Finished my mug full of this Tension Tamer tea I got from a local supermarket that, due to certain circumstances can only visit conveniently a few times a year and AFAIK, is the only place that sells this.

Forgot how good this tea is, even though it contains some kind of mint in the mix. I should have bought more than one package.

I'm pretty happy with the amount of traveling I get to do nowadays; Aside from conventions in San Jose and Sacramento, I've been out-of-state once to visit home for the holidays and out-of-country in October 2016 on a two-week cruise through the Panama Canal.

Most recently though, it was Sacramento. Didn't have as good of a time there as I really wanted, but at least the hotel Acey and I stay in has a delicious (if somewhat arbitrary) continental breakfast.

Somehow I'm reminded of a dream I had either last night or the night before where I had an even older, third laptop that I somehow managed to obtain after returning home. My dream self was pretty stoked to get the thing working and couldn't wait to dissect the contents of the hard drive.

Much more substantially, I created an image file of my old laptop several months ago. Kind of useless in retrospect because I just eventually decided to go ahead and use this new laptop fresh.

Reminds me that I still need to painstakingly go through every single website I use, occassionally or otherwise, and set up my allowed/blocked settings for both NoScript and Adblock.

One of the downsides to a new laptop, particularly when you haven't brought in the old one for monitor repair yet and doing anything on it takes effort.

You like Cruis'n franchise like me?

I have an idea of hacking Cruis'n Exotica (due to the graphic engine) to make it Cruis'n Italy, but before have to be hacked to restore all the arcade features cutted out during the N64 half-conversion.


Honestly, I've never actually played any of the Cruis'n games. I think I simply enjoy the aesthetic (no irony) feel of traveling cross-country/various locales at a high speed.

This actually got me wondering if it's theoretically possible to have one program emulate everything. I'm guessing it can be done, but not without massive amounts of code.

My current projects include writing, b/w doodling. Haven't really done too much in the way of projects recently. I may just knock something out just for the sake of doing stuff.

American Truck Simulator is a thing that exists and in the few weeks I've had it I've clocked over a day's worth of playtime.

I mean unlike most simulators on Steam the engine for this game is decently solid, and there isn't too many weird physics stuff to get yourself into*, though above all else it's simply a relaxing video game without any major programming hitches.

*I did, however, have to use the tow service to escape from a singular pylon that got jammed under the trailer, though. Think about it: Unable to move because of a pylon.

I'm not too interested in VR. I just have the feeling that I'd get motion sick very quickly.

My new laptop definitely supports VR though, so if some VR goggles landed on my lap I'd more than likely give it a try.
