| As far as I know, the only unused dialogue in Castlevania 2 is that which I've already posted to the wiki. It was actually Dean from TheAlmightyGuru.com who brought the unused text to my attention when he was making his own hack of the game, and I confirmed them all by looking them up in a hex editor. The Unused Name Entry music in Castlevania 1 is already on the wiki. Looks like someone already converted my MP3 to OGG format, too. |

I found some strange stuff in SNES HyperZone: An unused Halken logo stored with the ending graphics. The big "HAL" on the left is used, but the "HALKEN" on the right with the logo above it is not. I wonder if it was in the Japanese version. I should probably play it to find out.  A Lolo sprite hidden with the ship upgrade graphics!  I'm not clear on what those square eyeball-like things are above him, though. But I don't know much about Lolo.  This is REALLY weird! During one particular part of the ending sequence, you're shown a background made of microchips. This is stored with the background data for that part - A part of the game's title in a font that isn't used anywhere, along with what looks like text for an Option menu! As far as I know, no such option menu exists unless it's hidden in the code. That option menu font is also different from any other font used in the game, even for the hidden Sound Test. Someone with more hacking skills than I might want to check into this. There may be a way to activate that Option Menu... Edit: Solved some of the mysteries...   Japanese opening demo vs. American opening demo. That's why that Halken logo was in there.   It's used in the ending, too.   Japanese title screen vs. American title screen. That explains where that crazy font came from and why it's stored on the microchip background... because the Japanese title used that font and the microchip background was seen through the letters. No word on that Option Menu yet, though. I could not find it on the Japanese version, although the same exact text for it is stored in the same exact spot. Also, the American version lets you access a sound test by holding L & R and pressing start at the title screen, but the Japanese version does not. |

That looks to me like it was planned for the game to be used with 3D glasses like Rad Racer, but it was never fully-implemented. I think that should definitely be on the Wiki. Unfortunately, it's impossible to get a screenshot of it. Because the effect alternates frames, any screenshots taken look normal.  Left: Japanese version, Right: American version   Left: Japanese version, Right: American version I also should probably mention that for some bizarre reason, the Material Factory and the Old Capital levels were switched around in the American version. This explains why the music for those stages is switched around in the Sound Test and also why the demo shows the ship you'd normally be using only in the Old Capital stage playing the Material Factory stage.   The left is what the demo shows and the right is the actual in-game level. You can't play as that green ship on the Material Factory level, it's impossible, but the demo is based on the Japanese version where the levels are switched and you do, in fact, play as that ship on the Material Factory. Edit: This whole "3D Mode" thing has got me wondering now about Arcana/Card Master. I wonder if the reason Hal made an SNES RPG in first-person view is because they may have planned to apply the 3D effect to it, too... |

| If you like Zelda-style games, I highly recommend Alundra 1 and 2 for the Playstation and Equinox for the SNES. If you like really oldschool RPGs, the NES port of Might and Magic is absolutely fantastic. |

| Alundra 1 and 2 have good plots. I'm not really capable of recommending modern games because I don't own any modern systems. The most modern game with a good plot I could recommend is Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. |

| I can't be sure where my first message board post was made. It was too long ago. First I can remember was a friend's site called Renuldar-Star (no longer exists, but I still have contact with some of the members). After that, various small boards here and there, and then the original N-Sider BBS (1998-1999) at Nintendo.com. Then the Game Pond Ezboard and various other ezboards for a couple of years, and who knows what else. |

| It's an avi and I doubled the framerate to 120, hoping that would "trick" YouTube when it converts it down to 30 and keep the blur effect visible. The rest of that information I'd have to look up. |

| VirtualDub just happens to be what I've been using to edit the video, but I don't see any place to change those settings that are mentioned under that video's description. I see nothing that says "linear blending" or "interpolation mode". I'll keep digging... Edit: N/M. Found it under the Filters. |
