And boourms, a Cave Story avatar set would be badass, I think. I mean Balrog only had two different facial expressions, but whatever.

That's my problem. I'm afraid I'll just end up mangling the pictures if I try and give him more expressions.

Nope, it'll result in a broken picture. I assume the server doesn't check if the picture exists (too much resource usage).

I suggest you just throw in X dummy pics, your avatar, in the folder, for every instance that you don't have a pic for said number.
