Busy. Thought I'd poke in for the lulz.

So what have I missed? Is Acmlm alive? Rumor has it he's been spotted posting on the internets.

That was its whopping 2nd post too! Come on! I should have remembered.

For anyone who wants to know why I left the old "Community" - aside from drama etc:
- Bought a new car about 26 months ago and had fun playing with it.
- Got a GF about 2 years ago.
- Moved in with said GF
- Bought a house

Some other stuff but that's some of the most major.

So I post, and then Blades posts, and then Acmlm posts. It's like I'm all powerful or something. And by "Or something" I really mean potato.

Now then, who wants to see some of my tube-clogging abilities?

Well, you're posting on it, but you're not ID 1, so it sure isn't Acmlm's Board (Numberhere). Kind of like how you posted on the SlRO boards when you weren't posting on whateveracmlmboardincarnation was around then.

Nice to see some familiar names in here though.

Who is that Kiddie Porn 9000 jackass that deleted his posts? What a waste of space. Seriously. It's the internets, it's not like his threads were bad or anything. And even my thread got closed. I guess their policy on lolboard hasn't changed at all in the 2 years I was gone.

Zomg...
- Zany Golf on the IIGS! 'twas the shiznit. Speaking of old school, the IIGS, with its one-button ball mouse. One button! And it used a ball, not a laser! CRRRAZY!
- Atari 2600 on the Space Command 12" B&w Zenith TV. Turn it on and let those tubes warm up! You know it's ready when the white dot in the center expands out to take up the whole screen and then shortly thereafter it starts snowing and you can hear the white noise of static.
- Blowing in the NES cart, getting really far in Zelda (or any other game) and then the console gets bumped and the "flash of death" starts.
- Gameboys that were heavier than a DS (non-lite) and bigger. Those things were AA hogs!
- 80's QUALITY American rolling-iron. The kind of stuff that would lose a screw from some trim piece every 500 miles or 50 potholes. Like my parents Caprice Wagon, the diesel one that my parents couldnt wait to trade in, or the gas one that kept running after you shut it off like the diesel one would.
- The 5lb TV remote
- VHS tapes. Who hasn't had their VCR eat at least 1? Or have the VCR that wouldn't eject that rental tape!
- The camcorder that weighed 30lbs. It wasn't the camcorder that weighed so much, it was the tape recording deck you had to carry in a separate bag on your shoulder, with the huge battery in it. The wire ran from the camera to the deck (which was a VCR that came off the deck part in your home theater to be transported). You were lucky if the battery lasted 30 minutes.
- The timeless Benz

Previous posts I agree with:
- Throwback Dew, Pepsi, Dr Pepper: These are not a full-time item... I wish they were. I'm almost out of the Dew & Pepsi and have been out of Dr Pepper for about 2 months. Thankfully I buy ~6 12-pks of each on sale ($2-3 a pk) and stock up when I can. But that corner of my laundry room is now empty.
- Crispy M&Ms: they weren't bad. I could go for some.

For my contributions:
- Anything that used Dextrose/Cane Sugar VS Corn Syrup. Not just sodas but candy too. I swear it used to taste better...
- Captain Crunch and Golden Grahams: The ORIGINALS. Not the re-formulated stuff. The old stuff would get all gooey in milk, sticky; not either crunchy or soggy. The reformulation sucks, because it had such a great taste when it got like this
- Rice Krispie Treats Cereal: I haven't seen it in ages so I assume it's gone away.
- A-Treat sodas: They're still around but there used to be so many flavors I can't even remember that are either unavailable in my area, or dodo. Drink it while playing with a Waterfuls. Wonderfuls.
- Blue Houdini/Great Bluedini Kool-Aid: This mix changed color. Big deal, all Kool-Aid mixes kinda do that anyway. But it was awesome tasting.
- Cherry Pez. Not available in the US but Can still from what I gather. They might have come out with it again in the US but without the red dye that the FDA banned. I think it was Red #5.

Pretty sweet. More catchy than the Bed Intruder song, since that is what was stuck in my head before this.

I don't know if I'm "Back" - I pop in & out. Ironic, this is a year old thread... Maybe I get nostalgia around that time of year when it starts to get cold and I remember back to the first board, where it all started on that cold January night?

Edit: Apparently I replied to a now-deleted post

I guess I'm used to bumps. The car forum I mod has people bumping sometimes 6, 7 year-old threads (sometimes older) with replies like the posts were made yesterday. Sort of funny when the user never came back after their initial post.

I can do without the getting dark early. It's really bad when you work overnights. You're looking at the clock waiting for your shift to start, thinking it's got to be almost time, and you see it's nowhere close . Combined with DST ending, it makes 7pm feel like 10pm. It throws me off...

Random rant... I can't believe that it's almost Thanksgiving, soon it'll be Christmas, then 2011. I still have stuff I wanted to do 6 months ago or more, and the longer I wait the faster time seems to go by and make the projects never come to pass. I started redoing the "Bay" window in my kitchen in like June. Tore the wood out, redid all that... I was going to re-tile it in July... it's now almost December. I'd start it Monday but I really want to finish my Jeep before it snows.

Speaking of random discontinued food items...

My unopened Pepsi Holiday Spice can I had on my display cabinet top @ my parents' house for display ate through the can. I discovered it the last time I went up, it had leaked all down the side of the display cabinet & onto the dresser below.

I didn't like it at all, but I saved a can figuring maybe someday someone would pay money for it. Guess that isn't going to happen now.
