I, for one, have this minor fear of sharp shit.

You could probably blame that on having sliced the part of my hand between thumb and index open with a very large knife (by accident, of course) and having had a pair of scissors snap in half, sending the blade shooting off while trying to open fucking blister packaging.

Have I mentioned that I hate blister packaging yet?

I can rekate by saying that I'm colostraphobic and refuse to get in an elevator. It was caused by me being trapped in one for a short time.

And then there's a fear of spiders I have, and I have no reasoning behind that.

Mold. I can't touch anything that even remotely looks like it's rotten.

Also, telephones. Not the devices themselves, but rather the process of calling (or being called). I can't call people (or machines, even!) over the phone for the life of me, and whenever I hear a phone ringing I can't help but start shaking
Using Skype (or something similar) is usually fine, though, as long as I personally know the person/people I'm talking with (and even then it's kind of difficult)

There are even more things.. but I don't want to get too much into detail

That reminds me of that time in 1999 or so when I had a blade of a small pair of scissors stuck in my right hand, in that little piece of skin between the little and ring finger. Fun times. :x

I'm somewhat cautious about touching metallic handles, especially during the hot and windy days, since there's a chance of getting static electricity.

Any piece of cloth should be fine in order to protect my fingers from that annoyance.

I really hate to be sick so when ever people sneeze or cough without covering their mouth (which happens quite often) I usually try to avoid going around the area that they just sneezed/coughed if possible. I know it's stupid but I just hate being sick that much

Something's wrong with the toaster-oven and it sometimes hums really load whenever I make toast, which really freaks me out.

There's also the washing machine, which also sometimes gets really loud. According to my parents when I was young, it was going to "explode", so I scream at everyone to turn it off and hide in my room.

I am ultra paranoid, so I have a lot of fears that I shouldn't have.

One that I have is hitting any sort of bag. I one time got mad at something my brother did (this was when I was 10 I think?) and I slammed my hand against a bag which we threw random crap in after cleaning the room.

I still have a mark of where a pencil probably broke in my hand. As far as I know, it was already broke but the mark never left. Kind of lucky I didn't get lead poisoning.

Re-dislocating my right little finger. Seeing it bent like some new joint--which was over a year ago--was brick-shitting scary. (Having it pulled back in place was a fun moment, too!)

Whenever there's some sort of impact against that finger, I freak out and take a good look at it, pull it several times, etc.

Oh, and when I was two or three years old, I was terrified of the little keyhole animation in Super Mario World. I still remember running to the other end of the house, screaming something like "DON'T DO IT YET DON'T DO IT YET"

Similiar, except more stupid on my side. Tried opening blister packaging with a Butcher knife and slipped. Have the mark of teh cut above my wrist. Now I really hate sharp objects.

Uh, pencils aren't actually made with lead. In fact, they've never been made with lead, as the "lead" was graphite even back in the 1500's, when the pencil was invented.

Any way, I'm not entirely sure if this is, indeed, an irrational fear, but I don't like heights. I'm not scared of them in a way that I wouldn't get on a plane, but I certainly feel uncomfortable on, say, the edge of a steep cliff or a skyscraper. Now, I'm not really sure about this because I hardly find myself in situations like that, and the last time I was anywhere near a steep cliff was many years ago, so I'm not sure if I would react the same way now.

Now, I used to get really paranoid whenever I played a first person shooter due to some unpleasant childhood experiences, but I got over that after I recently started playing them again after some pressure from my friends. Now, I hardly even flinch at even the most frightening of FPSs.

I'm a ligyrophobe. It's not that I think the world is asploding or a loud noise is going to physically hurt me. Loud, sharp sounds just give me this nasty physical twitch.

I hate human vomit (I can deal with cat hork because it's in limited quantities and doesn't usually smell terrible) and the idea of getting a stomach illness is even worse. The last such illness I had was almost 14 years ago, and the memory still disgusts me like whoa. At least this fear prevented me from being too crazy with the alcohol during my college years.

And word to the avoidance of touching metal things. Static electricity annoys me.

I have a small fear of hospitals/doctor's offices/medical-ish places in general...just some bad memories, I suppose... I don't have a problem with doctors themselves, strangely.

Being late for work.

Mainly because I'm never late and it looks really bad (even though it's really not) but still. I like being on time, not having to rush in without any time to relax before I start.

God, heights. I get queasy if I'm too high up... I'd never be able to go in a skyscraper or something. Being in a plane is bad enough, especially if it's in turbulence.

Most of these stories are turning out quite painful .

I have the same exact problem with planes. Although it's not a problem of heights as much as I hate turbulence. Just don't expect me to climb a large ladder :p

I get somewhat paranoid when someone else is driving.

I always think that another car in the other lane will try to get into my lane as soon as I drive up against them.

I can't drive side by side a truck/semi, I always have to drive fast to get away from them.

If there's construction on the road/highway and they have those concrete walls up, I have to drive in the middle lane.

Attacking ideas or jobs unfamiliar to me.

The fear is that I'll fuck it up worse than what I got it or screw whatever I'm supposed to do up. Leave that blame on (not wanting to be but) being a perfectionist and an ego that doesn't take too kindly to fucking things up and knows that there's no way to deny it.

I seriously think embarrassment, at least for me, can be worse than death sometimes...the whole letting people down thing ties into that, so I don't.

I'm afraid of heights... When I was a kid I once fell from a 2nd floor, but I landed on grass and nothing happened to me. But since then, I get very dizzy when I'm in a high place...

Poison.
In bugs, animals, food-poisoning. Just the idea of getting sick from something really bugs me. (Not enough to freak out over it) but I just get really unsettled sometimes over random things.
