I'm just kind of interested in some opinions on how this place is doing. We just cleared 5 mill within the space of about 16 months, so it's obvious that there are people that are coming here and continue to come back for their own reasons, regardless of posts-per-day and whatnot.

I'm just wondering about the general opinion of this place in general or if you guys have any suggestions that we should keep in mind. I think a few things we were working on towards the side were those item shop messing arounds and the fact that the forum now has a main page. Suggestions are, as usual, always welcome.

Basically, just a 555-5555 poll.

Voted "All Right" as well. I'm not as active as the rest of you all but it's still a fun place. Heck, this board has my most posts currently online (NSider had about 2K from me but that's long gone). Still, I notice that most of the posters are the regular people. We don't really have much "new blood" so to speak. Not, that that's a bad thing, just something I've noticed.

It's okay, but Jul's missing that magic it had a year ago--when activity was at its prime. It's easy to get distracted from Jul now, though, but I still tend to visit once or twice each day. =/

To be honest, I don't really check the board as much as IRC anymore (but then, that's how it's been for me since board2, so ). If there's a random spree going on, I'll check it out, but usually I don't constantly check the board for updates.

I miss the days when everyone was into rom hacking and the forum used to be just flooded with posts about people's projects and discoveries. Although since the split people haven't been as into rom hacking as they used to be

Actually since the splits the rom hackers have really spread to their own communities so all their information is there, like SMWCentral for instance.

Same effect happened to the Story Forum.

It's all right, I won't say it's perfect because if I did my brain would come up with tons of ways in which it's not, but eh. Activity is down yes, but we're not in danger of dying as far as I can tell, and here's the only place I regularly post at, so, good.

Where did the Story Forum people go? I don't think I've seen them.

I know there's a few current or ex members of Acmlm's on GBAtemp and GameFAQs, but that's about it.

Frankly, I'm okay with Jul but not too fussed I spend most of my time on IRC, or programming for board2.

Thoughtless's IRC channel he made during I3. Invite only so that he can invite who he wanted without alienating anyone there, but for the most part it is just a random IRC channel about nothing.

The only reason story posts are shown in the channel is so that it is more manageable to keep a story going. It was after the board split when they got post reporting going on anyway, given the split ruined all the stories for the most part.

The archives can definitely show how the splits affected the Story Forum. Users losing interest in the board and leaving altogether was one thing. The fact that getting anywhere in a story just for it to be restarted in a few months or so was a bigger factor.
