I was thinking more along the line of Wind Waker, since that's the only one I played enough to know all of the rupee colors and values.

Also, Wikipedia and this place both say white rupees in OoT are worth 5 (although Wikipedia calls them silver).

5 the vaule of the rupee itself, and the other 5 for opening doors and activating things.

I call them white rupees to diferenciate them from the actual silver ones, as I don't think these have an official name.

Though I didn't play the wind waker or twilight princess, so I guess yellow ones make more sense...

How about I throw this idea in. Why do wallets in the Zelda games work the way they do? I mean, if you can hold 200 rupees, then what's the difference between 200 greens and 1 Silver? (That's WW's value, right?) If you look at the size, you shouldn't be carrying 200 green rupees around in one small wallet. If you could, then shouldn't you logically be able to carry rupees of the same size and higher value instead? Which means 200 silver rupees for a total value of 40,000. My point being, wallets should be based on the # you collect instead of their value, meaning that 10 would be about it at the beginning. If you take a look at how real-life wallets look, this should be logical. But do they ever, program anything the way it ought to be? No.

Probably rupees have actually an small magical propertype, which is what is measured by the wallet.
I mean, IIRC there are items that work with rupees. And even if there weren't, they'd just work that way just for the sake of annoying people.

That's where the point comes in that it's a game and it doesn't need to make any sense

I mean, how comes that (I'm pretty sure I've seen this happen before) if some enemy wants to steal 20 rupees from Link, he'll drop a red one, even if he collected nothing but green ones before? Do they magically combine inside of his wallet?

Seriously, it has logic, but it uses completelly different laws. Not thinking with these laws is like Kirby thinking about how could a creature have bones and die from being crushed, it makes no sense.

Crab? What does that have to do with anything.

Actually on that topic, I have this really stupid reason why I stopped eating shrimp. Normally I don't eat seafood in general, but shrimp was about the only one I'd eat. It was fine, but one time I though about what the shrimp were like before they were cooked...with all their legs...then I thought of how they still seemed full body to me, then to eating live shrimp, and just started getting negative feels on me. Yeah...merely thoughts stopped my eating of it.

The last time I had crab was... Never. I should really try that some time. The only seafood I've ever had was shrimp (both fried and boiled), cod, and salmon. They were all very good.

I don't eat shrimp because I'm allergic to it.

I used to be the same way. I HATED seafood, save for popcorn shrimp. I then tried crab...wow, good stuff. Especially if you get it from a decent place. Same goes for crab cakes. Not a fan of lobster tho.
