Figured I may as well make it. We'll not really know for sure til tomorrow but today is the last day for you guys to get out and vote if you're old enough/registered. Ought to if you have an opinion enough to do so.

You mean I get to come home from work at 1 AM and watch guys on CBS take out the whiteboard and try to explain who can win with the 6 states remaining in play again?

Incredible amount of hype for the election in Canada. You know, more so than our OWN FEDERAL ELECTION a few weeks ago (which had a very low voter turnout).

I would wonder if that says anything about the world's view on this...

Some must be pissing their pants over this while others viewing it as a farce. I know the latter to be true, especially with CNN coverage.

Probably because, if more people think the way most of my friends and family do, Canada will probably be full of immigrants if McCain gets in and dies

Personally, I don't have much of an opinion on this election... but Palin seriously, seriously gives me terrible vibes.

More like because Canadian elections are mainly "Who're Ontario/quebec going to vote in to screw us over this time?".

US election will have more of an effect on the West than the canadian one will

Nah, this year it was "Will the Conservative Party form a majority government or not?"

...Care to explain?

Anyways, I'm West Coast, and I'm going to be watching coverage most of today. 7PM is when I'm going to really start paying attention to everything, though.

I tried to get it out of him last night (why it's a "farce", etc) but he never explained.

I wouldn't mind knowing either, though.

It's a farce because both parties are pretty much the same... not same enough to vote republican though. But still.

I envy the parliamentary democracies of the world

Yea, I'll humor you.

Had one of our international guys from Britain come in a few weeks back and I brought the subject up. He, like me, was figuring McCain was the better option but he had mentioned the 'farce' comment with CNN.

He said the whole thing was like watching a comedy and it was especially a big thing to watch in the pubs.

Especially when Palin was on. They'd be like 'Oh, it's her, turn it down - I don't care what she says' and get to...you knowwwww...

So one guy says the whole thing's a farce and you somehow manage to extrapolate that to mean that the whole thing is a farce?

I'm left without words.
