep activity there. I figured that I was just running out of ideas, but since my day here, I realize that it's just not as fun as it used to be. It sucks, but... in any case, thanks. I think I'll stick around, I like it here.

I love the iPad. I only got to use one for a few minutes in Best Buy, but I love it. The keyboard... meh. But it has plenty of games. Not only that, but it truly has an amazing user interface. I know, PCs and Macs have games, but I don't use a computer to game, I use consoles. The iPad would be a movie player (videos from iTunes, other sources, Netflix), gaming (games like Plants vs Zombies HD, NOVA HD, Chaos Rings, Need for Speed, etc), music, web browsing. It would, more or less, be used for everything. Though it wouldn't ever be a replacement for an actual laptop, it would be an amazing device.

Hiryuu: I like that device, it's pretty neat. It'd be good if you wanted a tablet, though it wouldn't be as good as an iPad.

Orlandu: You're married? Erm, I mean, I wanted a PSP Go first. I have an original 1000 model, but last year I wanted a new PSP. New hardware, slimmer, etc.. But the PSP Go came out, and I was like "ohhhhh that's sexy". Seriously, even now with my new PSP 3000, I can't help but say just how damn sexy the PSP Go is. I used a Go in Best Buy. Glad I went for the 3000. The buttons don't really press in.

Because of this attack plan, I'm not sure whether to play the PS2 or PSP version of Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow.

Oooooh, that green one looks epic. Seriously, it's Mjolnir Armor green. If you don't know, the Mjolnir Armor is the armor used by the Spartan-II's in the Halo series. I love Halo. Not just the games, but the books as well. Hell, instead of naming my laptop "Rasenganfan2-PC" I named it "John-117" which is the name of the Master Chief, who is the protaginast of a few of the books and all of the games, except for Reach. ANYWAY, point is, I love that green. I have the original model DS from the year that the DS came out. I remember just how shocking the 3D was. I mean, I'd never seen 3D graphics on a handheld. It's still amazing, even if the PSP is capable of better graphics.

Speaking of the DS, has anybody noticed just how few developers take advantage of the hardware? Seriously, it's a damn shame. Look at Super Mario 64 DS. It looks amazing. Much better than its N64 counterpart. But oh no, most developers make games that look like shit. Look at the original Naruto Ninja Destiny. Terrible graphics. It seems that only Nintendo can make good 3D graphics on the DS, with the Mario games and Zelda games. Mind you when I'm talking about graphics, I mean 3D graphics. A ton of the 2D games look great.

VGfreak! Great to see you here. You're one of my favorite members on Vizzed, albeit one that hardly posts. Shocked to see you here. When I saw you posted here, I shat bricks. There are quite a few members from Vizzed on here, and quite a few members I've never seen. Both of which have good people.

You have to keep in mind that it has to broadcast the same image twice in order to create the 3D effect, therefore the graphics won't look like a game on one of the HD consoles. Unless, of course, games have 2 settings: 3D and high-res. Sad part is, I doubt it. Who would go for making the same game twice, much less making it twice for the same package.

Anyway, when I heard about the hardware over on IGN, my jaw dropped. Handhelds holding 3D games is still a new concept to me, but a handheld that's close to being on par with the HD consoles? I can't wrap my head around it. Honestly, just think of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: 3D edition on your 3DS. Or better yet, a port of Fallout 3 to the 3DS. Now THAT would be fucking legendary. Sadly, I'm pretty sure I'm only dreaming. But, you can't deny: it'd be a dream come true to play Fallout 3 or Oblivion on the 3DS.

Old news, to be honest. I saw that on teh news when I was 9 or something.

Long story short: Cell phones are screwing honeybees up, honeybees polinate plants, no honeybees no plants. No flowers, no trees, no plants. Sat phones might be better, not sure. Too bad Sat Phones cost a small fortune...

Posted on 06-05-10 05:32:32 AM, in Great iPhone/iTouch/iPad games Link
If you have any good iPhone OS games, post them here, and include the price with it, and preferably in United States Dollar, or USD for short.

Plants vs Zombies - $3 USD for iPhone/Touch, $10 USD for iPad - This game was created by Popcap, creator of many other tower defense games. You see, this game is unique. There is a Zombie Apocolypce, or however you spell it, and to defend yourself, you have plants. You have Sunflowers to gather Sun, your basic resource. You have Peashooters which shoot peas. You have Squash which squashes Zombies, etc.. I played the iPad demo, and it was amazing. Much better than the PC version which I had played prior to that. It's so good that I stopped playing the PC version, which I had been playing like my ass was on fire. The game mixes strategy and humor seamlessly, and it pays off. Not to mention that the graphics, while cartoony, are great.

Hero of Sparta - $5 USD - This game puts you in the role of King Argos, the King of Sparta. Your fleet gets destroyed, and you embark on an epic quest to return to your homeland of Sparta. You fight many a mythical being, with many different weapons and combos. The graphics are great, gameplay is solid and fun, controls are good, and it has a good soundtrack. This may be a rip-off of God of War, but it's a rip-off well worth the change. Believe me, if you have a PSP or iDevice, pick this up. (PSP version is in the minis section).

Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition - $8 USD (my source is a year old, price may be down) - Relive the adventure that started the epic saga known as the adventures of Monkey Island. This is a port of a reboot(or remake?) of an old game from 1990. This new version contains hand-drawn visuals, fully voiced characters, a good-sized adventure, and lots of humor. This game is less about adventure as it is humor. This game is freakin' hilarious. The iPhone version has suffered the loss of HD, but that is all. You can still hotswap between the CD-ROM enhanced Monkey Island from the 90's and Special Edition, you can still listen to spoken dialouge. Also, I've heard that the controls aren't the best, but still work well

*yawns* I'll think of more later, I'm tired. Also, some of these games I've played on other systems, such as Hero of Sparta (played PSP version) and Monkey Island (360 version), but these are the same, more or less. Tell us some good games from the iPhone OS, and please list the price in USD.

yde: The iPad version has all of the features of the iPhone version, but with the plants taking place on the top of the screen like the PC version, and it has better graphics than both the iPhone and PC versions.

Orlandu: I watched a video on Crystal Defenders and it looks amazing.

NOVA - $7 USD for iPhone/Touch/Pad - Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance is a game that puts you in a universe where Earth because unsuitable for human need, people move into space in shuttles called "Near Orbits". The NOVA is an organization to protect the humans from one-another, similar to Police. While is space, the humans come across a race called Xenos, which are aliens who want nothing more than the destruction of the human race. You play as a former NOVA member who got reinstated forcefully, and you take on the Xenos to help preserve the human race. It's a first person shooter. The iPhone/Touch version is IGN's top iPhone game of '09, and IGN does NOT like the iPad version, due to various factors, such as touch for the sake of it, and clunky controls.

The Zero Virus theme from Megaman X5. That, and the VERY creepy purple picture of Sigma creeped me the fuck out. It still scares me to this day... I listened to the first second and it scares me. LEAVE ME ALONE!

I can't believe how many things I forgot.

Majora's Mask: The moon... oh, the moon. Scared the hell out of me. The last day, at night, when the moon is so large. Especially when it starts falling. Oh God, when it stars falling I always got terrified. The music and everything. Mind you I was 5 when this came out and my brother was playing it. Things are scary when you're that young. And when your big brother insists on playing it in the dark. The darkness made it much scarier. I started playing Majora's Mask a few months ago, and, while not as creepy, it was still creepy. Oh, the aliens! So scary, how they're all over the place and they... just everything.

<object width="425" height="344"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wkcjFC0zc-Q&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Now then, on to my fear about zombies. My brother was into Resident Evil when I was 7 or so. He played them, the Gamecube versions. As mentioned above, he likes to play games in the dark. So imagine being 7, watching him play a game with zombies in the dark. Since then, I'm dead afraid (no pun intended) of zombies. Seriously.

Last but not least, the game over thing from Star Wars Rogue Squadron. I couldn't find a video on YouTube or Megavideo, but the Rebel symbol comes spiraling into view along with creepy music.
