Hi guy.. I would to know how I can change the title super mario 64 and the text PRESS START... ah also the the menu... what are the programs for that?

I know the title screen and menu can be edited with the Tile Molester. But i can't seem to get that working. Maybe the "PRESS START" can be edited with the Text Wrangler. I have a look.

Text wrangler or Tile Molester are the only things i can think of. I know i'm doing something wrong getting tile molester to work but you could always give it a go!

You could always try a hex editor, you know, one of the first tools you should learn how to use before you ROM hack.

can you explain me how to change the text with hex editor? I have found the switch FIND and I have written PRESS and I have found the code but if I change PRESS with another word the game does not work.. why?

It's a protected area of the ROM. The Nintendo 64 has a lockouts chip to provent pirated / unlicensed games, so if you modify anything from 0x1000 to 0x101000 you'll need a program to correct the CRC.

You can use this tool to correct your ROM and then it will work fine.
