Happy birthday.

This place and the people connected to it have, both directly and indirectly, contributed much to my life. I spent many of my formative years in this community, and many of my lasting friendships began either here or on a related community.

Without going into the details, being here has also helped shape my hobbies, my perspective on the world, and my sense of identity. It feels silly to say, but I wouldn't be the person I am now without these experiences.

Jul means a lot to me, and I'm glad it has stayed up for so long. I've had a great time here, and even as things quiet down, I'm sure I'll stick around.

The most popular spinoff Acmlmboard is Vizzed.

It's been around for quite a long time, but the original Acmlmboard code has been modified quite a bit, and it doesn't have many ties with communities related to Jul or the original Acmlm's Board. The community and its purpose are also quite different than the typical Acmlmboard.

It's a bit of a mess, and I wouldn't recommend looking too closely.

I've tried that kind of cheese before. It's pretty good, and it really is squeaky!

The trick is that the cheese is baked as part of its preparation. Its name literally means "bread cheese" because of it.

It varies quite a bit. When I'm busy, I often get only 3 to 4 hours a night. When I'm on break, I can sleep up to 10 hours if I don't bother setting up an alarm. On a typical day, though, 6 to 7 hours is about what I would expect.

I have various difficulties falling asleep, so I often don't get enough sleep just because I fall asleep too late on a regular basis. I can function on low sleep for a few days just fine, but I usually have to "catch up" on my sleep later.

In short, the answer is usually not enough.

I usually don't get up early enough to have more than a cup of coffee, but when I do, I go for cereal.

For some reason, I prefer bland cereals. Grape-Nuts (or the local generic equivalent) is my current favorite, but shredded wheat and bran flakes are nice from time to time.

More seriously, I like the features we do have, and I appreciate all the work that has been done so far.

I would like to echo requests for additional themes and perhaps even ranks to be added in, though. The old themes and ranks are very nostalgic, but nostalgia aside, they have always been some of my favorite little features of the board, and it would be nice to see them utilized more.

I adore Undertale. I recently watched a let's play of it, and even years later, it was a wonderful experience. I was quite surprised to see just how many little things I missed when I played it too.

With that said, I understand if other people don't like it or are wary of it due to how popular it was. If it seems like your kind of thing, though, then I highly recommend it.


Anyway, I have, um, quite a collection of games and books that I intend to finish some day. I suspect that collection will only get larger with time, though. With video games especially, I have a habit of playing new games for a little while before abandoning them and just replaying the same old games I've already completed before.

Like everyone else, though, I have other things to occupy my time, so perhaps it's for the best.

So far, I've just about finished reading Hyperbole and a Half, and it's pretty good. There's quite a bit of new content in there, which is nice if you've already read the blog. I definitely recommend it.

I've also read some of Quantum Mechanics, the puzzle book, and House of Leaves. I've really enjoyed them so far, but the first two are pretty mathy, if that's not your thing.

I haven't really read the others yet, but I've heard good things about them, and I'm looking forward to them.
