So let me just get to the point, I'm at work and these two people walk into the store. One is a tall black man, about 6'1 and a white, maybe Hispanic female, a bit on the short side, really skinny, boyish haircut, brown hair, tattoo on her left shoulder. The man stays in the front of the store while the lady asks for a Ps3 system. I get the system from the back and place it on the floor behind the counter (we know not to place systems on the counter, just in case) and then ask if she wants any accessories and she wants a Ps3 controller. I go into the back room again and I get the controller. As I walk out of the back room, I see the black male walk behind the counter to grab the Ps3 system. He then reaches for the Ps3 controller thats in my hand, and as a reaction, I pull back. They then walk towards the front door, I rush for the phone and a customer enters. I rush to the door and both of us run outside to get the tag plate number. I call the cops and a bunch show up. They people who stole the system touched a few items in my store, so they took finger prints and they have to take a magazine to the crime lab to get prints.

Apparently, these are the same people who have hit other stores when the employee would place the system on the counter. Hopefully we got enough information to get these bastards.

So up until now (maybe b/c I've had two drinks already) I've had the feeling that I just drank about 5 energy drinks, as well as pissed off and maybe a bit of rage.

Do we really live in an age where people can casually steal things?

If you're worried about customers coming in and stealing merchandise, you ought to see how bad actual co-workers are. Any theft, most times, goes to co-workers because they believe or know they can get away with it.

Or they're dumb and they get caught by the cops which most are doomed for anyways. If you say you got away you really can't gloat about it unless you're Nelson Monks or whatever other sleezeball in The Simpsons. :\

As long as people have access to things, they can always steal it. There are idiots out there who think they can steal something without getting caught, but most people suck at stealing. It just so happened that a cop came in a little while later, so we showed him the tape, and he went to go see if he could find him, which he didn't. Not such a big deal, since it was a few accessories. But a few of our stores in the district (or maybe just region, not sure) in malls were robbed when someone fuckin' crawled through the ceiling, dropped in, and stole all of their systems. ____________________

I've told this story before. A long time ago, my Uncle conned the people at some furniture store to help him carry to his car a large item that he didn't pay for. He drove off with me in the passenger seat.
