I'm going to wager, given other parts of the 3dsbrew wiki and that a lot of the encryption is handled by hardware, that the encryption is some AES algorithm. (And before anyone asks, no, this information cannot be used to figure out the key.)

Yes, there have been a number of GPL violation lawsuits. The FSF themselves don't sue unless it affects FSF-made software (GNU project software), but other authors have sued for their own work.

I knew Xkeeper through Sonic Retro, and registered originally to post some hacking things (extracting PCM samples form some Genesis games) that I also posted there... then TCRF happened, heh; then later I got more involved in IRC and here I am now again
