It's pretty much the same concept as MTG Online (not to be confused with Duels of the Planeswalkers), which has been slogging on for the past nine years or so. If it's executed with a reasonable enough method of security, then I can't really fault people for playing it, can I? It's not exactly my cup of tea -- I like playing with real cards, thank you very much -- but if you wanna spend real money on virtual cards, go ahead. Thousands of other people still do it for MTGO, so ... yeah.

Two things, here. One of them is an honest-to-god nitpick, and the other one is more sinister.

The nitpick: Balrog never said OOOH YEAAAAH in Japanese, either. Example, from the malco.tsc file in Cave Story:

「ヘーイ!

That'd be "Heei", romanized directly, and more like a really big "HEY!" if you translated it 1:1. Thing is, that's kinda boring. The act of localization isn't just "make the moonspeak into english," it's also rewriting slightly to make the text more engaging... Like so: "Huzzah!" is a more fun interjection than just OH YEAH.

Now, for the sinister: The fact of the matter is that some of Aeon Genesis' translation is still lurking in the files. Just, in places that are not accessed normally, apparently. Note the Huzzah! on the file to the right side of that comparison. This, my friends, is a problem.

So she can reach in and grab her bombs from it!

I see two mistakes.

First, the number of

I would explain more,

It seems I have erred.
I will attempt to fix this!
Have a look at it:

俺の駄句。
言葉が悪い。
技じゃない。

Ore no daku.
Kotoba ga warui.
Waza ja nai.
t:
My poor poem.
The words are so terrible.
There is no skill here.

Is this one better?
I can't believe I made such
a careless mistake.

"見てみて" is literally "try looking" or "take a look," so "みてみて" could easily just be that. :o But this is splitting hairs -- "look, look!" and "take a look!" are close enough in meaning as it is.

If you can get the DDR data files and look around to see if there are step charts that aren't normally accessible, then that would be acceptable. It's not a glitch wiki.

They're legitimate stepfiles that can only be accessed through glitching nonstop -- some of the stepfiles are clearly extremely early test charts (one of them... Last Message Oni? I think) is a bunch of 16th notes perfectly synced up to the beat of the song... but only on one arrow, and only a small part of the song. The songs that cause the game to crash are the ones that don't have step data available on that difficulty.

Jesus, I haven't thought about this stuff in ages. Thanks for reminding me about it!
