I used to write a lot of poems when I was younger (most I still have on paper in storage) and this is my first one in about two to three years. Nothing fancy and I don't aim to be perfect, I just type out whatever comes to mind and I'll usually just go with that.

Hopefully this can be a trend where I either come up with new stuff or post some of my old work (which is both funny and sad).

Haven't decided if I'm going to write a short meaning as to why the poem was written yet or what it means to me..I might end up doing that for a few of them. Most should be self explanatory, even with my cryptic ways.

So anyway, here's the first one (hopefully of many)...

Hour Glass

Standing in front not a giant hour glass, I sigh.
Deep breaths are the only thing I can take to stop the crying.
Placing my hand on the glass, I feel a pulse.
With each grain of sand holds a story of its own.
I stand back, slowly, wanting it to settle down, longing for a moment of reflection…
I turn around, my back towards it as my shoulders heave in and out.
It shatters.
Leave it to the sand and the dust and the wind, I begin to walk away.
Corner of my eye, something sparkles; I bend to pick it up: a piece of the hourglass.
I hold it to my chest, it just enough…

Empty?
Staring down at my notebook the words begin to jumble
My head hurts, banging in my head I can feel it
If only to just feel…my throat begins to hurt
I reach out to grasp onto something, anything
But I feel nothing save for the banging
Empty and soulless I cannot feel nor do I know what to feel
Have I finally rebuild these walls to hide away from everything
That I no longer know how to feel
I can’t feel that swirl of emotion anymore
Am I to be a drone among the many

So while unpacking I found all (hopefully all) of my poems that I wrote when I was younger. Since they're all on paper, I think it would be wise to save them on the computer, just in case.

So while saving them, I've decided to share them here.

Now, they're not the best things in the world but each reflect me and a time in my life. Well, for the most part.

Some I might add a little back story, while others not so much.

Enjoy and feel free to comment.

Oh and I won't be editing a thing. How it was written it how I will be typing it.

But for some...maybe I should...

Sometimes Help Can Never be Found
Can you hear my cries?
Can't you see my pain?
I yearn to just know
that someone is there.

Someone, anyone where are you?
My soul is coming out from
my tired pours
in a liquid form.

Then I stop and stand.
My heart skips a beat,
as I finally take a breath.

Even though I go though
so much pain and stress,
it's all worth it
due to the fact
that I am getting
stronger, day by day.

Everyone's Gone
In October my life giver left me.
Went to a tropical place
and cause me pain.
Everyday I wonder if she'll ever come back.
Especially for graduation.

In February my life love left me.
Cheated me.
Lied me.
Crushed me into the ground like gains of sand.
Every minute my heart pains as I think of him.
Especially since I still love him.

Who is next?
To depart from my life?
Could it be my turn?
Or will I live alone in darkness
when everyone's gone.

So the fits part is talking about my mother who left my dad and I to live in Puerto Rico. To this day she is still there and I haven't seen her since. She's written a few times and communicated with my father (especially when she needs something...actually, only when she needs something).

the second part is about my ex. An off and on relationship throughout middle and high school and I really don't know why I stay and put up with all the crap for so long. Aw, to be a teenager again. At least now I know how to act and what to do.

Through a Window
The snow was falling,
so gently on the ground.
The sun above seemed to be
not giving off heat at all.

The children outside,
were having their snowball fights.
Trying to hit everybody,
in their sights.

A family of snow-men,
were along the sidewalks,
with buttons for eyes,
and carrots for their noses.

You can see a lot through a window,
life moving,
children laughing,
and even snow-men just standing.
Through any window,
there is
life.
