Wow, has it really been four years since we first discussed this? It really did take its sweet time in coming to North America.

Anyway, unlike what I said in a previous post in this thread, after seeing the trailer for this way back in 2010 I decided that it was finally time to dive into the Professor Layton series, and when I did I discovered that I absolutely LOVED it! I loved it so much in fact, that it became my favorite video game series, and continues to claim that position even today!

So with the Professor Layton series over, this seems like it may be one of the last times that we get to see the Professor in the spotlight, along with Phoenix Wright of course! And I have to say that I really enjoyed how Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright turned out. It's not a perfect game, and it is strange that they kind of just slapped the European version of the game onto a North America cartridge (expect to hear Luke's European voice actor, and see the letter 'u' in words such as "colour"). Although in the end I had a lot of fun with it, and would even recommend it to people who have only played games from either one of the series.

The way it works is that the investigative portions of the game play like Professor Layton games do, where you explore and solve puzzles, and then in between those there are court sessions that play just like the ones from the Ace Attorney series do (with a few new twists of course). The final game seems to have taken a little bit of a different direction than the original trailer from 2010 suggests, and it's kind of funny to go back now and see just how different it looks like some of the things were going to be.

I also have to say that I really like the soundtrack. It's almost 100 tracks big, and many of them are incredible remixes of tunes from the Layton and AA series!

So, has anyone else here played this game? What do you guys think about it?

It really is a shame, I was hoping that I might someday hit 5000 posts. I remember thinking that 744 days between my 3000th and 4000th posts was bad, and now here we are about 1000 days after that and I've only made another 253 posts.

That's actually a really awesome hack! As a kid I had a terrible time remembering which Pokemon I had caught, which would sometimes result with me having about five of the same pokemon eating up all of my box space.

The only foreign country that I have traveled to is the United States, which is cool, although I really want to go overseas someday, especially to Japan. The problem is that the cost of flying is pretty ridiculous, and vacations overall just aren't cheap. After I graduate from University I'll probably put some time aside and try to do a bit of exploring, so I'm looking forward to that.

To all of the layout pros out there, what resources would you suggest for a person who has absolutely no experience in layout creation although is interested in learning how it's done? The one that I am currently using was very kindly created by Bloodstar many years ago, although I thought that it would be fun to change things up a bit and gain a new skill in the process. Any nudges in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not one of those so called "grammar nazis", although one of my pet peeves has always been when people use a lowercase "i" instead of an uppercase one.

Of course if your caps lock key is broken, then I suppose it can't be helped.
