Edit: For now, Im getting a bit tired of just working on the one, difficult to design, canyon level. How about I make a start on the island level then get back to the canyon one later? So maybe you could give me a patch with the water up and i'll make a start. I really just want a little bit of a break, the canyon level is really complicated to make .

Jeez. This hack seems to be falling down a bit. Meissan is practically doing it solo. (no offence blaster). I think I'll take another shot at TT and see If I can make anything.

Me-me: Nice, the patch (which is a modified "Platfom Battlefield") is in the first pages of this thread. I recommend also trying the "scaling behavior" patch. If you want to try a different set of enemies, just drop a PM that I can do the adjustments.

Didn't see that part of your post. The instructions are here, try to follow them carefully and if you have any problems just send me a PM. The objects which represent the terrain limits don't have to be enabled on any act or have any particular behavior/model setting, the program only uses their X,Y,Z positios to set the new terrain polygon/collision.

I recommended renaming your ROM to something like "mario.z64", without any spaces or special characters. Afterwards, just open a DOS prompt and type "terrain_resizer mario.z64".

I've noticed the RPG-like layout in page 3.
What about a sky level? Like, you find a abandoned cannon in the forest (area 5) and you
shoot yourself through a coin ring to get to the sky level.
I've started on my level, and i thaught that this might be a good idea.

Edit: It seems like the scaling.ppf cannot be used with the base patch.
PJ64 gets an error that says: The loop can't be exited. Ending emulation now.
It only happens when i patch those two to a ROM. Just the base patch work fine.

I noticed that on your Luigi's Mantion hack and the problem was that I saw it, but hesitated because not only did it just seem like a few coins, but you had it over a cliff...

However, the lone cannon is a GREAT idea! Maybe though, you shoot it at a cloud, or something. Or maybe an ASM hack can be made to "Auto Fire" Mario

That was my first idea for the "Sky Cage" level . I think we can get a very interesting combination by also having some object blocking the path (using the "Breakable by Cannon" behavior). Thanks for helping on the hack, I'm looking forward to see what you have worked.

Would you, by chance, want a obstacle-course based level? It could be used to activate a switch, or to collect single star (Much like the Princess' secret slide). A while back I was in the beginnings of developing it, but put it off due to school and work... If you're interested, I can pull up the project again, and contribute to this hack.

From a previous post, perhaps a way to access the level would be to use a cannon? (the level would be constructed of floating platforms). If you want, I can upload a screenshot of how it looks so far. But right now, it's far from completion, and some parts may need to be changed.

Uhm.. not sure if I applied it correctly (ppf-patched on a normal extended rom?), but I couldn't find any star on that course. It was actually quite confusing in the beginning as I had no idea where to go (now I still don't have one), perhaps you could add a line of coins pointing towards the right way?
Anyways, I noticed many collision glitches and some objects where inside the canyon... As I said, maybe I just applied the patch in the wrong way.

I just repointed the Castle Grounds level so that the "Inside Castle" is loaded instead. So, the game thinks you're actually in the Castle Grounds, making some hardcoded stuff not happen. This seems to be the most reasonable explanation.

Celux: I am working on your Koopa Canyon level. I corrected mostly of the collision problems, simplified some things and used some smaller scaling for some objects. I'm thinking of doing a Gameshark code that will display your current X,Y,Z position in the screen, so we can use it as a reference for placing objects in TT64. The scaling behavior makes it difficult to manage objects since you don't know if they are colliding with something or not. How is your work doing on the little patch I sent to you ?
