bought a motherboard replacement for my laptop (current one has integrated video, replacement is a mobo for the same model laptop but with a dedicated GPU) and a heatsink. heatsink doesn't seem to be doing its job because the fan was going apeshit but the heat coming out of the vent wasn't even close to hot, as if the heatsink wasn't making contact with the GPU or something. can't really tell.

I put in a request for a return and... well, read from bottom to top.

gotta have pristine ratings, because 1 not even bad rating out of 1000 (seriously, all I did was request a return for what I thought was a legitimate concern) is super terrible!!!!

anyway the new heatsink arrived today--with thermal pads pre-installed on all contact points!

and guess how that worked out

I guess either the old heatsink was crap, or the gpu contact actually needed a thermal pad for proper contact...

Is anyone else playing this? I just made a severe discovery today and I'm in deep now. You IRC peeps know I've been shitting nonstop about this game, but boy.

I have a .PSD file that's some 20-30 layers that I've been using for some puzzle panels. And a .PNG I have open in Paint at the same time. And a somewhat elaborate system to get screenshots from my PS4 to my PC that doesn't involve a dummy Twitter account.

think of a mix between Myst and Super Metroid. knowledge is progression, progression is nonlinear, and the island's structure and geography definitely come into play.

here's a 33 minute gameplay video, starting from the very beginning of the game to show its foundation. No spoilers, but a very light tease on how mechanics get bent.

anyway I've been having a lot of fun with this, despite my frustration at times. I've grabbed a couple hints--but no explicit solutions--when I've been completely stumped. I did some careful Ctrl-F'ing here. The elation I experience from solving a panel at exactly the same moment I nail down a crucial detail of some ruleset or mechanic is fantastic, and is not far off from, say, conquering something in a From Software Souls game.

I'm just about 200 (+1) panels in and I can't wait to jump in tomorrow.
