Reasons are good too. As usual, no flaming tolerated, but feel free to debate or otherwise discuss your reasoning.

My vote is only theoretical and wouldn't count anyway because it's in Massachusetts, but whatever...

I would probably say Obama... I didn't really like him that much in the primary, he reminds me a lot of current Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, who is also known for his speaking ability, and also was not too experienced coming into the State House... On the other hand, I agree with him more often than I agree with McCain, and McCain seems like too much of a warmonger to me, especially with regards to Iran, which would be... bad.

I guess there are the famed third parties, but... let's face it, they're not going anywhere. Plus I haven't really looked into them

McCain...and that's a lot coming from someone who usually doesn't care about this kind of thing but considering how much information I've taken in that isn't regurgitated drive-by media, Obama, anymore, is in real trouble.

Yea, I'm sure I'm getting a bunch of death glares on the majority of the board. I don't really care. Anymore, it's like trying to speak of religion and I know the firestorm that's coming from this thread so let's go to it.

It does boil down to experience for me and at the same time these people who keep saying that he's a warmonger when he is was a POW and understands how many never want to be in that situation is kind of counter-intuitive to think he likes it at all for everything he's actually been through. Sure, it's been stated time and again of his war hero status in the debates but it's for a particular point of NOT wanting war and wanting to find ways out of it. I would vouch for the person who knows how rather than the one who does not.

Also, people keep relating people to other people. These are entirely different ones. Bush does not equal McCain and Obama certain doesn't equal JFK and whatever else you want to associate people with. People keep saying 'oh I don't want another Bush' when they have different means of going about what they want for their own campaigns.

And if it came down to another 9/11, or even worse than that, I would want something who would fire the nuke than a person who wonders what a nuke really is. I would develop an understanding of the candidates outside of what you would have the media think it as such first before saying someone who is ill-prepared to be taking office. I guess older people, who will more than likely and ultimately rule the popular vote, would be after that than someone who spouts 'change' only to change his mind about any and every issue that comes up and instead of voting 'yes' or 'no' he votes 'present'.

But hey...sure democratic vote will win this one on this board...I'm just not sure it should be the one that wins out in the end. That's just my piece in the matter.

For God's sake, I wish more people would understand that there is much more to being President than knowing when to fire nukes. Like, I dunno, taking care of your own people's suffering first and foremost.

This country isn't just circling the drain, it practically is in the drain. I'm sick of war and fear-mongering. I just want someone to attept to fix the country I live in for a change.

And here we go...

So we're in a non-first world country now? Since when?

Banks around the country are closing, the biggest Gov't-sponsored lenders just got bailed out, prices are skyrocketing, the foreclosure rate is out of control..

You don't have to be considered a second-world country to understand that things are not going well.

Oh...well isn't the government, or maybe the people in charge in the Senate that would deal in government sponsering, mostly democratic-based right now?

I mean let's take drilling for oil, for instance, on top of research for alternate fuel to get a large chunk of economy back from foreign sources. That's getting halted by environmentalists and said mostly democratic-based people again. If they let that go then there's really no reason to blame the republican chief in office for problems done so why would they let an opening like that go.

Last I heard of Obama doing anything was talking about a second economic stimulus a few months back and well that wouldn't work out because the first one made it even worse...since that delves in the country's economy as-is and really did nothing to help things either way. By May, a good majority of things were already spent in terms of that and it was, again, a mostly-democratic idea. We're getting poorer over most things based on that.

So...why again would I vote for something I generally can't afford either? I'm lost. I would think I would want to get someone in that's going to put money back into my pocket and not take it away. I've seen more out of the candidates of the republican party right now than the democratic ones that, again, spout change but have little or no substance behind it.

If you've got an answer to that one, I want to see something that says Obama has a nice little plan for that that's worth any merit of getting people out of the problems just conveyed. I would also wonder if you think he has the ability to handle that when the most experience I've seen out of him is Harvard and being a community manager of sorts.

..You do realize that the moment a Nuclear Missile is actually fired, then no matter who the target is, everyone is going to retaliate, right? Moreover, if you want to stop war, you -need- someone who doesn't feel that the best way to solve a dispute is to just say 'to hell with it' and fuck the other guy up. But then, as far as I'm concerned the entire US command chain is in need of a drastic overhaul, so I suppose it doesn't particularly matter whether the person in the white house is a warmonger or not. That said, I'm strongly in favour of Obama, and the policies he's campaigned on.

Well, strongly for or whatever, you might want to check the latest polls...

54 McCain, 44 Obama.

That's one hell of a swap, considering McCain was doing worse than Obama at a point.

Obviously, people are finding more for McCain than is meeting the eye here. Not surprising some of the states mentioned are the democratic vote here as well in reviewing it (and mine's on the leaning McCain one, again not surprising). Many states, however, are still too close to call.

But you can bet it's mostly Palin to go after for.

Love you too. If you seriously mean that you really need to get your brain soaked or something.

Anyways, like I said, it's like talking about religion...if you show anything in terms of anything someone doesn't agree with it'll automatically drop you in as someone to be hated if you don't talk to that person enough. This is usually why I don't say anything about this but apparently there's a reason I'm saying something this time around...

I just guess I'll be the one to figure it out on my own. Guess I shouldn't expect sympathy here or from the four others that voted McCain without saying anything from the bullshit that this thread's going to do for saying 'oh yea I support McCain'.

Um... he supports the current administrations torturing of prisoners (Oops, I mean "enhanced interrogation techniques") and has said he's willing to stay in Iraq for 100 years.

I will say I am voting for Obama, but, seeing the battles here and the vicious one I had elsewhere, I will abstain from arguing or giving reasons, lest it needlessly tear at the fabric of things.

I'm right on the fence. Who I'm for changes every week. Though this past week I'd actually have to say I agree with Hiryuu.

Now I'm pretty much democrat though I wouldn't consider myself a diehard one, and I never thought I'd ever be considering voting republican right now considering the huge mess of the past 8 years, but I think right now I think McCain's the better choice. Now I don't agree with McCain on a lot of issues, but you gotta admit that at least the republican party has managed to keep their act together throughout this election where the democrats have been a total mess. Now issue wise I agree a lot more with Obama, but McCain seems the one most likely to actually get stuff done and know what he's doing where as Obama just strikes me as wishy washy and all talk.

Obama seems to be relying solely on preconceived notions to get elected rather than actual plans for change. Ex: If you like bush vote McCain, if you want change vote me. If you're rich vote McCain, if you're middle class vote me. If you're an old fart vote McCain, if you're young and up with the times vote me. If you're republican vote McCain, if you're Democrat vote me ect. Anyone who votes solely based on party has had these party based preconceptions in mind to the point where some never bother to look beyond them and Obama's using that to his advantage, but what does he actually plan to do?

I don't know. I don't really care for either candidate that much. I'd almost vote for anyone else if they actually had a prayer of winning. I'm probably just not going to vote. Either way it goes, it has to be better than bush.

The government didn't cause this problem.

Oh, and I voted for McCain.... but I doubt anyone who's known me is surprised by that .

Well McCain will probably die in office from old age, so either way I guess we won't have to live with this decision for long.
